THe same question bethers me actually, why for example f9zone wont handle that? For sure staff here have some knowledge about this topic and what would it require to work? im definitely im on board with support for this initiative

As @kapos mentioned, this has been discussed before. MrDots did have a work around where the game was no longer called Dating My Maughter, but called Dating My Donut and you could find a patch to change conversations in the game back to incestual. If you look at the bar at the top of the page, in yellow, is a link called Lewd Patcher. You often can find mods to 'fix' games that had to be changed. What happened was that Patreon found out about this, and gave the MrDots team an ultimatum. Lose DMD, or lose your Patreon privileges.

I doubt Patreon is actively searching for work arounds to their rules. I suspect that either, A) there's a zealot that thinks, "Incest makes baby Jesus cry," or what I think is happening, B) that someone got pissed off at MrDots and ratted him out.

Game Dev's have to make money somehow.. Myself and @Kane 'Vincidon' Salvatore have full time jobs which means our game will take forever to even get a demo.. Plus our game will never be on Patreon because of it's genre.. So the jobs have to stay, we got to eat and we have bills to pay.. Not to mention not all daz assets are free, computers need upgrades, we need a second rendering rig, etc....
Point being adult game dev's maybe small teams but we still need money, or else the games would never be made at all.
If we could quit our jobs I'm sure most dev's would to work on our games full time..

End of May is a long time to wait for an update, but at least DMD is not dead.
I just hope the update will be longer than the normal monthly update, and D will become a corrupted kinky pervert faster than was originally planned.
Moving to an alternative site has been discussed ad nauseam, but without a high profile site like Patreon with a reliable pay service doubt it will happen. Not to say the market isn't ready for one just a lot of obstacles.

Im just glad he didnt give up and will work on DmD, thats all i need.

there is no question about it, its obvious that developers deserve money for their hard work and im grateful every single one of them for their ideas and time.

But I noticed that in other games as well. Devs including kind of cameos in their games from their other products and other devs. I like it a lot, always a nice touch.

This is a personalized progress report of what can happen when a creative person--in this case MrDots-- is under orders of an oppressive overseer. Although we must wait months for a DMD update, at least we get a full adult content version.
His other Patreon project, Melody, is over-sanitized, especially with preview pics.
Case in point : the uploaded pic is a member's (@Andarilho , fan-art posted in the Melody thread) of Melody. IMO, this pic is by far sexier than any of Melody by MrDots, himself. It's true that Andarilho is talented ; it's also true that MrDots has had "his wings clipped".
All DMD fans should feel sad and angry at this state of affairs...

yeah im sad and angry like motherfucker, but thats how it works i guess with everything what players really want. look at the state of a whole game industry..this fucking shenanigans with lootboxes and microtransactions in AAA games especialy, is this really made for us? is it what we really want? becouse this is certain not what i fucking want. and now patreon? FUck this, fuck them and to hell with all of it.

Ok rant over now, dont worry guys MrDots wont let us down, it will take some time but we will get what we want. I for one belive in this.

personally i think i will be straight chapter 3

We will start working on Melody v0.0.2 after this week’s premiere release on Friday. Then once v0.0.2 is released, we will START WORK ON v18 OF DMD, which we are hoping to release around the END OF MAY!

Our intention is to release two episodes of Melody (Friday and one next month), then one of DMD (v18) in May. Then we’ll go back to work on Melody in June.

Personally I think chapter 2 will continue maybe a few more updates but will be the end of DmD.

But finished maybe even faster than your imagined 3-4 updates. Daddy suddenly thinking eloping with D was a good idea in 0.17 may well have been an ominous sign. I do think DMD will be finished. But it will be a rushed finish. Ironically, just when will probably be determined by RL contingencies.

I think 3 chapters was probably too ambitious based on the length of chapter 1 even at normal pace.

Thankfully Melody will be almost a carbon copy of DmD, just with no relations that we know of. Slow paced grooming of Melody while the MC fucks around (or not for the pure route, can't believe anyone would do that but that's another story).

Gotta agree with virtuvoid about DMD ending up as a rushed finish job.
It was pretty obvious the devs originally planned to take D down a rabbit hole of ever increasing corruption, but that plan has probably been scrapped. Unless further updates cover a lot more corruption events per update DMD will likely turn out to be cut short with F and D eloping. The final full on sex being near of after the wedding.
But its better than DMD ending up as another abandoned game.
