Recently been going back through and redoing some of my original DAZ work from when I was first learning how to make renders. Definitely motivating to see progress, albeit slow and painful. If I could go back and tell my slightly younger self anything, it would be to really focus on how to use lighting - my creativity really opened up when I got away from trying to achieve an evenly lit scene.

Goddamn, this lighting is crisp. Can I ask what you do to get such a nice, soft light?
Oh it's just an HDRI, with the gamma changed to 2 within DAZ. Then I did some post work as you can see to make it pop. For basic shots, wide interiors, basically anything other than closeups or glamour shots or mood pieces an HDRI is a good start and then if needed you can fill in lights. If this was anything other than just setting up characters I'd probably use a 3 point lighting setup with maybe a bit of HDRI for overall lighting.

Thanks though!
