i'm sure i'm missing it, but if old saves don't work are you shit out of luck?
i see you can load from "renpy server" but I would assume old verisions wouldn't work all the same..?

Everyone has to start a new game, and you shouldn't even start now unless you don't mind starting over again on the 13th. That is why the warning is in the OP.
There is a dev save that is meant for testing to see the new content.
While you "can" copy your old saves over to the new save directory, it is only going to cause issues.
the update has barely two new scenes, one mini short one with queen, and one extended with doctor in mutants, the rest are reworks thanks to which you cannot use your old saves and plenty of bugs

Be glad that the rework is already over and the update has come out! There will be even more and more interesting things to come...

Wow it almost like the dev has been talking about it every single weeks in the dev reports within the last 3-4 months or so that most of the new content are the reworks and there will only be 1-2 new events. But hey the pirates always right.

In the rework, there are also newly added Kyra and Asha sex scenes which were skipped in the older versions.
Hopefully now with the reworks done, the following updates can focus more on moving the story along. That the issue when rework is done in the middle of the regular game development. They suck up time and development to make a renders a little more pretty.

Just one bug so far, involving Poppy and wanting to pee.
Apart from that it's been quite enjoyable to play thru again. A few added scenes and characters too, very nicely done. What I tend to do is playthru something I like, keep a note of it, give it a year then pop to check the update.
No point moaning about devs unless you're paying. Even then you should rationalise you're paying for their product.

If you are disappointed so much, you can stop your support on the patreon/ss or lower its tier.

The game keeps resetting my MC name and his family Releshionship, can anyone HELPME? It's not the only game that keep giving me this error, they won't save any setting I chose and every time I close the game the set themself as they were before, I can't find anyone with an answer for my problem

Me neither! Especially since this was the first time in 3.5 years....
It must be really hard to keep coming back to a game that has disappointed you that much for years, I feel your pain. See you next release I suppose, it's a date.

There are reworks left for the 0.18 update the dev hat not the time to finish everything for this update.
Try to rename the persistent file under the save dir, so you have a backup and the game will create a new. Maybe the file got corrupted and the game can't write it properly.

Ren'Py games also write saves & persistent to a 'saves' directory inside the game's 'game' dir. Is that present (& populated) as well?
(Shouldn't really matter (or maybe it does), as I believe AppData takes precedence over that, but still.)
Those settings are stored in persistent. So I reckon your saves do work? When was the last time you rebooted your PC? Do you have any particular security / anti-virus software running?
ps/btw: this matter is a bit off topic (as it's not directly related to this game, you say you suffer from the same problem in other games), so a prolonged troubleshooting discussion in this thread wouldn't be that appropriate I think. A topic in General Troubleshooting would be better I reckon.
