This is actually surprisingly well written sci fi lol. Obviously not the magical girls and fantastical parts, but how humanity reacts to aliens, the technology used, the tactics, things like mass drivers being used to fling resources back to earth... I'm just like 45 minutes into Gaiden and the non-H stuff is pretty compelling. It's a bit too guro for my tastes though... at least the tentacle stuff. I'd like to see the more human scenes.

You should always check VNDB to know with what are you dealing with first. There are more tags no included in the thread first page, like guro for example. Bloody stuffs. This is not for everyone for sure, but thanks for share.

Anyone else having issues opening this (and other JAST games)? No error messages or anything - just doesn't open... had the same issue with Yamizome Revenger.

When do you actually start getting to make choices about things, so far ran the main game through to the first patrol of the three room mates, and so far it has been read and click to read more, which is well boring as hell to say the least, if this is just a visual novel, I won't waste my time going any further with it.

Can't fullscreen the game, whatever method I use (settings, the fullscreen button, alt+enter) all give me the error of "this resolution isn't supported on this machine"
You are in luck: I solved the Yamizome Revenger issue back in the Yamizome Revenger topic! However for this one? The regular game works, Gaiden doesn't!

Sarica I did it: I made it work!
The dwq folder in the download is missing the 4 files shown on the picture when I downloaded the game from here. All I did was copy those from Steam version + d2d1.dll + sjis_ext.bin (Those 6 files ONLY from the Steam version, leave the rest the same.) And it worked like a charm!
I am now quite the adept at solving JAST games problems now.
The mystery now is the same as Yamizome Revenger: Why did those files didn't get included when I downloaded the game?
Proof it worked in image!

Just a wild guess here, but from the sound of it either your unpacking software ( e.g Winrar or whatever you use ) is outdated or busted and doesn't completely unpack those files properly. Or the alternative : Some antivirus / security software on your pc is preventing those files from being extracted. Again, just a wild guess though. Never had any problems with JAST games myself.

3-4 hours in, hmm, do not think I will bother then, while it seems interesting it is not that interesting, I am not really into full visual novels, I can read far too quickly for that to work, especially on those that only place one or two sentences per click, far too tedious to work through. Thanks for the information though, time to delete and ignore this game.
Waiiiiiiiiiit.... what is your Windows 10? As in, Pro, Pro N? Because you see Pro N is built very different for some reason! The N edition is known to have some convoluted mechanics of running stuff!

Technically, it's even worse. The game is hardcoded to use a particular custom japanese font for its text, and cannot properly work with the default fallback (e.g. "standard" system CJK fonts).
Here's what it looks for me when launched under Proton 6.21:

I completed the game with 1 out of 2 routes(?). It's amazingly written and soulwrenching. I did the tamer route and i dont think i will revisit for the other route. These girls deserve happiness after all the shit they been through and i'll rather keep the illusion of a bitter sweet end than to shatter it and doing the other route
