What has remained 100% consistent is a desire to transition patrons to "Melody".

So the dev-team is quite aware of their situation. That's great news for us fans. There is at least some chance they will see that DMD MUST be continued...somehow...

The fans of DMD slowly fade away and a new fan base emerges for whom Melody is a much more palatable character. In which case, he's successfully reinvented his business and unlike many other companies, came out with his ass in tact.

Dots took a poll awhile back to see which payment methods are used, PayPal or CC's. The vote was split almost perfectly 50/50 and there were a lot of comments from people stating that their only option to support is through PayPal. I suggested using pre-paid CC's but a lot of posts stated that they are not allowed in certain countries. Dots made his decision to stay so patrons can continue to use PayPal as a means of support, so for now an independent outside option that they build themselves is out (as PayPal probably wouldn't touch a DmD site with a 10m cattle prod).

I agree. What initially attracted to DMD may have been the incest twist. It did for me, judge me as you will. But what has kept a majority of people has not been the incest, imo, but a plethora of other elements, not least of which is D as an innocent to love girl who slowly opens up to you stage by stage.
