I don't understand why the creator hates modding. I'd argue mods can help add to the game and help improve its longevity, as they can add features to the existing game, cut or otherwise, or overhaul the game to be a completely new experience. Look at Doom and Half-Life for example.

There are some post about it and you can find more on the steam page, but the main reason seems to be that because the first game had a bunch of mods with questionable stuff, some people got the idea that the devs were into those same fetishes. Thing is, the whole team is pretty... Let's say inconsistent with their material and the quality of it, easy to anger when questioned and quite sensitive to the point of picking personal vendettas against players

There's a quest about it because a guy dared to dream with a cat girl harem, and they couldn't stand that

So having the power to mod stuff is both an insult to their vision, that changes constantly, and to what they want to do with this game, which is to have the player being lame

Honestly, if their main argument was something like, not wanting people to associate certain mods to them because there's always the danger of having some youtuber putting a three hour documental, or a no life trending chaser bug person on X or bluesky with a bot farm and unresolved issues had them on aim, then yeah, I would understand not wanting people to mod the game because of a negative reaction, but more proposed mods here are about changing some interactions, make them more tame, adding some npc as companions and things like that

So to finally answer your question, is ego, massive amounts of ego

Eh, in my ideal version, she'd have more to her (specially interacting with other characters, maybe get Kiyoko up to date for one, be caught teaching ninja shit to Kinu) once you got her as a companion.

Likewise, I'd be fine with the idea of the PC defeating a possessed Berwyn and his master, then letting them join in from that ethereal temple and whatnot but you can only get one of the two at a time. That way you could send Vivianne to the Wayfort to run a shop/do experiments and be this game's equivalent to the man, the myth, the legend Rathazul.

I get u, if anything u want an expansion. There's only so far I think her character can be stretched. Vivienne really should've just been a Rathazul stand in.
I've been replaying CocXiania mod n it's been fun seeing our RatLord scientist. (Tho I spit on the fact that the slave companions are now PAID DLC)

Not in the slightest. Corrupt Drifa's only got eyes for you. No one else sticks their dick in her but you.

No, she's super faithful to you even when fully corrupt, for example this is an excerpt from after you propose to her and talk about the wedding:

Got it," Drifa says. "I'm sure Garth wouldn't complain if we asked him to use the inn for our wedding — more customers, and all. As for an outfit, we did make a nice chunk of change when we plundered the corrupted mine. I'm sure we can both get something nice. You better not complain if I get something risqué for the occasion, though."

You hope aloud that she doesn't come to the event wearing her birthday suit.

"Oh gods, no! Are you crazy? People are going to be there — people who aren't you seeing my body. I'll think of something. Also the corruption route doesn't require you to let Drifa be captured; this is actually a bad way to start a relationship with her cuz you can date, have sex with, and collar her (and also give body modifications to her) before you even do the Corrupted Lupine dungeon. The fastest and easiest way to corrupt her is to let her go diving into the aphrodisiac pool which basically breaks her sanity and makes her perpetually in-heat until she's "calmed down", and that basically ruins her after.

Even your cultist guy who should have a main interest in stopping Tollus to show he can do better only tries when you pay for his stuff, otherwise he's just some tramp who ogles at your other friends, that's how little motivation half of your companions have to be with you

Don't even get me started on Quinn, dude is the one character I'm completely fine with getting the Brienne treatment, COMPLETE personality wipe. And his personality would be so bad if he had purpose or was active in the plot or pursuing the cult in his own way but none of tht was even in the plan.

Nope, that was all Jstars decision from what I saw. I remember when he talked about it in the Discord; I think he just doesn't like writing Drifa getting assaulted.

I was kinda disappointed tbh.

Knot Cave is really good while being really bad, there is so many inconsistencies through it. As for the Drifa assault, he should've just asked Tobs to do it for him. I'm sure Tobs would relish the idea

Loving the mod but I have come across some pretty bad bugs that break it but hopefully these reports will give an idea of what is the problem. Here is a list of bugs I found.

1st: Can't leave house in Hawkethorne early game.
2nd: Can't access change party with characters who shouldn't be in the party eg. Tamarind or Merielle.
3rd: This bug called 'length' of undefined at s.value is really bad I think its related to your inventory being too full for items and once this happens nothing you do seems to fix it. The game bugs out if you access a shop or your storage and other than reload an old save you are screwed.
4th: Vulpine race choice at the start of the game was not there all other mods appear to work so far.

I will add to the post if I find anymore bugs. The 3rd bug needs to be fixed asap though its really bad the others you can fix with the save editor have no idea how to fix the 3rd one at all.

Sav & Co KNOW that whatever mods get made WILL be better than any trash they could ever add into CoC2. They KNOW for a fact they'll be embarrassed by the quality of the mods as compared to the slop they churn out

This game has been out for what?, six or seven years?, most games with that longevity have a modding community keeping them fresh and pumping more fan content, but not this one, instead, there's a process to add fan content that can lead to nowhere and only from time to time, we know about people who got to participate

That in itself would be fine and dandy if it weren't from their own writers leaving and them abandoning whole arcs, characters, quests and many other things. We constantly jump from the next big thing to the next big thing cutting corners and padding stuff with one time characters

There's a declive in quality, but patreon money won't dry, so they don't need to care, yet

They don't need to acknowledge any mod, ever, just let people play with their already public toys. A simple, "we only work in the main game and know nothing about the mods", should suffice to let everyone know that every weird fuckery added by the fans is out of their control

I just can't accept that professionals and semi professionals writers are so afraid of online random putting out his own original script that might do nothing, that's just petty

Got to try the mod maker, failed to install it last time so I have to try again, maybe implement the super fun quest for my named kids as practice or a full ntr mod for Cait, in which she actually leaves the champion for someone else let's say... One of her dad's friends who is into the whole, "sacred harlots are my waifus" scheme, but was actually a cultist all along, and evil kitsune know as "The Watcher" who hates the champion being a nobody who now is protecting the world, and you fight them, to death (final move is Brienne and Kiyoko using the power of eternal love for u), I'm pretty sure they would let me do that one.
