The project won’t be canceled but we will work at a slower rate than when we’re on Patreon, mainly because we have to look for another payment alternative and we’ll also have to focus on the new game as well. But don’t worry, DMD will be finished no matter what!

I don't get this. Why does there have to be a game which demands actual effort and therefore slows develomepent of DMD? I thought the "new game" serves just as dummy.

Wow.... what a rollercoaster. First reading about the Revenge of the Patreon and the unknown future of DmD... a few sites later... A new Hope for everyone and that DmD will finished.
Maybe not sending only your support to him but suggestions of what he can do for his game. There were a few interesting concepts posted in this thread for further evaluation...

But nontheless I'm very happy that the game will have a future

The new game is going to be an actual new game and not a ruse. They’ve been playing with several ideas over 2017 per their statements. Whatever product posted on Patreon will be a real viable high quality product. Perhaps it will be better than DMD in one way - the full design team was present from the start.

That being said, my worry is do they have the capacity to carry two products in a sufficient manner. Ive given my suggestions on how to makes DMD Chapter 2 rewritten so it lasts 10 episodes or less, followed with a Chapter 3 series of chapters released every 3 months to cover the end of storylines set up in Chapters 1 & 2.

Seeing this when i got up and on the computer this morning almost made me lose my breakfast. I mean this literally made me sick to my stomach. This game is what got me into the Vn type of games a few months back and i have been a patreon of Mr.Dots since then. I will follow him with what ever he decides to do. and will fund DmD how ever i can where ever he decides to take the game. And with what ever other projects he does cause he and his crew are just excellent creators.

Sad to hear about DMD no longer being on Patreon. But I kinda saw it coming and that makes me wonder about other games that did similar things as MrDots. Based on what I saw from his initial post regarding what he was doing it seems this can cause disruption in a few others that followed suit.

I haven't played since 0.12 I think though I might need to pick up 0.14 and start Ch2 to see how it progressed. Just been busy working and such.

Wow, DarkCookie is the Nº 12 with +23.000 $ and 7.600 patrons... And he is doing a incest game too... I wonder if he´s in danger too or if he's such a big shot that Patreon is going to leave him in peace.

He's in a better spot, since the title of his game doesn't make it obvious, and it's only one strand of a bunch of plotlines, IIRC (I only played it once and didn't much care for it). So they might tell him to remove the incest and he probably could do so relatively easily and still have a saleable product.

I doubt that he's like, 'too big to mess with' or anything like that, though. AFAIK Fenoxo Fen has the biggest revenue of adult creators at $31,628 per month. 31,628 x .05 = $1581.40 per month. That's roughly what he's worth to Patreon, which isn't much, honestly.

Just went on their website, it seems a clone of Patreon.
Any idea why he (or any other creator) shouldn't just transfer everything there and link the site (through google if necessary) on his Patreon page? I bet that leaving a message like "Guys this is my new workplace, of you want DMD to keep living transfer here: .." for a few months would keep 80% of his patrons or more.

It's amazing that this happened to bb and now mrdots. I've said it before, i'll say it again after reading the last several pages of this thread, none of them are going to be allowed to remain on patreon. I wish most of the devs had listened to everyone trying to tell them to find alternative ways to get their games out to their patrons, months ago when this all first started. Now, most of them will end up having to scramble to find just that. Odds are quite a few of them will being going on hiatus soon. Some may end up folding entirely over this and mrdots' idea to switch to a completely different game indicates just that. Scammer or milker or whatever people want to keep calling it (though i definitely think he was milking it a bit), he at least had support to develop the game. Now, he'll lose that support if he doesn't continue developing DmD on some other site. Even if he comes up with something that's just as good, people will not forget that he folded to a bunch of a pricks.

It was "Patreon strikes back" a few pages before, followed by announcement of "Return of the Daughter".

He might have to do like some others and change his patreon to something not as controversial, and continue to make DMD on a website for free. It could lose some money for the interim, but if the other game is a hit and conforms to the Patreon NAZI's rules. DMD can still be made as long as its is not referred to at all on the Patreon. He could just do art for all I know and put his game as an added on his website.

Hey guys!

I’m creating this post so that everyone can join in the discussion. I know I have many fans from other sites like f95zone, and I know there are people who can’t financially support me so I’d like to read everyone’s thoughts here.

As I said in my Patreon post, we will try to continue developing DMD on dmdgame.com. v.17 is going to be released in Mid-February to those who pledged during January. I’ve got your email addresses so I can add them to an email autoresponder.

Patreon has practically forced us to create another game in order to keep the page alive, so we can’t offer DMD there anymore. It was either that or seeing our account getting banned.

It’s not what we wanted, so we’ll see how that goes. But our main project will always be DMD.

We are looking at some potential solutions but for now, we are not entirely convinced. As much as I hate Patreon, they are the best and we might have to wait for a long while until we see some serious competition.

I’ll be reuploading Dating My Daughter: Chapter 1 and Ch.2 v.16 (Without censorship!) to site like Payhip, Gumroad, etc. tomorrow. I don’t know how long they will last, but at least those who didn’t like the censored game will be able to get the original one and also help us financially.

We knew this day would come eventually, and to be honest, I’m kinda glad that DMD is out of there. Patreon was killing my creativity, with all the censorship, the patches, and I’m not sure if my patience would have lasted much longer.

DMD will become Dating My Daughter again, and I’m really excited about that

Thank you for being a loyal fan of the game. I really appreciate that and those who experienced the first censorship wave, you know that I would never choose a big company over my fans.

I think that is exactly what he'll do though. He'll create an ending in march, the last release. And since he won't be getting money for it, it'll be the most heartless thing ever, leaving a bitter taste in everyone's mouth. It'll be the saddest wank in everyone's lives.

That's a tall order; I've had some very sad ones indeed.
