in melody auntie and neighbor and izzy are those less used chars (besides antagonists) but story on them would need to happen quite a bit after melody, in dmd jennifer and elena (depending what happens to them after ch4), main antagonist and maybe 1-2 others not that used chars but interesting erotic game from those (besides j and e and model competition winner) might not be easy to make (hard to see that for example cassandra goes on sex spree). koko is different thing since so far we have seen only few glimpses of her but erotic game of her (after melody time) wouldn't work (doubt she would go bed hopping while she tours) so only before she she started her career.

well dots team has said that they might update dmd gen 3s to gen8s in sll someday. also it isn't out of picture that d+f wedding happens in sl too after it has happened in dmd (or crossover, weddings happen on dmd and after party in sl).DMD is generation 3 DAZ characters, MrDots is now using generation 8, so when D rides off into the sunset she is gone for good.
And the internet will be a colder place.

You are of course entitled to your opinion, but DMD has evolved into more than that. For a pure-route playing, I wouldn't even start playing chapter 4. The conclusion could have been made at the end of chapter 3, however he choose not to.Dolphin3000 said:

Sure, people have their own preferences. But D only route could not be finished in Chapter 3 exactly because the side characters took too much time and resources from the updates. So the main story never came to fruition. It is expected to be reached now in Chapter 4.
Some people think that in an erotic game once the main characters have sex, the game is over. It is not. If developers have imagination, that's when the game STARTS! That's when any sexual situation you can imagine can be materialized and make sense in the game! That's when the core of the game can be exploited to the max! In this case, the game is 'Dating My Daughter', so that's when the dates with his daughter can go as wild as they want!
Threesomes, foursomes, or dumping the daughter and pursuing another girl are detours from the game main story. These options are the ones that could have been finished in prior chapters. If they had to be included at all, since they're not part of the main story.
'Dating My Daughter' should not make the same mistake 'Babysitter' did. When 'Babysitter' reached the point where it could become an awesome game, it just finished. Without delivering all the sexual events that could have happened between the main characters. It felt like a premature ejaculation. A disappointment, not really fun.

They could have ended DMD with Chapter 2 and nothing much would have been missing.
I didn't like Chapter 3 at all and we haven't seen that much of chapter 4 yet.
I remain sceptic that they can pull of a satisfying ending.

If the player is interested in the main story: 'Father dating his daughter', no, finishing in Chapter 2 would not be satisfactory. Lots of sexy and sexual events that could have happened would be missing.
People have their own preferences. So, some may have enjoyed Chapter 3 while others may not.
Chapter 4, since it is supposed to be the last one, is the last chance devs have to deliver an awesome 'Father dating his daughter' game. They're doing it right when they:
- Are focusing on the main characters dates.
- Create and explore new sexy/sexual situations.
- Don't create artificial difficulties for the main characters to be together.
They are doing it wrong when they:
- Throw a sexual scene at the players without a prior sexy event to create the needed sexual tension.
- Don't give control to the players during sexy/sexual events. Players should always have options.
- Don't offer oral, anal or vaginal options when a sexual event involving the main characters starts.
The last part of the game is not the part for drama or grinding, it is the part for reward and enjoyment.
I believe devs can deliver a spectacular last chapter for 'Dating My Daughter' if they focus on the main story.

I made a patch which makes allows a user to update DMD Chapter 3 from v0.29.0 to v0.29.1.(I hate full downloads when unnecessary)
The diff content separation was done with a self-written python tool i call diff2patch and this is also a test for it before i put it in the wild. (For me all tests worked...so far) So try it please if interested and report the outcome, especially problems. The DL archive is in format tar/zstandard and of size 219,8 MiB. It should be able to update any OS variant where the user has write access.
Just unpack, copy in the v0.29 dir and choose overwrite. Work and packaging was done on linux, so this should be free of the "wrong" stuff:
