I had given up on this topic, since I dont even play this game anymore... But why is this reason always thrown around ? Explain to me why Martin's stupidass line from chapter 1 "totally foreshadows sharing"... And I mean from a narrative standpoint, and not because of a gameplay mechanic... we know letting Martin compliment Dee is the trigger for his stupidass path. I am asking why should people that know how to read and comprehend things should accept this as the trigger ?
So say me and you are friends.. I am in my 50's... lets say your close to my age, and we have been friends for 10 years... you introduce me to your 18 year old daughter... I "politely as your friend" compliment your barely legal daughter with a "well arent you a pretty young lady"... DMD was supposed to be a much shorter VN where D was to be corrupted by F into participating in more and more extreme fetishes. Therefore the title Dating My Daughter indicates not a D+F monogamy, but rather what fetishes F gets D to take part in. It's a F perspective POV VN so logically what each definition of the term "dating" is from F's point of view and if that point of view includes D doing it with a donkey then gas on.

Because it is a game! A game produced in Ren'Py has mechanics that trigger future events. This was Mr. Dots first game. He listed all of the potential fetishes at the beginning of the production. MMF and FFM were listed. He worked on paths to create those events. (Except for beastiality) Now through the slow burn those events are coming to fruition. Some people will enjoy all the events that D gets to be involved with. Some will not. Most contested events are optional! So, yes it may seem like a minimal event triggered an outside interest for D way back when, but that is how it got us to here and now. Was it clumsy? Yes, but once again, it was Mr. Dots first game. He and his crew are now on their third game. Production has improved. He would have probably done things different now, but he has to live with it and move on.
As for friends of parents leering at their younger daughters, I have been party to improper talk by those friends through my many years. I hope they meant it in a cordial manner, but it still came out rather creepy. Luckily none of those friends ran off with those daughters. (Nor their fathers with their own daughters.) It was still a few words that could have been spoken better at that time. (or not spoken at all.) Martin came off to D as someone more interesting to her after that instance in Chapter 1. That bounced around in her mind just like a bad Koko pop song. And now as her workout buddy, more of those thoughts have come to light. In a Father/D path, they are just thoughts. We all have them and do nothing to act on them. In a more open path, Martin is a really nice guy and D has seen his penis. That never goes away.

People don't mind having different possibilities and different paths. They just don't want a decent story and worthy characters to turn into a farce by the injecting some of "trigger" tendencies from other paths, that begin to distort not only the "clean" path itself, but the impression of the main characters, and the original story itself (the base of this game). And it`s a game, remember? Always possible to play hundreds of games, where so easy to do sharing or everything else. For this it is not nesessary to broke the original DMD main story. IMO, again.
