I don't know if I would call it a clone of KC. The general visual presentation is similar, but the structure, IMO, is quite differerent. However, I'm glad you like it.

Rendering with a GPU, but a very old GPU when I started. I upgraded part way though and, I think, the renders get a little better as the game progresses. At least, I'd like to think that.
that's not necessarily a bad thing for you to be a clone of something people liked, Katie's Corruption was abandoned by its dev. i thought there was another similar one, Abyss I thought it was called? can't seem to find it anymore either. either way, there's space for this style of game for those that like it, and you seem pretty active. so good luck. i hope you find your support.

Ah, Shame. I tried 0.3 and figured there's some potential here for an interesting, intrigue-laden thing where the female protagonist could use moxie, sex and blackmail to cajole herself to the top ranks of the firm (or at least secure herself a partnership) while the player unweaves layers upon layers of intrigue and sex. All while the visual style is so cheap that a story/intrigue focus is really indicated.

Now with 0.4, instead of the protagonist at least attempting to start to play all those conflicting interests, instead she seems even more retarded while surrounded by lechers... in a town... And all the player seems to get to decide is the old "lewd option vs boring option" that so many "games" do. I mean, you could probably do with a bit of a rewrite and have the protagonist be at least somewhat more active, while focusing the writing on the intrigue, but it doesn't look like the author even tries. Sadly, a bit disappointed now.

that's not necessarily a bad thing for you to be a clone of something people liked, Katie's Corruption was abandoned by its dev. i thought there was another similar one, Abyss I thought it was called? can't seem to find it anymore either. either way, there's space for this style of game for those that like it, and you seem pretty active. so good luck. i hope you find your support.
i hope with the next update u gonna focus on somthing else than eve i find eve annoying but i like wat u do with this game and hope that maybe in the future that u can overhaul this game with much better quality :D

Liking the game. I'm a fan of the Eve stuff and I'm curious what Dianne's angle in all of this is. The potential is definitely there.

I am enjoying this one. Well done! And it has very fast updates.

The dev seems to be getting a lot of criticism for making the game too linear without enough player agency, but frankly for a first game this is really good. Too many devs start out being really ambitious but then find the task too much and never finish. It is much better to start simple, develop the skills, have a successful project and then ramp it up for the next game. Developing expertise is a slow process that takes a lot of work and many hours.

@Ryder77 , out of all the literally hundreds of Daz models you could have chosen, why did you pick the ones used in Katie's Corruption for Katie herself and her father (Dimitri and Lisa in this game)?

They are the same models? Really? It wasn't on purpose.

I don't recall why I chose the model for Lisa. To me, she doesn't look much like Katie, though that may just be the different hair.

Dmitri I chose because he was one of the very few unattractive models I could find for the character. It's not easy finding an unattractive DAZ model. Again, he doesn't really look like the father to me, but I suppose 3Diddly aged him?

Thanks. It did take a long time to put this game together and there was, for me at least, a pretty steep learning curve, both the renpy and with with DAZ.

For this project, I made a deliberate decision to start with a fairly linear storyline and then add complexity as the story progressed. The more significant choices there are, the more paths to deal with and the more renders are necessary. It's easy to lose control and get overwhelmed if you're not careful. It's not an easy task.

Eve's a part of the story going forward, but the next chapter does not focus on her quite so much.

Overhaul? Heh.. no... once it's done, it's done.

Sorry to disappoint you. However, in reply:

1. It's only chapter 3. There are five chapters to go. You may see some of what you want as the story continues and develops.
2. Oh, I try. Any deficiencies in the project are the result of a lack of ability, NOT a lack of effort on my part.

I liked KC well enough. However, one thing I found a bit frustrating about that game was the "path" system. You could proceed on one of three paths and only one of three paths at any particular time. And, once in a path, your choices were minimal.

With Descent, I tried to avoid the path system altogether. Whether the sytem I went with is successful is debatable (as evidenced on this thread), but I definitely wanted to do something different from KC.

1. You may want to rewrite some of the earlier chapters anyways later on, unless you already have the entire story written down in detail (rather than just a vague plan) and now you're just doing the renders.
2. You know you *can* get help with such things? I mean, consider Hollywood movies, they usually start with a script, i.e. a screenplay, that gets tossed around a bit and maybe someone goes "yeah ok we can squeeze that in 110 minutes and filming this and that scene wouldn't cost too much and we can probably get Jude Law to play this part" and wants to go along with it. But if the script still has flaws - it always does, and as more people read it, they tend to become more obvious - what you usually do is you call in a script doctor. That's an experienced writer who doctors the script, duh, i.e. figures out some of the flaws, removes unnecessary scenes and dialogue, maybe adds new scenes. (Typically scenes get removed rather than added because every scene costs a ton of money to film and if people realize they got a stinker in their hands they rather cut their losses) what follows the script doctoring phase, at least in more visual movies, is usually the story board, which is where you doodle out, like a comic, the individual scenes and maybe detail some visual elements that may be relevant. Which is incidentally very similar to working with renpy while rendering on the side. What I'm saying is, you could try to find a script doctor, to give your writing a bit of pizzazz. Just ask around. I know DarthSeduction always wants to improve those female protag games, just prevent him from adding any friggin child sexual abuse backstories to the characters.

And if you don't want to let someone else touch your baby, at least consider how you write characters. Everyone needs a motivation, a flaw, some kind of arc, where they end up changed. Most of all the protagonist - give her some motivation (Something way more interesting than 'getting the internship') and some believable character flaws (a grown ass woman confused by the concept of wearing sexy things doesn't really do it for me) that keeps her from achieving those goals. And because this is a porn game, you should consider giving her a genuine fetish (which can act as a bonus flaw and as motivation at the same time). Maybe her sexy dream is actually whore herself to the top, or it's using whatever power she can gain to "corrupt" others (that is Eves ostensible fetish, for example) or she's a masochist and only gets off if she's bullied and blackmailed into lewd things, and subconsciously or semiconsciously engineers such things to happen (which is how a lot of these games actually can be made to work easily) or maybe she's an exhibitionist and starts some kind of game teasing, lets say, the russian tech guy. And finally, make the men somewhat believable too. Consider the middle aged boss lawyer. You don't get to be a high power man if you throw money around every time someone puts on a short skirt. He's acting like some thirsty incel who's gone 6 years without a female as much as shaking his hand. For any aspiring office whore, fucking the boss is basically the win condition, but it's not as easy to wrap such a guy around the finger exactly because virtually every other slut in the office is gonna try her chances as well.

Don't just make it Katies Corruption because, well, that game was not good. Not just because of the path-locking. But mainly because the MC was just a blank mannequin with the player occasionally selecting a more or less lewd option. I don't care about the emotional stakes of mannequins. I want to see actual people-characters who get upset and overconfident and devastated and horny, who mess up and succeed. Some emotional investment, you know. A piece of driftwood - which is what Chrissy is right now - doesn't evoke that.

At least make me hate the competing male intern guy, whats his name again? I wanna say Eric, but Big Brothers Eric, now that was a cunt you genuinely hated just for how cunty he was. This guy here... is no Eric. Make him do some really vile shit right in Chapter 1 so the player immediately knows what the score is.
