Karen shows a lot of the traits of such a person, and a lesbian cuck too. There is cuckquean in this game? thats rare.
Sorry to hear this! Keep the faith, and who knows, perhaps we will see it come back to life and you will be able to finish it.Some Bad News:
In the best interest of being upfront and transparent with people, unfortunately, I'm going to have to request the mods to mark this project as abandoned.
I hate to do that as I very much want to complete the project. Nobody is more upset about this than I am.
My heart says one thing, but my brain sadly knows other things are true.
Reasons:
1) Lack of funding on Patreon. As I'm writing this the Patreon page is only making like $54 a month. Not to sound ungrateful, but that is really low for a project of this scope with the number of positive reviews it has. It's practically completely unfunded as I type this.
2) Sin had changed the Patreon page to be all about the other game. I asked him like a week ago to toss at least something about Damaged Goods on the Patreon. He never got around to it. Since then funding has dropped from about $100 to about $50 monthly in half.
3) Sin hasn't been completing my requested render orders to move the story forward in Damaged Goods in a timely way. We never made enough money so I could get a render machine too, so I can't do that (I got a shitty laptop that can't render). I haven't seen 1 new Damaged Good render since the last Damaged Goods release.
I did what I could as long as I could to keep it alive, but I gotta pronounce it dead now.
I don't want people to get mad or blame Sin. Things may change in the future, and the game may come back to life if things change for the better, but for now, it's dead until further notice.
I suppose you are probably right that Onhold may be a more accurate tag. It just felt to me like the game was abandoned because like you said I sent the script 3 weeks ago, and you haven't even shown me a render or talked about it or given a prerender since(but to be fair you did have a water leak. for a segment of that.) Then couple that with the fact you haven't made a DG post on Patreon in over a month when I specifically asked you to do that about a week ago. The stagnant lack of progress has had me down. This information is also unexpected for me and feels a bit strange
That's why I would like to make a short statement about it:
I can understand Yih not wanting to leave players dangling with unnecessary expectations. This attitude is fine.
I have the same attitude as well. Why you have to abandon the game 3 weeks after sending the script is a mystery to me.
An (UnHold) I might have understood.
I personally do not really think the reasons given are well documented:
1) Funding
First, DG with a FC is a completely new game terrain, in which it is much much more difficult to exist at all. MC are still number one. The market just needs some more time for FC games to reach the same reach as MC's.
Of course, revenue is currently just a hot drop in the bucket. But it's about moving on. Building a community. Money is secondary at first. If, then I had the expenses as an artist. But as I said, I'm all about generating a great gaming experience. And if it means I just have to eat chicken salad for a week, then I'll do it Because I just have mega fun bringing things to the screen.
2) Patreon
At the moment the focus is on Wings of Silicon. Nevertheless DG can also be found on the Patreon site. And every Patreon also gets the game (so both).
3) Sin
What may seem like this in terms of content, but is not completely correct. On 4/16 I got a rough draft for the next part of DG. As I told Yih, I will first work on Day2 WoS. So that I don't render in parallel on 2 games. After that I have time for DG again. I don't know if it's coincidence or intention....
But I'm done with the renders for Wings of Silicon (only small things). Yesterday evening I finished it. I was able to create over 400 renders in 3 weeks. So I give everything. This morning I learn that the game has been abandoned. This hits me hard, of course. As I said, an (UnHold) I might have understood.
What makes DG so hard to render?
Clearly --> the high number of characters.
I have a 1080ti with 11gb vram. You can certainly imagine that the gpu gets to its load limit with the complex scenes with 4+ Genesis 8 females and that render times get very very long. The long production process is solely due to the hardware and the complex storywriting.
Summary
Personal:
The whole abandoned article has the bitter taste of sin-bashing. Don't you think so? Reading through the thread as an uninvolved person, I would 100% say Sin is to blame. I asked other people in the community before and they noticed the same thing.
Now you know my view of things and can understand it better.
DG:
I already said recently that DG is not dead to me. And I continue to work on it. Just the countless hours I've put into character development.... Otherwise it would have all been for the garbage can.
In my opinion, one (UnHold) would have been more than enough. The game and all the work throwing over board, I just do not understand at this point.
An (UnHold) could have been justified and promptly remove again. But a complete abortion seems somehow so final.
btw: it occurs to me, when I came into contact with Yih back then (my first little demo: admittedly that was really shit... the engine was so bad , but the renders were nice) and I was not yet really here on f95 on the road, was without asking me also directly the demo aborted. I was also not the thread owner at the time and I didn't know what effect that would have. If now for the 2nd time an abortion in my name takes place, without that I can do something against it, I consider that very very sad. 1. I believe in the project. 2. we can talk about everything and 3. you are the most important ones.
The whole case spoiled my Sunday. Furthermore, the fact that the whole matter has to be discussed here in public is, in my opinion, the wrong way to go about it. Nevertheless, it is important that you have the necessary information.
As I said, this is not about assigning blame, nor is it about having a fight with Yih.
I am just worn down and need time for myself to think about how to proceed.
Sin
I'm sorry for your loss, mate!I suppose you are probably right that Onhold may be a more accurate tag. Nobody is bashing you, and I specifically said for people to not get mad at you or blame you. That's generally not the way you rally people to bash someone.
To be completely honest a big part of my previous post was to motivate you to work on DG again, and stop neglecting it. My apologies if this ruined your Sunday. I have just been in a depressed/shitty mood since my grandpa died last week so may be blowing things out of proportion.

My condolences for your grandpa. Regardless, airing dirty laundry to try and motivate them doesn't seem like the best option. This misunderstanding seems like it could have been easily solved if you just communicated a bit betterTo be completely honest a big part of my previous post was to motivate you to work on DG again, and stop neglecting it. i was about to write the same. please next time speak to eachother before writing some news here.My condolences for your grandpa. At current levels of revenue generation, it's ridiculous to consider myself or Sin to be "Greedy". If we were making over $1,000 a month and bitching because it's not $1,500 or $2,000 or $10,000 you would have a very solid argument, and I would agree with you. However, if you look at the Patreon income it's a very low $53 a month and has been stagnant in the $50 - $100 range for several months now.Greed ruins games, $$$ kills another promising title.
Devs: just like the porn industry, you have to accept that the amount of people willing to pay you for your content monthly is going to be like 1% of the people who play your game, and that 1% of 100% - 99% of *them* don't give a fuck if your game doesn't exist, they'd just go to pornhub or any one of the millions of other options that don't cost money.
Now yes, we're all adults (lmao I can't keep a straight face here) and in a perfect world adults will pay for the content they like to ensure more of it.... but lets talk about value here
Your game isn't worth $15 a month.... or $10... probably not even $5 - if this upsets you, that's too bad, but you aren't the only dev who clearly doesn't understand why this is the case so let me explain why it isn't worth that:
Not now, not until maybe 2-3 years from now when it's got over 100x the content and a complete story and/or hours and hours of replayability will it be TRULY worth subbing to. The people who currently do are doing it to support YOU, not the game most likely.... And just to put in context, "games that are worth paying for"....? Currently maybe 3 adult games like this exist across all types (2d hentai, 3dcg, western, NTR, sandbox, story, whatever), and out of those three.... all 3 have financial issues still, even with the ones like DMD where the guy claims to be making enough money to buy cars. bear in mind they can do that with their 1% of the 1% of the playerbase. Until you can do the same, frankly you should get used to not making money.
Also, people who want to play these kinds of games often want something to get off to, whether it's 20 mins long or 20 hours. When literally anyone with an internet connection and a graphics card more recent than 2003 can download daz or blender or whatever and run it then your competition is: literally anyone who wants to make 3d renders / renpy games / whatever. It's a very low bar. Every day your competition increases, yet due to the mechanics of making games, your games quality does not - it can only increase every update. Which, with most developers on this site, are completely random. Even the "best devs" sometimes take months of radio silence and so on and so forth.
Then you've got to take into account "why would they pay for my game when twitch / chaturbate / pornhub / manyvids / onlyfans / [insert 1 of millions of other websites] cater to ALL the fetishes and wants in existance and my game doesn't!" <--- now this ones obviously quite complex, these games all have something drawing people in (or Even I wouldn't be here, would I?) but translating people playing your game into money is not an exact science, NOR IS IT RELIABLE. You cannot and should not be judging the popularity of your game OR whether or not it's worthwhile to make on whether or not people are subbing to your patreon. That is a BONUS., it should not be your FOCUS, which it clearly is, which means you can't ever succeed.
Then finally you have to consider trust:
Why should any of us trust you to actually deliver on promises when so many of the absolute "best of the best" VN / adult games end up onhold/abandoned just the same as the ones that never made any money? Why should we trust you when 99.9999999% of the time, despite being consumers of mainly free content, we are the ones who get burned, not the devs?
if that puts you off making games, then, well good - the less people who are only in it for a paycheck the better.
This has been your public service announcement.
PS: For what it's worth the game is very good, far higher quality than the average "dev made it with 1 hand down their pants" trash most of this site is comprised of.
Rest in peace Damaged Goods! This is a little frustrating, the project had a lot of potential, but it cannot reach its financial start-up prospects and is thus canceled. Good luck with your next projects. Some Bad News:

Hey I didn't mean to come across as such an asshole, It just seemed that what with the overall quality of what you'd made, it would be a passion thing, rather than a money thing. At current levels of revenue generation, it's ridiculous to consider myself or Sin to be "Greedy". If we were making over $1,000 a month and bitching because it's not $1,500 or $2,000 or $10,000 you would have a very solid argument, and I would agree with you. Games may be free to play due to how common piracy is but they are not now nor have they ever been free to make.
Damaged Goods costs more to produce than it generates in income by about a scale of magnitude. This is without considering labor costs and only considering costs of electricity, assets, and necessary hardware to create renders that is with sin and I working for free as slave labor.
If just 1% of players paid $1 (or $5 if not broke) per month we would be just fine financially. We aren't making those numbers and that is all we want.
Currently, we have about 1,650 renders and 31 animations. You suggest we shouldn't think about getting paid until we have made 100 times that which is 165,000 renders and 3,100 animations (Which would make Damaged Goods the biggest adult game ever made in history by far being over 100 GB download) & you expect us at our current budget with our current team to be able to create 100 times what we created in 2 years time? In order to pull off that task, we need to start a cult and get a team of fanatics behind us also willing to work for free, and we just don't have enough Koolaid for our endgame there.
You are right that we are competing for "Simp Bucks" against pornhub, chaturbate, onlyfans, ect in a very saturated market. To some degree we probably compete with strip clubs, and streetwalkers too. Why should simps spend money on adult VN instead of on one of those? Well, what we do is very different from what they do. We use our brains where they just use their bodies. I get the simps love to be able to tell a girl that would not give them the time of day in real life to stick a finger up her butt while dressed up as wonder woman and that gets them off I really do understand that logic.
In our defense, a computer-generated girl will never get old and become unattractive. Ten years could pass in real time, and Rose wouldn't age a day. You will be able to control who she sleeps with and when. She is smarter than those bimbos, and has more personality. She will always love you even if you are poor or rich. That is why the "3dcg waifu" is far superior to the "cam whore" alternatives. Rose is never going to give you herpes selling you her used bath water, or break your heart, or cheat on you or neglect you. A lot of these girls working on webcams got a boyfriend or a pimp taking a lot of their money. What we make is "Art". What they make is "Porn".
Financially successful games going on hold or being abandoned is not a legitimate excuse as to not support a financially unsuccessful game. That's the same as saying, "What the point in going to the gym? Someone with a gun can just shoot you tough guy." That defeats the whole purpose. Plus that's not us.
And thanks for the PS. We are trying to make a good quality game here. Our level of positive feedback, and reviews does not reflect back in our earnings. We need more people who enjoy the game to step up, and help us keep it going.
Sin suffers financially from making the game, and so do I.
Excessive unpaid work can be very stressful. We look forward to the day when we are just slaves, and not making the game at a loss, but instead making it for free. So that's why it's not really fair to call us "Greedy".
I hope you recover from your loss, and I wish you best of luck. The game isn't dead. Just taking a small break from it as I'm grieving the loss of a loved one, and also I'm moving apartments, and Sin has the other game to work on. I feel like a dick for putting it on hold without saying anything to him first.
