 Thank you! Updated settings to 20 hours. Let's see if this gets finished.
Probably unnecessary, with the right lighting in a simple scene, you only need 15mins-1 hour depending on the gfx card

For some reason Daz just stops rendering after a while (okay, just 2 hours in the background) .. instead of being finished, or offering the chance to resume the render, it just pretends to be done. Now, my eyes do not deceive me, this is not finished rendering.

Progress stays at 0%. Twice in one day, I find myself in a bewilderment.

The render is far from finished as evident in the low convergence. I have previously has issues with convergence when using a very similar brick wall. I would suggest that if you are still have problems when re-doing the render, either replace the wall with alternative or render the background and character separately.

Note: Worth checking the lighting as well. If you have multiple light sources with similar intensity, they often compete against each other and prevent convergence.

I have had renders that stay at 0% for 4 hours then jump to 90% Usually it means either CPU or RAM is getting a workout. If you are going to render close all programs other than DAZ. Chrome Mathon and Firefox seem to be resource hogs. Especially on sites like this and Facebook

The issue is the apartment itself. This set has huge texture loads and lots of dynamic lighting. On the previous page you can see I did a render with this same apartment. 99% convergence with 1.1 pixel quality took roughly 4.5 hours to render the scene on my rig and that is JUST the apartment and no figures. I also ripped out and deleted every other asset in the apartment package that couldn't been seen on the render since daz will still process and load them. So for your scene, delete the kitchen, table, benches, bathroom, 4 out of the 5 plants, basically everything else not visible in your scene. Otherwise, this particular apartment will take even the strongest machines hours to render high convergence.

Don't worry, it's not you. This particular asset is just an extremely heavy load.

I thought 2h13min was huge on my last render.

I am running
1 Intel HD 4600
1 ATI Radeon R7 370
1 Nvidia GeForce 440 GT
Intel 17 3.6
Ram 16gb
So yeah 4 hours is the longest a render has taken me Usually because as I said I run Spotify and Chrome while making a scene and keep them on when rendering.

BTW anyone know how I can utilize ALL my Graphics cards for rendering it would be a great help as the Radeon card is actually better for gaming than the Nvidia or will I have to replace the Radeon with an Nvidia?

Not if you're doing Iray renders. You need cuda cores, hence nvidia cards only.

so my choice is to turn all the surfaces to 3DL or get a new video card. Hopefully, I can talk my wife into allowing me to get a few cheap SLi cards then slowly upgrade. maybe not.

You can do iray with ATI but it takes longer.
Then it's up to you to test who or what will be best.
It wasn't to compare between you and me just that 2 hours for an image I found its super long and fortunately that the cpu was not there otherwise it would have been even longer.
PS : Only the preview IRAY doesn't work I think under ATI.

putain vous avait quoi comme PC pour faire ce genre de rendue moi il me faut 2h voire 3h pour avoir quelque chose de mediocre si entre deux le Pc ne plante pas
franchement genial

damn what did you have as PC to do this kind of return me I need 2h or even 3h to have something mediocre if between two the PC does not plant frankly genial
From my Logfile:
2019-04-11 02:55:55.974 Total Rendering Time: 3 hours 42 minutes 14.49 seconds
2019-04-11 07:26:26.818 Iray INFO - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.0 IRAY rend info : CUDA device 0 (GeForce GTX 1070): 2524 iterations, 47.229s init, 13264.022s render

(it would probably have looked good with half that itterations)

My PC:
Intel i7 4770-K
8GB Ram DDR3
GTX 1070 8GB GRaphics card

So its not a big pc at all.
