I just don't see how career paths is going to be implemented so late in the game's creation. It should've been done from the gecko and it seems MrDots has his story all over the place. For a game that is titled Dating My Daughter I expect the game to focus on the Father / Daughter or Mother / Daughter on that alone. It's fascinating b/c there is zero necessity for the career paths choice.

That is basically the definition of "Milking out Patreons". It would all be good if the content scaled like it should and not do what its doing. For very long time I heard mostly negative things about DMD. Went into 0.12 and loved it. The ending for 0.13 and MrDots focus is not good at all. It's a porn game and people will leave if the game doesn't meet up to those expectations. Surprised the game lasted as long as it did. If I had been playing this from Version 0.01 and ended up with 13Months of patches like that was released. It's a bit embarrassing for MrDots as a developer.

You are leaving the DMD project? So wait is this game being developed by multiple story writers? I am a bit confused. You seem to say that you know how the project going but now you are leaving it? Care to elaborate why?

I used to be a patron for the game, since v.3. Over the time, I liked it so much that I decided to offer my help as a scriptwriter. I have collaborated with mrdots for the last seven instalments, but it's not my main job, not by far. I have a PhD to finish so all my energies will go there for the next year. There are three or four other scriptwriters involved in the project - you would know if you checked the credits of the game. I might go back on working on dmd in a year or so. In the manwhile I'll just hare my ideas on the game and try to help with developing the story, but I won't write proper scenes anymore. I just know what we have been discussing so far, as i already stated the gist of dmd story was already planned months ago. Plans might change obviosuly. At any rate, I am not an official spokeperson for mrdots studio. Consider me a freelancer who helped a project he believed into.

just one thing regarding usual milking/blueballing/losing tons of patreons...
i'm a patron of mrdots,as i can see he is approaching 4000 patrons,which is amazing,all this talk about him milking/blueballing or whatever is annoying,i don't want to pick fights,your opinion differs with mine and it is ok,but increasing number of patrons,i'll include myself,means that we love the game the way it is now,slow,believable progression without needless rushing of things,lot of attention to story and characters,little things like their dialogues,facial expressions,internal monologues,struggles regarding their emotions,attraction,actions and in the end relationships,daughter being too naive,her limited knowledge about sex,her slowly falling for dad and fully opening herself for him,that cliffhanger at the end of this update etc etc..
all of that and many other things makes this game a bit or a lot different than others and i hope mrdots and the team will continue with development just the way it is now
if all of this is not your cup of tea and you think this game is only blueballing/milking till judgement day then you're playing the wrong kind of game,there are many other games where the pace is faster and plot simpler to get to sex scenes

and regarding mrdots losing TONS of patrons with the way he currently develops the game,i highly doubt it,he would lose tons of patrons in my opinon if he suddenly abandons current story progression and decides to rush things without explanation to swinging or gangbangs

Incest, even if legal where they lived, is still a social taboo and the daughter is a hell of a lot younger than the father.

They could never let anyone know what is going on so if it did turn into a full on relationship they would have to cut all ties with everyone they know and leave the town.

Then you've got a girl that's just woken up to her sexuality and with a far older man ... sooner or later she's going to want someone younger.

In games there is some degree of suspension of disbelief but no matter how you twist it, incest is still a social taboo and a girl that young is going to want more out of life eventually.

It just seems incredibly far fetched to imagine that kind of happy ending. It would need a hell of a lot mental gymnastics to make an ending like that seem even remotely plausible.

That entire run on sentence actually is giving me a headache to read properly. Please fix that. @wrx21 . Btw I know many ppl who were patreons but left recently. I seen the graph for his patreon page and I noticed he stopped showing his money. When a dev stops showing their earnings its a bad omen. Don't care what you think.

Btw look up higher at what I quoted. He is Abandoning on the main story for a few updates. That's at least 2 months minimum that he won't be working on the main story just so he can go back and fix the career path mechanic that is non-existant. I seriously doubt it will only take 2 updates to do that. Since the game will literally need to be rewritten.

I believe you can't understand why people kept supporting the project these last 13 months. But I do, mrdots does, and most importantly patrons do, so that's ok. If you started considering internet communities as a good meter to judge the general appreciation of something, well you would be gravely misguided. To make an example that somehow concerns me, you would expect a lot of redpillers in university divulging their "scientific truths". Luckiky instead, gender studies keep being taught and followed, even though apparently everybody scorn them on the internet. Not sure it was a good example.

One of them actually wants to create his own game and is going about it differently. But not going into details. I am very deep in the modding / gaming support community. I refuse to use sites like 4chan or 8chan for sources unless its strictly info or tutorials on how to do something. OTherwise I don't even waste my breath there.

Also if you read my previous statements even those that said negative things about DMD for quite a few months I waited to try it out myself at update 0.12 version. From what I played was very little and not really entertaining. I actually got a kick out of 0.12 but if I was a patreon and got 0.13 I would have immediately stopped pledging. Sooo many ppl do not like the pace of the game.

First of many things about the daughter is just dead wrong. How is it that a girl who is 18 years old be that sheltered and not know really anything especially if she hung out with a friend who knows everything of it.

I don't care if you go to an all girls school you would at least tried to experiment in some fashion. To be entirely naive and oblivious is not possible at all. I did my research and waited it out to see how good it was or how bad. I seen what happens to patreons who pull these kind of stunts. It won't last.

Dad (who is about 40 years old) is consciously consistently manipulating an severely mentally undeveloped 18 year old into performing sexual acts for nothing else than to satisfy his own urges. The mechanic you speak of isn't done in one update. I would know. Coding of that nature isn't cut and dry. I don't know what makes you think it is but its not. Especially when that mechanic hasn't even been used at all in the game.

You should read teh walkthru and notice the statements. There is many branches in the game. You can choose to go with elana and georginia and so forth and get locked out of Daughter content or go with daughter and get locked out of others. That's the definition of branching.

In fact look up the mod for DMD it shows how it allows you to get all branches done in one playthru in one save. Branching is in this game heavily. If you haven't noticed it then I am sure you missed out on a lot of content yourself.

The only difference between father and daughter's love and any other couple's love is the taboo element in it. Well taboo is cultural, so no harm done to the real love essence. There can be real love between any male/female couple.
(We're talking about DMD father/daughter's love, not the usual, socially accepted father/daughter's love)
