Except those aren't really solutions. A save migration button would not be appropriate in this case. If it were a situation where the VN were split into separate installs where the old version was kept as "season 1" like some devs do (Eg, Desert Stalker and Desert Stalker 2), then I'd agree but that's not the case here. In this case, the code was ENTIRELY revamped and the renpy version got updated and the old game version is deprecated. There would be no sense in writing in a save conversion calling back to a version that is no longer there. In this case, just start a new save and be done with it just this once. You won't have to expect to do this every update.None of that prevents any of the solutions I've outlined.
And we knew well in advance that the saves were going to break. The dev was very clear about code being reworked in this version ahead of the steam launch. There's also a big warning on the OP letting you know that old saves won't work. If you don't want to play through everything again, then just hold the skip button and skip all of the older content. You'll be caught up in probably less time than it would take you to complain about broken saves on F95.
