This game really needs a setting between "NPCs will judge your gender based on your genitals" and "NPCs will consider your genitals when perceiving your gender"

In the former, it is practically impossible to change your gender appearance to the opposite of your genital.
But with the latter, having shoulder length hair held with hairclips is enough to counter having your cock and balls exposed. Add some cute socks, and everyone will accept you as a girl despite your 6" cock in full view.

I believe we need a setting where genitals have a very big impact on your perceived gender, but can be countered if the player works for it.
Have a very feminine appearance, big breasts, small penis, etc. THEN you should be considered looking like a girl despite your visible penis.

That mod doesn't solve the my problem which the weight of genitals in perceived gender. Problem is how little weight genitals have vs how big an impact mundane accessories have. I'm a man with very long hair that wears hair ties IRL. Not a single sane person would think that makes me look like a woman, at the same rate my cock and ball makes me look like a man.

Yet, in the game, it does. They literally have the same value. Its that easy to override the effects of your genitals. I just wish we had an option where genitals had much higher weight.

There are lots of ways to get money and Robin is the only love interest that require help. Learn how to get money fast in game or slow down your progress with Robin by ignoring his event.
Once you get a hang of the game and some skill up, money is no big issue.

Dancing and promiscuity a good way to get money early. Flirt at the until your PC promiscuity is at lv3.
Do dance lessons until your PC dancing is at least B.
Dance in the brothel and you get enough money to maintain Robin.
Keep going to dance lessons until Charlie gives your PC a job for Domus Street (once per week).
Be a nice churchgoer and max your grace then talk to Jordan to get the dance job at Danube street (once per week, you have to choose between Domus and Danube).
You get around 5k per week at Danube as long as you dance properly (Dancing 7 times per session at dance rank S, Schoomozing 1 time and stealing in the mansion).

I've been playing the herm npc mod because I wanted to for futa interactions. Just wanted to know would if it be possible to switch from this to playing on dol plus, because I think I've read somewhere that switching from vanilla to plus is fine but from one mod to another is a bit tricky.

futa npc mod is simple enough that you can switch from it to vanilla and it'll probably be fine. dolp will be 100% fine, since it's already integrated into it.

One thing I did do for my hardcore "iron man" character (quotation marks because I cheated by editing the game) was change Bailey's money scaling from [100, 300, 500, 700, 1000, 1500, 2000] to [100, 200, 300, 500, 750, 1000], maxing out at 2000 if you're also paying for Robin. It's less about the difficulty of making the money and more about the fact that the high amount of money tends to push you towards making money in one of just a few ways...so reducing the amount of money required each week opens up the player's options in being able to make the money, which also makes it so that you can interact with more of the game (and as a bonus, Robin isn't kidnapped quite so quickly as a result as well). Some of the money-making options are so bad that there's really not much excuse for ever interacting with them given that you know you need to work on making real money...unless you already have tens of thousands of dollars or more on hand, I guess, but I'd just rather approach it more organically.

I always thought the game should offer you more ways to get out of at least some of the more ridiculous situations. Like, if you're earning those amounts of money, nothing should be stopping you from moving out of the orphanage. Way back in the day, the player used to be a minor, but this has been changed, so there's no excuse any longer.

I get the game is supposed to be oppressive, but there's already at least one example of an adversary character you can take out.
