So, when and where can we nerd out on Regency military uniforms for Shirley? For one million dollars, I also better be getting my own regiments of Hussars and Dragoons. Yes. Plural. Toss me a couple of lancers in there, too. I know he pre-dates this Era by a couple of years, but I want that John Burgoyne level of "acquired acclaim" sans the humiliating loss. In case anyone else reads this other than Professor Historian, Burgoyne also lived out that mistress life that Professor Historian is talking abut incorporating into the game. Think more illicit affair(s) with some regality than full blown slice of life eroge. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Joking aside, I'll get her in an uniform
I've been doing exclusive renders for players for a while now, I can create one of Princess Shirley in an uniform tomorrow morning for you if you want It's not free though unfortunately. If you prefer waiting, then you will have to wait for NapoleonSo, when and where can we nerd out on Regency military uniforms for Shirley? Is there any milf or queen I can fuck?
Well, that sounds more like a you issue. Back in the day, young men travelled the world to get away from their families and first thing on their minds isn't wholesome. "I'm a man now, so, I will fuck all the women I want, drink as much as I want and no one can tell me anything. Because I'm a man!"One thing I really dislike about the game is that canonically MC lived a life of debauchery, it kinda makes it.. not fulfilling to play him as someone romantic. And that is a SINGLE line of text that ruins it all for me. It is this slide right here:

The game does let the player decide on the kind of person they want to be:

And it would be nice if the game let the player decide IF they were a fuckboy in the past or not.
Just my two cents. Because for me personally a fuckboy turning into a romantic is not fulfilling, you either stick to that conviction or not. It is kinda like the saying ''you can't make a housewife out of a hoe'', I feel the same exact way about fuckboys, and that is a block for me that gets in the way of roleplaying MC as someone who is deeply romantic and enjoying it.
True, but irrelevant.Back in the day, young men travelled the world to get away from their families and first thing on their minds isn't wholesome. "I'm a man now, so, I will fuck all the women I want, drink as much as I want and no one can tell me anything. Because I'm a man!"
It absolutely is, but it is always a ''you'' issue when it comes to taste. What I am advocating for is giving the player a choice. Realize that it is only one single slide that sets that backstory, which if changed to be either ambiguous and left for player to decide their own headcanon or if player is given the choice to select a backstory which again takes only one slide of text would expand the game to fit a much broader taste.Well, that sounds more like a you issue.
Professor Historian is going for in his game is realism of the time period. So, no. It's not a me issue. But a you issue. I wasn't trying to be offensive in my post. But the time period doesn't have the same 2020s morality and can't be judged as such. We're lucky he gave us the choice of what type of person we are/want to be.True, but irrelevant.

Your point is that every single man during a certain point in history behaved exactly the same. There were plenty of hopeless romantics in every era.Professor Historian is going for in his game is realism of the time period.
I said that when it comes to tastes it is always the issue of the observer. It is always a you issue. Do you like big tits or small tits? Do you want more missionary scenes or more doggy scenes? Do you want the protagonist to be a virgin, a fuckboy or someone in between? Those are all tastes, and when it comes to whatever preferences you have it is always a you issue, not ''YOU'' you, not in our current conversation but in general. So, no. It's not a me issue. But a you issue.
Debauchery doesn't just mean sex, it means extreme indulgence in bodily pleasures, which includes partying, drinking, doing drugs, etc. Traditionally young noblemen would leave for a tour of Europe at some point before they got married, and just like a lot of young men in the history of the world, they partied, got drunk, and had sex with prostitutes. Of course, it doesn't mean all boys, but in an adult game, I thought it was a pretty apt background. One thing I really dislike about the game is that canonically MC lived a life of debauchery, it kinda makes it.. not fulfilling to play him as someone romantic. Your character is a romantic because you decide he is. He can still be a fuckboy. And people are not monoliths. The death of his father, the weight of the responsibilities thrust upon him, and having Napoleon fresh in his mind when it's his duty to man and defend a strategic castle can make a man out of a boy pretty fast.Just my two cents. Like with his childhood friend for example, I feel like he is beneath her and doesn't deserve her.
Nah you can still be a hoe and romantic. I don't like fuckboys either but debauchery does not equal fuckboy/asshole.One thing I really dislike about the game is that canonically MC lived a life of debauchery, it kinda makes it.. not fulfilling to play him as someone romantic. aka SimpsYour point is that every single man during a certain point in history behaved exactly the same. There were plenty of hopeless romantics in every era.
That is absolutely true, it is the part that says ''making sure I was a virgin as little as possible'' that solidifies what kind of debauchery it was.Debauchery doesn't just mean sex, it means extreme indulgence in bodily pleasures, which includes partying, drinking, doing drugs, etc. Traditionally young noblemen would leave for a tour of Europe at some point before they got married, and just like a lot of young men in the history of the world, they partied, got drunk, and had sex with prostitutes. That is also true. What I am saying is, for me personally as someone who is a sucker for sweet romance, the same way that a girl who has had a very promiscuous past is not attractive as a romantic partner, the same way an MC who has had a very promiscuous past is not attractive to be played as a romantic partner. I am not opposed to playing him as a fuckboy, I like to replay games and make different choices, and he fits that well, but I can't pair him with his childhood friend for example as his promiscuous past makes him a bad partner for her in my eyes, she deserves someone without a promiscuous past.Your character is a romantic because you decide he is. He can still be a fuckboy. And people are not monoliths. The death of his father, the weight of the responsibilities thrust upon him, and having Napoleon fresh in his mind when it's his duty to man and defend a strategic castle can make a man out of a boy pretty fast.
Thank you for the consideration. For people like me, all that would have to be changed is that one slide and nothing else. I actually think that if you would remove the line mentioned above that would already fix it as we both agree that debauchery in and of itself can mean different things and is more ambiguous. At the end of the day the game is yours and it is your choice.Your idea of having the possibility to choose a background is a good one though. I don't know if I can implement it this late, but I'll keep it in mind.
Something, something pair-bonding.Nah you can still be a hoe and romantic.
Something, something everybody's different.Something, something pair-bonding.
