Hellooo! I've been meddling with the atmospheric volumes lately. Surely bumps up the render times 4 times but I think I'm loving the hazy/dusty feeling it adds to the shots. As always, no post <3

So, do you make it a point not to do post? Seems kind of pointless when you could quite easily create the same dusty/haze effect with some Photoshop experience in half the time. Renders look nice, nonetheless.

I like the challenge of creating everything in the studio. To be honest I can recreate all of my renders a lot easier if I utilize photoshop but that would stop me from learning new techniques in Daz Studio. Trying to mimic those post effects helped me understand lighting better for example. Or I've had to develop a couple of tricks to get the gradient in the colours which I love. I wouldn't have to be creative about those stuff if I decide to do them in photoshop since it's a lot easier. Glad you find the renders nice looking though. <3 Thank you <3

Fair enough. You certainly can't get better if you don't challenge yourself.

I was looking at it from a developer perspective where speed and/or optimization are a focus while rendering, meaning making sure the render looks good and fixing (clipping, etc.) or adding (bloom, dust/particles/grain/etc.) things in Photoshop after. Hard to separate just making one-offs/fun renders from the efficiency perspective of doing story-focused renders sometimes.

You are most definitely correct about game/comic production where continuity between multiple renders is the key but once you nail down the techniques you use and create a nice toolbox for yourself as scene-subsets to load everything in, it actually is quite manageable and doesn't require much tweaking. It works rather well with cameras and lights but can be utilized for other stuff as well. I've just started to make story renders and planning to make a VN soon. I'll guess I'll see how it goes on the long run.

Does anyone know why it wouldn't show?
Gen9_LIE_test.jpg

I wanted to know what the LIE is capable of and tried those textures on Genesis 9.
I haven't tested the Geoshell approach so I can't help here with the out-of-the-box asset.
But as a LIE Material, the maps are working. depending on the used lighting and skin material tweaking is needed. I transformed the bump texture into an actual BUMP map and two layers for the colour with different blend modes. (Source over, Multiplicative). The Bump Map projection needs either to be cranked up between values of 3 and 10 or further tweaking in Ps/KRITA/Gimp is needed. The UV map around the glutes area is similar enough to Genesis 8 that no realigning is needed, which made the transition pretty painless.

p.S.: What I painfully miss is "fit control". Those straps are killing me, with their unwillingness to conform to the Gen9 body. And yes I am using a smoothing modifier. ;)

Hello hello heyo! Once again I brought my beautiful girls Coral and Xerrin to your presence!

Every time I promise myself not to put more than a week between my posts, but, you know... life. Missed you all.

I am experimenting more on vibrant/exaggerated coloring, lighting, and scene setups that would give "artificial but not so like that" vibes. Light is a magic that never ceases to amaze me. The more I play with the lights and colors the more I got mesmerized. This time I haven't used any indoor environments in the render set because I wanted to challenge myself more since I mentioned in my previous post that it is harder for me to achieve consistent and natural results in outdoor environments. So I thought that, why not try to create an artificial aura that would not scratch the eye and kinda look natural... I am happy with my subjective success in the results. What do you guys think? My dear Coral was super-enthusiastic to give more alluring and flamboyant poses and looks to the camera, you can find the exclusive shots if you decide to visit them there :3

Again, all these images are raw-renders / have no postwork. Argh, I've been reading the recent posts about applying postwork on images that are being shared here... Guys, this is a choice, isn't it? There is nothing wrong about making a statement of whether the image has a postwork or not. Moreover, in my opinion, it has a huge advantage for me to see if a render is photoshopped or not, e.g. when I see one of Forlorn Desire's renders, most of the time it drives me crazy and I ask myself that "Oh God, could that even be achieved by using DAZ only? How?!", hereby it leads me to play with all the buttons in the DAZ more and more to improve myself and my abilities with the software. All in all, there is no point of bragging with "no postwork", it can only be used to boost one's thyself and other people to achieve higher.

And again, I am always open for your comments and criticism.
Love you <3
