It would be disappointing if we get another announcement on the eve of the supposed update

It could unfortunately happen since the annoucement for the new game I don't give a shit about seems deadly serious. I hope it's just to comply with Patreon rules and just to look like a genuine game. I hope in fact he will make a playable 5mn demo with 12CGs thrown in and then resume work on DmD. But I'm beginning to seriously doubt it... On the other hand, he won't kill the cash making machine that is DmD. But we may end up with something like 2x slower updates for DmD if he decides to work seriously on the new game.

I'm sure MrDots will keep the community informed about his future plans regarding DMD.

Any idea if Melody will use Ren'Py like DmD?

Able coders in this thread said the DMD code was never "clean" from the start and kept getting worse. This continued until the mess in 0.16.
Unity, the other main option to Ren'py, has even more complicated code than Ren'py. So, it looks like Ren'py all the way...

As a Dev what is awkward sometimes is that Ren'py feels like it was written for people who don't code. I only say this because a lot of the coding we do in Ren'py is Ren'py specific. And while it is intuitive and makes sense for what you're trying to do, it sometimes hinders you from writing efficient python code that you could use to clean up complex story structures like ours.

We plan on a lot of twists, turns and alternate story paths, and if we could just encapsulate that in some basic python objects, life would be simple. But in Ren'py you have to sort of, "break out" of the Ren'py engine to run normal python code. But sometimes running those objects in that extra scope, causes some unpredictable behavior that simply can't be fixed because the rest of Ren'ply exists in a black box and you don't know what is going on behind the scenes.

There is a curve, both for people who code professionally and people who don't code it all. The curve just comes from two different directions.

Well way better than using RPGM.Most game using it only to make us going around.Malise and the Machine,A Zombie's Life and Roundscape Adorevia are from the fiew that makes the walking around on the map fun.

RPGM works WAY better for action games than either Ren'py or Unity.
If/when that stops being the case would make 3D even more popular.

You are right and I still can't believe how much still use it but there games not action at all-almost all female MC corruption games/Sarah's Life,Elena's Life,Lida's Adventure,Lily of the Valley,Road Trip etc./

14.5 is a re-issue of the version I use (not the main one on page 1). It provided better save compatibility between Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. It worked great when 0.15 came out.
Also, if you were also sent a walkthrough you could check to see if there are any changes compared with what we have on page 1.

Did @Sam actually mention if your info could replace what is on page 1. Or are they going to wait for 0.17 and do 14.5, 16.5, and 0.17? I hope not. Corrupted 0.16 links that were to be "soon" replaced on x-mas day have NOT yet been replaced.

don't think the links should replace anything till someone plays through it.. wouldn't want the censored (aka non-daughter) game to replace the daughter game.. walk through tells me what i have is the censored version but i will play through it at some point on a day off from work. lol

hopefully only the walk through is censored but Dating My Dreamgirl has an interesting ring too it as well.. if it does turn out the emailed game is the censored version then we have a non-incest version for the OP... lol

if that is the case would like the uncensored 14.5 if that's the case since the OP is 14 i believe..
