Lots of mixed opinions here......but personally, looking forward to the new game while simultaneously hopeful that we will see a lot more of DMD.....(Also love the new character, just my opinion but Melody looks hotter than the characters we saw on DMD)

Don't worry, we're nowhere near the pedophile area. Pedophiles like prepubescent kids. That's not the case of 16yo anymore. Even laws have no problem with that, see the age of consent, it's around 15yo in majority of the world. And that's real people.

Here we have only games, no real people. So why it should matter if fictional character looks under 18 is beyond me. There isn't even any standard for the right look for given age, because that's impossible. Look at the new Melody character (

), she looks plausibly anywhere between 15yo and 25yo. It's up to each individual what they want to see. It's like DMD's D, her balloons made her look older, but I always had the feeling that she either lied about her age or must be slightly "challenged". I'm not sure which one is worse.

But again, it's just fiction. Remember that the idea behind "underage is bad" used to be protecting children from abuse. There's no child to protect here. And where to stop is very simple, there's very clear border between fiction and reality, there are no doubts where one ends and the other one begins, so just use that. Failure to do so leads exactly to where we're now. First it was fictional children, then fictional incest, rape, ... And I can simply reuse your question for this, where do we as human society stop?

I absolutely agree with both of you. One more remarkable sentence: "...we will have to focus on the new game, DMD won’t be updated for a while so I thought maybe we should include some of the content that was going to be included in v0.18..." (R.I.P. v.18)
MrDots is very smart. All of his maneuvers (announcements and others) served only one purpose (IMO): to keep as many patrons as possible until the new project starts. And than - if the new project will be successful - no hope or any chance for DMD.
I'm very disappointed now. I'm really sorry, but I can't trust him anymore...

For what it's worth, I am currently writing some scenes for a future DMD release (0.20 more or less). Everybody in the team wishes that we'll be able to complete DMD the way we imagined it, but figuring out the best strategy is no easy task for MrDots.

No, I am afraid I am still not really involved with dmd chapter 2 - that is, I am not writing scenes following the usual monthly schedule, nor I am contributing much when it comes to the creation of new settings, new characters etc. (I still share my general ideas obviously, but it's up to the other members of the team to decide whether to work on them or not). That said, there are some scenes that I have been longing to write since I started working with MrDots more than a year ago (D's first orgasm was one of them, for example), and atm I am trying to work just on them, when/if I can, with no pressure at all. The scene I am currently working on, for example, is a sort of mini-game that could "unlock" one particular sexual act a couple of episodes before it becomes available in the "main" corruption progress.

That said, I have been fully involved with the ideation and planning of Melody from the get-go - times of crisis require the commitment of the team in its entirety I reckon - and I am really proud of/excited about it!

Yeah. A huge risk for MrDots is that people think he has somehow lost his "mojo". Never do I believe this! I don't even believe that such a lackluster title, "Melody" was anything like what the dev-team wanted but what Patreon was willing to approve.
D was showing lots of skin in her preview pics before DMD 0.01. Mel as a model seems cute enough but Patreon seems to want her not appearing too sexy (mission accomplished). People will pay/play for a MrDots project--we can all agree on his brilliance. Patreon is such a dead-weight on "Melody".
If Patreon oversight of projects becomes the rule, not the exception, devs better find an alternative ASAP...

i personally don't mind the cute look, as most games have been doing the sexy look too much so I think it would be refreshing, but fuck mainstream bullshit baised head up their arsehole media, because of their bullshit fact manipulation it forced patreon to do what they are doing to keep up their appearances, like everyone else i just wanna blast and hate on patreon but in reality they are probably just reacting to shitty media articles and shit.

Do you think real pedophilia, rape or incest is *any* worse than physical and/or mental torture or straight up murder?

All of it is illegal in reality, and if you still decide to rape or murder someone, you'll most likely face severe consequences.

And yet for some *strange* reason, I can waltz into a GameStop and buy GTA V where I can mass murder innocent people for my amusement, I can just find a perfectly legal streaming site and watch SAW movies where some sick fuck brutally tortures his victims, or I can just turn on the TV and I bet my left kidney some will be murdered on the screen during the following hour, but that's fine too, because it's all fictional!

So either Dots leaves Patreon--less than "ideal" but better than nothing--to continue with a proven money-maker, DMD, or he sells the franchise--lock, stock, files, assets--to a different studio.
One way or another, DMD will be continued. Big question : When?

As someone who's been using Windows since the very beginning - I really don't think "worked out of the box" can be applied very well until *really* recently.

As to Linux - it's cheap - does everything a modern OS should and doesn't keep fucking up your settings by arbitrarily trying to force updates down your throat. But that's all OT really.

As to running DmD under Linux - I always just pulled the Linux binaries from another game and renamed the relevant sh/script files (two of them IIRC). Pretty simple. I'll package that up and stick it somewhere in a bit.

Just unzip those into your DMD directory and run the shell and it should work fine.

Devs don't want to do that. Besides potential legal and financial hurdles currently handled by Patreon.
The Patreon "system" is just too awesome for devs : recurring pledges ; tiered levels ; pledging to a studio rather than a project.
Your proposal would "kill the golden goose" that is this system. As is, a new studio can get rich off one project. Without that incentive, far fewer projects would even start in the future.

but sorry if you put DMD on a site as I said and on patreon the new game would have money from patreon to finance the new project and any other revenue from the DMD site ... Do not you think?

Another possibility is by more preview pics even of characters that have yet to appear in the game.
Perhaps the biggest appeal in DMD for many players was the sheer quantity of vivid female characters--Elena, Jennifer, Georgina, Olivia, Koko, Margo, Rachel. Some players even preferred--I highly disagree!--these babes to D. If the amount of tease is less in the game, this would be a way to help restore it.

Well we won't get that big cast of girls probably if the game will be like 17-18 episodes.Teasing will be less tof course we will need to work harder for Melody but sex with secondary characters probably will be way early than DmD/0.12-Georgina,in 0.14 he add sex with Olivia on day 9/.
Also I'm happy that we get much more content for 0.17.That make it 100% sure we get to level 9 corruption-cunnilingus and/or blowjob.

I have no problems with some waiting.Last 7-8 months MC in most games don't have sex before 0.6 or 0.7.Seems we get more VN and erotic games than porn games.No complaining-A Wife and a Mother,High Rise Climb and Milf's Tale are my last 3 additions to game with high expectations.Will be glad to add Melody too.

There is no site at the moment that most devs are willing to commit to away from Patreon. A dev from another game was in this thread Monday and said a group of devs were evaluating 3 different payment platforms as options. So your proposal is not considered viable at the moment.
A small studio is NOT churning out two projects concurrently with monthly updates. Besides, many people would choose one or the other to support, but not both. MrDots had to promise Patreon to de-couple it from DMD. So, that's another problem--MrDots has chosen to remain purer-than-pure.
So, it's not just one problem but a whole series of problems. No easy fix (and 100s of proposals have been advanced).

Yes, I read the forum, even that of BB where more or less the same proposals were put forward but I thought to adopt the same principle of those open source sites where next to the program you can download is a button with written donated for support the project and software development ... I wondered if it was not possible to do the same thing ... now I'm not an expert on these things and surely Mrdots and the other developers who are experiencing this situation on their skin will know certainly more and if they are making certain decisions and following certain directions a more than valid reason there will be ..... I apologize if my proposal was received as insistent and inappropriate I absolutely did not want to ... sorry again.
