Much as Savin's a bit of a bitch, I do recall some prints of him pointing that out. Goku did get it right.

Now, don't get me wrong, things can be more complex and there probably is an aspect of control involved... but as far as I recall, modding to CoC2 has been fairly recent and Savin did get fussy over one mod for CoC1, possibly the hgg one if I'm not misremembering.

The guy from that mod has been around here in the past, he'll have a better memory than a lurker like me.

Savin and Co., got mad some online randoms asked questions about the mods and things he wasn't part of and decided that moding was the devil (and while is reasonable to try and keep their distance from content that could hurt their imagine, what's left of that image at least, the truth is that they could just call it fan content and be done with it)

He also got assmad at Kitteh for wanting to deliver on the Hellspawn incest and even threatened to ban him and delete the Mod thread off the forums if that happened. Kitteh I think was pretty disliked by the team which is wild and undeserved.
We're lucky /hgg/ came in and told him to go fuck himself later on, since it wasn't on the forums it can deliver that promised content if they want. And that makes Savin rage like a damn pansy. (Idk where Kitteh is as he vanished from the forums but plz come here we'll welcome you and your chagrin. Speaking as someone who got Savin's ire (was stated earlier in the thread during the hive revamp shit), I don't blame him for dipping but man.)

No. The "prints" you remember were all Savin's bootlickers saying shit in this very thread without providing any sources. This excuse about lolis and stuff was invented by them to use as a strawman after the fact. Nobody ever brought up that "issue" about mods, ever. Not a single other fucking game had this "issue" either.
It was always about authocratic desire for control and owmership. As Savin didn't own the mods people made, he could not enforce his precious, untouchable, futadom dickgirls onto people. So he was really mad about not being able to dictate his way to others.
That is the only reason why he banned mods, and any other excuse his bootlickers may bring up is them throwing sand into your eyes.

I doubt anyone will ever look at CoC2 as reference for future projects, but the post-mortem for this really should have the phrase "Don't be an ass" at the top.

It's sad because of how avoidable this all feels. You see this shit happen on the regular to alot of games. I didn't care because I wasn't invested, but I am in this. It's like watching someone who has everything they need to make a good sandwich, but they completely ignore those things and add shit only that, like, which would be fine, but they are serving that to the customer. Like shitty work in progress game devs are a dime a dozen now and days. I just wished this happened to another more obscure game, not something that preyed on my nostalgia and gave me nothing for it. It's a damn shame.

How fucking insecure can you be? I would be happy someone is picking up my slack, but I feel the reason there is was so much push-back is because savin KNEW in his heart that what he did was fucking lame. I hate people who just won't be honest to people, I hate even more when they don't even try to make a excuse but instead try to move on like the shit didn't happen.

It wouldn't have even been a big deal if he just said he decided against it during that time. Butnow the wound is too infested so there's really nothing that's going to fix with that wouldn't take ALOT of effort on his part.

For example, if you don't get knocked up with Ryn's kid like Alypia wants, other named characters like Elthara will be FORCED to because Alypia can't stand not having Ryn's kid be attached to someone "important".

If there was an option to outright get rid of mandatory (Cait, Brint, etc) companions, I would always kill off Cait and Etheruined. There's no salvaging for Etheruined with how thoroughly Alypia parasitised herself onto the character.
For all their faults, you can just never let the kitsune out of the orb, never resurrect the phoenix, never recruit the witch, genderbend the minotaur, never rescue the rabbit man and destroy the orcs' camp. You can't do anything of the sort to Etheruined.

She’s not after lifestyle changes), and would require a LOT of backproofing. Third off, I wouldn’t write either of those things because I don’t like either of those things. Matter of fact statements like in that 3rd paragraph annoy me. Just automatic blanket intent. Just because people don't care to go through official channels. Doesn't mean it's for malicious reasons. Or my stuff wouldn't be up to snuff. If I'm able to do something quickly or want to purely on my own time. No agreements or expectations set for their team. Why wouldn't I just go the modding plug and play route? Instead of dealing with other people.

On top of that, haven't we had writers pop in from time to time. Talking about how their stuff hasn't been looked at and is still stuck in the pipeline? Ain't even just a CoC2 thing, I've seen people talk about it with TiTS too. Again, if I'm quick and my stuff ready to go. But I gotta wait around for you, I might as well just do it myself if I'm capable.

I mean it's their game to with as they please. And it is what it is. But when people tell me the "actual" reasons for why I want to do something. Yea.... no.
