The dev had a public post on Patreon in December that said the release would be that month, then for some reason they put the delayed announcement and new release dates behind a $10 paywall so if you subscribed expecting to play you were out of luck for a couple more weeks, then a bit later there was another delayed announcement (this time public like the first one should've been) and it said it'd be out within the month of January but that didn't happen, and now they say the release dates will be announced next weekend "if all goes well" so I guess we'll see if it all goes well.
I'm not holding my breath though and I definitely won't be giving them my money again for it

Just about the same thing happened with the prior release last fall. I stopped supporting right after that nonsense, and it is no great surprise to read things haven't changed.

The full release schedule has now been posted on his Patreon. The release for the top tier of supporters (which doesn't include myself) will be on the 20th Feb at 10pm UTC "give or take a few hours". After that there are releases for different ranks every few days, finishing up on 28th Feb for the lowest tier. The 28th will also mark the official public release of version 0.5, if anyone's still waiting for that.

First and foremost, thank you for your patience and support thus far. Great news. We are here! With more than 1k new images and 100+ animations for 0.6!
I have had the opportunity to set many things up and prepare for future updates. I think we will be an awesome place by the time we approach the mid year mark.
Here is the full release schedule. And as promised, dates will be condensed and all patrons will have a go before the month is over! We will resume usual buffer times for next updates.

After a challenging update with highs and lows, I think we can look forward to the year with great excitement. The ability to do this full time and focus on my passion without any distraction is amazing. Thank you guys so much for making it possible.
So much more to come, I hope when all is said and done, it will be worth it! I'm super excited and absolutely can't wait to complete the game. Let's see where we are at the end of the year!
It helps give me valuable insight as well as moral support to take a step back and see the game from fresh perspective.

I don't think it is out; the dev "gives or takes a few hours" has now become gives or takes half a day =)
Considering there has been delay after delay, I just hope the dev isn't fleecing his patrons like we've seen multiple others do over and over again, since the game itself is really good.

I am quite new to this community so I don't know this is actually a thing (delaying updates but not being honest with the players). What I know is that this particularly update is supposed to be out in December (he even posted a 100% progress bar back then), delayed and "promised" to be out in January; delayed again with no particular date of release, until he said "we are ready for release on 20th this month". And guess what? No update on 20th Feb either.
