She could also say, "I don't want to talk to you, I just want my cross back."is it really a cliffhanger? there are only 2 outcomes: she wants to tell you that she will think about what you said, she wants to tell you the same thing she already said at the beach but she waited at the train station to do it?

General thoughts on cliffhangers not related to the quote above:
Cliffhangers can be useful, and this one *is* fairly mild, but it shouldn't be leaned on too much. They can leave a bad taste in people's mouths and cause people to stew on the possible negativity that might come after for a long time. Sometimes an update should end on a cliffhanger, but also sometimes it should end on a high note to give positive anticipation to the coming events. It can be a balance.
