Eh having multiple people show interest in translating a project sounds healthy. Competition also helps improve quality.
Chrono Trigger has had several translation teams over the years and I doubt anyone would say there should be only one translation to rule them all or even if they do it's nicer to be able to pick a fan favorite out of the many that exist.

Can somebody help me, how to make a new lines in this labels?
I found out a long time ago and almost immediately that for such labels, standard spaces cut off the text. However, standard line breaks ("\n", "\r\n", etc.) are converted into spaces...
Something tells me that this was not provided for by such labels at all.

I cut city labels as much as possible, but unfortunately this is still not enough in some cases.
Anyway, here's the patch (with the UI and pickup msg fix from masterdragonson).
If I can't find a solution on how to make these labels in at least 2 lines, then in a couple of days I will make a request to add this patch file to the header.

Well if you want those labels to process new lines you would probably have to code that in.Can somebody help me, how to make a new lines in this labels?

You could work together with the other guy, all we want is to have a decent translation to be at least playable.

Well you have to think about how he had a proper translation in the works which was pretty public but now an MTL have been posted which means a large majority of people will either just play it as it is or never touch the game ever again due to MTL so overall making his work "worth less".
And even though the current translation have missing parts in it which might hold off people from playing it and instead wait for the more proper translation. People seemingly offer to help to patch up the current MTL version to a level where most people could play it with more ease which means even less people will be interested in his efforts.
And to add the cherry on top, after you didn't read his comment about continuing to work on this and getting a personal response to inform you (even after he said he rather not continue dwelling here further) to see that you are one of the people who are helping the MTL be playable for more people, would low key feel like being betrayed probs.
I think I would also feel quite shitty.
I'm not sure how much he is being paid if being paid for it at all, but if someone would release an MTL for the game I am putting hours, days, weeks, months into and people instead of holding off, they make the MTL just more playable.
I would probably never translate anymore if I'm not getting compensated properly.
And again the "teamwork effort" might sound noble, but you are putting help in a supposedly "wrong place",
and once again MTL or even lines posted into a more proper translator source like deepl (website) it still gives sheit translation, we are not there in space and time where this could work so do not suggest a proper translator to "work" with MTL.

Maybe he's thought you want to screw with him by taking over the translation of this game, he was very pissed with the MTL already and now someone make his mood even worse

I dont see how im being rude when you firstly and falsely claim i abandoned this project when i clearly did not. Secondly after i clarify you then decide to do it anyway. How am I being rude for being a tiny bit annoyed by this? Because thats all it is. Annoying, not angry just disappointed and now annoyed on how i got sucked into this.
I dont like drama. In fact i hate it and this is becoming a headache. As someone pointed out these are japanese porn games, it isnt worth wasting my time with discussing it. I said my peace twice now and that is enough.
You do what you want. Im gonna be working on this anyways. If you want to help me just ask. If you want to do it yourself we can see who does it better. Rivalry is a good motivator. Im sure the community would enjoy watching two translators "beef".
Not mad and no hard feelings just like i said annoying I have to deal with drama when i just want to translate and fix games for people to enjoy.

Thank you for deciding to continue with the translation and I believe you can just ignore the trolls. I read your previous post too and I don't feel like you're angry about the MTL at all so I have no idea what the other guy read before (thus making me doubt his comprehension skills too).
To be honest, other than MTL, this is my other concern that will make translators stop doing their work which is trolls. They might go ahead with a badly done translation (but perhaps better than MTL) just to somehow get to the translator. But yes, I'd suggest to just ignore all the trolls and drama and go ahead with your translation. I believe a lot of us are patient enough to wait for your proper translation.

its not about being ok with it, but rather there's no other option is either that or the original untranslated. Again, no one is enforcing the download, If you don't like it, just ignore it and move onto another thing or wait for a proper translation.
