I also had the same issue with the parts mod that was linked before by Squib2187, where he had used the tag "Name" instead of "name" for one part, and therefore the game didn't recognized the name of that part.
So those case-sensitive issues are just little details that modders will have to be aware of when making their mods. ^^
Yes, likely will add some sort of mod content sanitizer to data loaders. Mod editor will take longer to make, meanwhile sanitizer will handle most of small issues.

I just opened the .json file and did that little change, now it works. Now when you told where the problem was..

I hope I have a decent grip on your vision regarding the gameworld, bots, stats and such. About half was gleaned from hastily skimming through the thread, and the rest from playing, so not exactly an ideal info source. For some reason discord hates me and won't "accept invite". You might consider compiling a bit of a FAQ then adding some of your lore ideas to reign in some scope of the plentiful requests and eventual disappointed complaints.

I like that the "Model Rating" is tied to the overall value of the bot. Like Beauty was the limiter in Jx9, but in DSCS the potential of models to emulate the most subtle of human behaviors is limited by their... Model. (I really want to use "Chassis" there, but you've chosen to use "Chassis" as "State of Disrepair" referring to the lowest durability score of their list of components. So far, that's really the only thing I really wish I could change your mind on. :p ) So, with a high-end chassi-err... Model, upper tier components can make full use of their individual purposes. A bit like... the Base Chassis is a computer, and the components are useful applications. Only instead of bloated programs running like Fortnite on a Commodore-64, the components simply don't have the finer tuned electronic/mechanical infrastructure to make their processes seem fully authentic, much less graceful. I don't know, but that's just my thoughts.

I played on hardcore for about 10 minutes, when I realized I'm not actually a masochist. So, I'm grateful for that bit of self-discovery there. Truly punishing RNG, and I'm REALLY trying to quit my filthy save-scumming habit.

How close to Event/NPC modding are we? I mean... A sliding scale generic buyer or "bot wanted" missions would be really nice to reward some of the currently possible masterpieces with 75-150k or so. Dump events, combat possibilities, etc... Just to fill in the blanks while you work on fleshing out your vision, story and pacing for the game. I also wouldn't mind writing or rewriting some of your less robust scenes, in place. Thanks again for your game, so far!

I made a quick mod with a Model-A using AGMX-9's old assets and then played a bit more. I also added a few components, and I tried to make them make sense, and not be totally game-breaking, but they are higher ranked than what's currently in game. At this point in development, that alone is basically game breaking.

Obligatory disclaimer: game is currently in early stage of development, lore/gameplay/world/bots may change in future, things i post here or on discord are just ideas i have or discuss, final implementation may differ radically.

FAQ is something i planned, both normal and some sort of "How to repair bots for dummies" kind of guide in game. Again, not enough time to deliver everything at once.

Yes, rates are way to limit some bot models, as there are plans for 20-30 models in base game, not to mention mods.
It is unlikely model rate will decide how good bot may become if you replace parts with top stuff and train bot properly. Model rate will mostly define prices and client's acceptance. So if you like some model visuals and ready to invest time and money into it, you can get "D" bot to pretty same level as "S" bot. In theory.

PsychoCore is independent of model rate, but can be affected by specific model stats, like psychocore_stability_decay_mult parameter. So generally it is mostly about how much time/money you ready to invest.

Idea of some parts/skills not working to full extent is interested, but may make game less enjoyable, will need to think about it.

Sorry about hardcore difficulty level :D Wanted to add some internal stuff for testing and most of it was tied to it.
Anyway likely will rebalance lots of things once core is stable.

Event/NPC/locations modding may be possible, but it is not a priority right now. Plus i'm not sure yet how to do it better.
Some stuff like work client events modding may appear sooner than completely new location modding. Will see, but as i said, not a priority at this moment.

It's a fun game, but there are things that I believe you should implement, even if there aren't models for them. You can always do limitations or wider selection, like forbidden model skin for some chassis or multiple same grade parts for a part type. The only true problem for me is that it looks a bit grinding right now. Doing the same thing over and over is a bit boring. Besides that, it remain a fun game and thank you for sharing it with us, dear. Keep going darling and I will wait your next version to see your progress~

Software upgrades for bots, shop and mc computer is something i have in plans, don't have ETA on this though.

Bot upgrades (body sizes change, hair style, skin color/pattern, this sort of things) is something very different and difficulty to do without going to layered 2d art or real-time 3d. So i may think about adding it as purely flavor and/or text-only info, but visual representation is very unlikely at this stage.

Well, it's trainer game first, so some grind is something to expect, but i surely plan to add something to enjoy as side activity, more so after you close your debts and there is no "timeout and die" risk for you.

Anny chance for a image pack in the future, or is that size wise to big for a upload or torrent? Personaly not very knowledgeable with puzzling such a set of images together, hence my question.

PS:if file size is a issue, could they be divided into smaller sets?
I made my own image packs with with mp4 files taken off reddit many active pornstars have dedicated subreddits where high quality mp4 clips can be found along with good quality images for avatars, anything redgifs usually is mp4 just be sure to change sd to hd before right clicking and saving,

I run the mp4 through handbreak to transcode it to webm and strip out the audio and set in and out points on the video if needed to shorten them.

Then I open the webm in vlc find a decent frame and hit video>take snapshot. which gives me the preview image.

Pretty easy I havnt uploaded mine and probably wont because its like 1.5 gb and I cant be bothered going through each video and image file one by one to strip out the metadata.

Yeah thanks for pointing that out I had wondered why my c rank vocoder was showing up as "bot part" in game.

Ive fixed that issue and fixed the many spelling errors and reduced the spawn rate of the S tier bot to make it more rare.
It is not necessary to convert mp4 to webm, these should plays as well.

Huh, that makes it even easier, still a good idea to do it to remove the audio from the clips unless you want ear pain when a sex and a bj play in the same screen.

Here's the V2 of my mod, edited for version 0.4.1 of the game.

In order for the mod to work, you will need 3 files:

- First, the mod now REQUIRES to also use Mr_Shaky's part filler mod/ShakyMod_Parts, which you can find here (click on Spoiler:Mods, and download from the Mega link):

Note there are 2 versions of the JSON, a version for the original DSCS, and a version for SR24. Take only the one for the game you're playing.

I have kept the JSON file excluded from the archive so that it is easier to tweak and replace for later updates (hopefully you'll just need to downloaded the new JSON).

The mod includes only 28 additionnal sexbots (7 D-rank, 6 C-rank, 6 B-rank, 6 A-rank, 3 S-rank), with 25 different looks (3 models are variants with different parts/psychocore, but with the same look). The mod also includes some parts for new slots (vaginas, ears, horns, tails, wings).

I used only 3D animations (no real porn), and mostly tried to match the rank with how "human-like" the woman was. The mod is quite heavy, since I used multiple videos for each bot, to ensure some diversity while playing. If you prefer a lighter version, the number of videos in each folder can easily be cut down.

Here's my take on a mod.

Switching mods in game is somewhat tricky. Right now on game init (as in exe just launched) json files are loaded and python classes are created in run-time. I probably will think bit more about how to delay it until you actually enters game, but realistic and safe approach would be removing folders.
To make things less annoying i may add mods loading directly from zip files, so you could just rename mymod.zip into mymod.bak or something to no-load it.

Also i think it is possible to switch appearance mods during same playthrough, as long as there are no bj/sex scenes shown on screen. So save game when on not training/interacting with bot, exit, change mods, start, load. And i think everything should work with new images/movies.

Yes, i figured that out too. Initialy it had me stumped how to get images in, but after seeing Polip's mod i realized how it went. Been using Whoremaker girl packs myself, and either using .jpg images or converted .gif images. Most aren't usable, as they are just a <then 1 sec frame that is looping, which is just not looking so good. But a few .gif work and all are often below 50mb (kb?) in size. Also there is no audio in most of those. It is a bit of work to convert it all, and it isn't at al uniform in image size like would be preferable, but it works at least.
