Without reading back too far, I am left somewhat confused about the transition from chapter to chapter. Is it actually possible to play each chapter, 1 to 6, without using the online version, or cracked version, or real or adopted versions etc? Or an incest patch? etc,.... Too many versions, and they are arranged in the OP as a mix-and-match pot luck for downloads.

Surely it would be better to not group them as "all chapter 1 versions, all chapter 2 versions,.. etc,.." as they are not compatible, and instead group them as "DFD adopted!, DFD online!, DFD real!" and just add further chapter versions to each of those groupings. Group them by how they work together, and not by chapter number, and that way they can have a spoiler explaining any specific needs for saving thats specific to that group of files. It doesnt matter if a chapter is also included in multiple lists either,.. it just reduces any confusion, and players could then choose to download exactly the files needed, for exactly the game they have been playing so far.

Think of them as a number of books. You need compatible chapters to make a story, so you want to be able to pick up a whole book, with the chapters arranged for you, and not have to pick out chapters in order to make a completed book. If a future chapter is added, you can then tell if its compatible to the version you have been playing, or if you have to wait a little longer.

As it is, from the comments I see, despite how good the game may look, I get the impression that nothing is compatible,.. or that I could play a few chapters and then run into a brick wall because my position wont then work on the next chapter,... and I know thats not totally true.

Seriously, whoever thought this shitty Online-Crap would be a good idea should be shot. Its fucking impossible to fucking import your savegames and the Onlineversion is shit anyways since you can't restore the Incest.

do choices really matter in this game or is linear and whatever you chose you gonna get the content of the chapter ?

You realize most of what I said is still correct, right? It's still a shit engine. ;) But hey... if you like having less control over your gaming experience, restricted platform support, etc... that's your prerogative.

DFD Ch6 is out for free! Enjoy:
Thanks! You're a bit ahead of the usual schedule this time?

Let the caterwauling for Ch7 begin!
That's a new word for me, had to look it up from the . But you're spot on.
It's just that ch7 already leaked here and I've already played it, I'd be caterwauling for ch8 now :winkytongue:

Ooh an electra complex game? That's relatively rare in VNs.
Yep. Slow pacing, romantic, artsy, with some erotic scenes and at least one porn scene in every chapter (Maybe not in the first few chapters, I don't remember any more. With other female characters of the game, obviously)
More VN than a game. A few minigames thrown in there, too.
About the engine:
Lots of save slots, an undo button that brings you back to the previous menu of choices. A backup download and restore from backup for the online version.
%localappdata%\VNE2 folder for saves for the offline version.
Obviously not as good as RenPy, but among the browser-based game engines one of the best if not the best I've seen so far.

Some users here who haven't paid attention to the warning in the overview of the game nor the importing guide in the OP, have been having trouble trying to mix online and offline versions. And asking or shitposting about it countless of times.
There is only one simple principle here to follow - don't mix online and offline versions. Saves aren't compatible. They still fail to do that. Kids these days, you know

Still you don't get the latest updates soon. You get the game after 2 months of the patron release.
This thread was created by 7767, not Palmer. Palmer never started to share his game here, he just coped with it.
Besides, there are few devs here who do post their games for free here while they're not free on Patreon, but most of them do not. At least the devs of the already popular games. However, they do not fight against the leaked games being posted here and that's what Palmer has been doing. There's really nothing extraordinary about it.
And the delay between the Patreon release and public release has been about 6½ weeks, not 2 months. It hasn't stopped us being able to play most of the chapters ahead of that schedule for free, has it? So, what is the problem here?

Is there a reason why its not reading my ch 5 saves? Is there a particular folder to input this. Why does the dev make it such a hassle every update
Why are you not reading the OP about online and offline versions being incompatible?
Quoting the OP here:
However, you can not mix download/online versions if you want to continue on your previous path. E.g: If you played the first chapter online, you have to play the second chapter online.
But, just in case you actually did play ch5 offline and are having trouble with the ch6 offline version, then the save folder of the offline version should be
%localappdata%\VNE2

I hope you haven't deleted that folder after playing ch5. It would make sense to make a backup of it next time you finish a chapter.

Just don't mix them. Offline versions are compatible with the offline versions and online versions with online versions.

Cracked versions are online versions, too. They're just running on your own local temporary web server. But there's no point to play cracked versions any more, because they're now free anyway. Ignore them.

Real and adopted can be mixed. That is, a save file from the adopted daughter version works on real daughter version and vice versa. Only version that determines the status of the daughter is the one you're playing.
Latest versions have an option (in the configuration options of the game) to change the status yourself.

Surely it would be better to not group them as "all chapter 1 versions, all chapter 2 versions,.. etc,.." as they are not compatible, and instead group them as "DFD adopted!, DFD online!, DFD real!" and just add further chapter versions to each of those groupings. You'll have to talk to 7767 or some mod about re-arranging the links in the OP. But I see no confusion there. They are grouped quite clearly right now. Online versions are marked "(Online)". Other links are for downloading the offline versions.
Real and adopted are on different lines, clearly separated.
If you pay attention and read the overview and play only the online versions or only the offline versions, you'll have no problems with the compatibility.

Just know that offline versions don't exist before the chapter has been released to the public for free and you can't play the leaked online version after playing the offline versions.

And ignore the cracked versions, you don't need them any more. Pay attention, read the overview and guide about importing saves in the online version.

As it is, from the comments I see, despite how good the game may look, I get the impression that nothing is compatible,.. or that I could play a few chapters and then run into a brick wall because my position wont then work on the next chapter,... and I know thats not totally true.
No-no-no, you're reading comments of those who haven't paid attention, haven't bothered to read the OP nor search the thread. I've never had any problems with offline nor online versions, they're all working. You just can't mix them.

Seriously, whoever thought this shitty Online-Crap would be a good idea should be shot. Its fucking impossible to fucking import your savegames and the Onlineversion is shit anyways since you can't restore the Incest.
Now, why don't you read what I just said above or read the OP and stop blaming others while you haven't paid attention to what you've already being told in the OP?

You don't need a patch, they stopped doing an adopted/real version and just put in an option on the main menu that let's you edit the relationship.
