I still prefer the plain old G8 over the over-rated G8.1 anyway. The new PBR-Skin shader looks like plaster or orange peel, and the figures are looking too toony for my tastes. Maybe because DAZ/Tafi wants them Meta-shit compatible.
Yep. Unfortunately, g8.1 looks dry af because they threw out the glossy options

Depends not everyone has a heavy oil layer and makeup lowers specular response the times of all oily are certainly over as default.
High specular response often just looks too odd and unnatural in most light cases for organic materials.
Also never forget Photographic Space and your Perception Space differences.

Are you really sure? The CEOs of TAFI are both MIT absolvents with degrees in Blockchain (Ethereum) and an unhealthy interest in NFT and Meta-verse. And consider Filament, which is for sure more of interest to create lousy animations for dubious projects, and I mean not porn.

Can we stop with this 'Glossy' nonsense, skin is more like Matte or Satin Paint, NOT GLOSS PAINT. Making them 'glossy' just makes them look like Plastic Barbie Dolls, not human beings or even very good cartoons.
If you want more 'Shine' then fine, but please don't call it gloss.
