That's what it looks like. It's like the author intentionally wants to piss in the face of their users. "Let's use a crap engine to begin with, claim it's the best, then refuse to allow off-line play and force you to play in a browser like it's some garbage flash game from 20 years ago, as well as disable all the simple controls that RenPy people enjoy, like easy access to saves, hiding the overlay crap, rollback, etc..."

I still like the game despite this shitting on of the users, but the author seems like a bit of a douche. (And I'm a paying patron, for the record.)

I've honestly been very tempted to port the first chapter to RenPy just to see how much better it would be to have native support for Windows, Linux, and Mac right out of the box, and how much better it would be to play a game where you actually have more control over it like most VNs.

This could be an attempt to inhibit pirates from pillaging his game.
But you guys have found a way around that.

I'm inclined to agree. If you don't save regularly, a network glitch/ dropout will result in your having to start a new game. Been there, done that. Bummer.

As a counterweight to some of the latest not so kind comments, I would say that I don't find the latest 2 episodes to be going backwards or be worse than the previous ones. The game has been slow pacing from the start, there's no major change or surprise in there. The MC has been fighting against his "animal" instincts from the very beginning, it would have been really strange if he suddenly jumped his daughters bones or just started to shower together with her regularly. He hasn't been trying to get in his daughters panties, he's been trying to stay out of there. This isn't a corruption game. Or, if you wish, this is a reverse corruption game, where the daughter is (very slowly) corrupting her father and he is fighting against it.
So no, I'm not disappointed (much :winkytongue:) about the slow pacing of the game. And I believe that guys who have been following the game from the start and liked it, mostly agree with me.

And about the latest 2 versions not having downloadable versions yet - there's nothing new about it. Palmer's team has been releasing the game the same way from the start.
First he releases an online game to his patrons and after about 6 weeks for free to everybody. Only the free version has an option to download and play offline. By this schedule chapter 6 should probably be released for free within the next 4 or 5 days.

We have been able to play chapter 6 and 7 before they have been released to the public only because some patrons have shared these online game links before they have been released to the public and Palmer kindly hasn't changed those links yet, though he could have. I'm dead sure he knows about them being leaked.
We could play chapter 4 and 5 before they were released to the public, because Sam was able to download those online versions and make them run on any web server.

So, would you kindly stop shitposting? About the change in Palmers release policy or schedule of this VN that hasn't been changed and about the pace of the game that hasn't been changed much, either.
If you don't like slow pacing VN's, then just say so and play something else. Right now it seems that you don't like this kind of VN's, not this particular VN.

Voice of reason posts are so refreshing.

Looking on the love joint site, the free version of Ch. 5 came out March 19th. Even the most greedy request should accept the earliest the next chapter would be available would be a month later, which, as you suggest is not for another 5 days.

The double-edged sword of liking a game so much you are eager for its next update and impatient so much you curse the developer for taking too long is a curious thing.

Oh and I like the idea of the daughter being the corrupter, it's a fun twist on a concept. Plus makes the father more human, fighting his baser instincts. Very Greek drama.
