The internal monologues make it pretty clear that D is pushing things on F before he starts going for it.

Is anyone intellectually able to consent to a sexual relationship with their father? D is old and mature enough to consent to sexual relations with someone who isn't in a position of trust or power legally. There's an argument to be made that F isn't in that position because he hadn't raised her for the last 10 years or w/e, wasn't her guardian, had no visitation rights and wasn't responsible for her, at least until the end of chapter 2. Still illegal because it's incest but it'd be an argument to claim he was or wasn't in a position of trust at the start of their relationship. Some suspension of disbelief is required with all incest games around the topic of consent though, if that bothers you that much then I'd kinda wonder why you're playing this genre tbh.

It's not a complaint. I just prefer games in which I think all parties are equally into it and equally cognizant of exactly what they're doing. D is hopelessly naive and not very bright, and if you don't see that in the script that I don't know what to tell you. F is manipulative even on routes where he's not cheating on her. (Which, again; I'm playing it with the mod and everyone who can have sex with someone else is having it, because I've zero emotional investment in some sort of perfect romantic ending between D&F. It is, to me, largely mindless incest porn with side options. If I truly cared about the game, F would end up with Georgina and D would find someone age-appropriate. But it's an incest game, and so the "best" ending is gonna be between F&D, which is fine.)

And I already said it: at this point, with DMD, it's sunk cost. I'm going to finish the game because it's been years at this point. Since I'm not paying for it, I've no justification for complaint anyway. But it would be a better game if D was brighter and more worldly. Instead, everyone manipulates her, and she never notices.

just cut the cord bud, i did. i stopped playing back when it became clear she would always be attached to F's hip (Martin made that absurdly clear to me) . i drop into this thread from time to time on the off chance that ever changes, but if you aren't enjoying it no amount of time spent is worth continuing.

The planned routes , sleeping with other men like Martin and Ryan, should be more considered. And even the Players that dont like this stuff, can switch to normal route or ignoring these pathes. I think that would be a great solution for all when there would be a option for future content to skip these scenes if you dont like them. So the dev could do some of this sharing scenes.

Iam always a fan of variation when it comes to different routes. So Iam also open for more kind of routes or scenes that you cant get on one playthrough.


Maybe there will be some more of this who knows.

Hey everyone!

Today we celebrate five years since the very first update of Dating My Daughter was released, thus meaning that MrDotsGames had officially begun!

In no way would I have thought at the time that I’d still be doing this job after I posted up that very first update in late-September of 2016, nor did I think I would have created two more visual novels in the form of “Melody” and “Sunshine Love”.

It’s been an incredible journey, but also exciting, frustrating, inspiring, stressful, but overall a great learning experience.

My small team and I have had conversations and discussions with some wonderful fans over the years and I’ve been told a few times that other developers were inspired to make their own visual novel due to DMD being one of the first VN’s that they ever played.

It still warms my heart to read messages like that.

You all have played your part in making MrDotsGames the success it has become, and I cannot thank you enough for that. But I couldn’t have done it on my own.

HearszAM has been my main writer since very early on and he answered a post that I put up on my Patreon wall in early 2017 when I needed a writer to help me out with with creating and discussing scene ideas.

We have a great working relationship, but we don’t just talk about the games, we cover a lot of different topics (travelling, football, films and TV).

Both of us have said a number of times during these past five years, just how incredible it is that we could work together without having any real issues, despite never having met in person before.

It helps that we have a similar goal, similar values and we both have a similar sense of humour.
These kinds of things are pretty important when you decide that you want to work with other people on a project.

To Jeff Steel, our ideas guy.

It still amazes me and HearszAM just how incredibly selfless you are with your time, despite your busy lifestyle.

You’re someone that keeps us going, who inspires and suggests so many ideas, a lot of those we wouldn’t even dream of coming up with.

Your overall knowledge when it comes to creating scene ideas is second to none, and all three games we’ve made wouldn’t be what they are without your guidance, suggestions and support.
