I am eagerly awaiting the (mega-)link for v0.40.2. Especially after seeing the changelog I am incredibly excited about this update.
But just for a bit of constructive criticism (and some praise):
Finsit & Janthespider
First of all the broken saves is indeed a pretty big hassle, especially with it all being (even) grindier then before. Nevertheless if you feel it's necessary and say it's worth it, I will withhold judgement, and defer to yours.
Second, the new way of displaying money and serums is indeed aesthetically pleasing, but it's not really convenient, especially with regards to money. The prices in the game at certain instances are still displayed in dollars and when they aren't there's sometimes no price at all, so you have no way of knowing whether you have enough before going out to buy it. Would you ever leave the house to buy something, not knowing whether you have enough to pay for it? I find it quite irritating. As for the serum display, it's fine I guess you don't need 50 of them, so why display more then 5 at a time, right?
Third, I very much applaud going back to certain characters that were somewhat left behind, characters like Frankie, whom I've always loved, and Lola who hasn't really had much attention payed to her in the past few updates. But isn't it time for some, how do I put this, progress? Not in the figurative sense but the literal sense. A few updates ago you guys added an 'ending' that in my opinion was a bit shortsighted. After everything wouldn't it be better/great to bring all the fully corrupted girls together under one roof (a new roof even, maybe)? Bringing the events of all the updates together and creating one big slutty fucking harem. And then go from there. Let the girls be exposed to fetishes and corruptions, not yet applied to them until now. Make them proactive in their own, further, corruption. Make them come to the MC and have them express an interest in something not yet covered, like maybe watersports or long term/24/7 TPE (Total Power Exchange). They've been injected, so why not make them more proactive?
Finally I'd like to say that, while you read this, the tone of my comments here may seem angry, irritated, disappointed or whatever negative emotion I may have implied. Let me say it is absolutely non of those. Like I said at the beginning, this is constructive criticism, I say all this because I absolutely love this game. It was the second 'sex game', so to speak, I ever played and after playing I couldn't wait to get more of it, and others.

Hell, why are we still using non interactive medium ? We should only be using 6DoF VR with body, hand and eye tracking, because you know it is possible.
But here we are, books still exists, photography still exists, even painting and physical image reproduction still exists.
The thing is that producing any content takes time. And the more skills you need to produce a piece of content the less likely one person can posses it and such, the more time that person will take to produce any said content.
I would agree with you if deep learning was more accessible, indeed that would enable to unload a massive amount of workload from the artists. But while we do have some scientific papers that showcase they potential uses and how magic it seems, tools usable by amateur or hobbyist are still scarce.
Deepfakes for example are only a couple of years old, and still need more technical know-how than most artists are able to learn.
When I say able I mainly think about time. It takes time to learn. A professional have dedicated time to learn to use tools, a amateur/hobbyist generally don't even have the time to produce what is considered "enough" for their audience with the tools they are most proficient with.
Personally I have enough time to support Jan and try to deal with as much things as I can to allow Jan to produce more content.
But still, that doesn't mean we have anywhere near enough time to significantly increase either the quantity nor quality of the art content we have.

Did you really make such a big update and didn't make any test-run? I mean, whatever you do, errors await you - shopping? error; making serum? error. How am I even supposed to play this game now if I can't do anything?

Well statistically, at one point it should work given the sheer amount of shagging going on. But the MC also have such a emphasis on anal it complicates things.

I'll respond point by point.
Well now we have more control over the grindiness.
For example we could reduce the number of object to buy by bundling them together, increase prices for some objects.
Before that version we had no idea of how much the player would have at any given point of their save.
Now by making the system based on income rather than amassed money we can effectively use it as part of the gameplay.
We will release a poll later (once the version is stable) to gather some data and feedback about it. I intend to tune it as it should.
Well, that mechanic is on is first iteration, currently I put more work into thinking about how the mechanic would work than to implement it and than thinking about the implementation itself, it is a process, and I don't see how I could not improve it over time.
I mean I cannot stand to not improve something I can. The money system and the sexshop was on my hitlist since April '18.
So yeah, it is still in the rough.
About the serums well when I read what you had to say about it I was dumbstuck. You made me thought that it could be even better.
You see I just replaced the old number display with a unary display. But since the serums are colored and as you said we don't need much serum, why not use a 5 slot serum inventory ? A simple bar of colored square. Seem as elegant as it would match the probably limit from the MC to carry all those vials.
That could be an issue with my future plan of adding more possible serum uses (with lesser effects) but seem like a cool thing to add.
You can be sure Jan will read your comment with interest. We have so few input about that kind of thing, I mean, in busy months we have like 5 suggestions, tops.
Personally I have put a card on our Trello about adding Yuki displays in the home background when she is tail-plugged on her last stage since June '18. Same things for Igor (transformed Greg) displaying at the Lab.
Jan is like a rolling rock, very good inertia but very good inertia. He keeps rolling despite the problem he can have. But you cannot really convince him to do something. The most effective way is to send him a RSVP 5-6 month before then express your idea, and if you are lucky few month after that he will have done something tenuously related to said idea.
We are working on our creative process but it is ungodly hard to make him do something.
So we need to keep trying.
That being said, there is also the issue of balancing the content between the character, Working on Francesca for example prevent us from working on someone else. And even if I'm trying to make him work a little bit everywhere to fill little blanks, that doesn't go well with his creative process.

No really, even if it was maybe it would have been less insightful for us but I would still have responded. After all "angry" still means "caring enough to be angry" so it is rarely useless.
Would you say the MC was feminized when he injected himself some green ? I would say it seems to have the reverse effect doesn't it ?
You know the 0.40.x is not supposed to be accessible by other than patrons currently, you can be sure that in 2 weeks when it is release to everybody it will be very stable.
The game logic is very complex, testing it even with a few tester would take too much time. And we warned our patrons (well Jan forgot for the 0.40.0 but still for the next ones) that it was going to be a bumpy ride.
I'm not particularly please that bug that I fix in less than 2 minutes stuck here for more than needed. But we have engagement to our patrons and we keep our word.
I have pretty much everything set up for enabling the auto-updating. But damn those people who are financially supporting our work when you could have everything for free delivered instantaneously.

ye i wanted to give it a try; unfortunatly almost every step you do ends in an error. Tried to ignore some and get further but its just frustrating at some point D:
When starting to train Harley, I bought all the available stuff on the store and the option to have her read still says i dont have red collar and the armcuffs wich makes impossible to even start on her path.

I'm just saying I can't believe you didn't even have time to try out the new update of yours, not to notice that after every important interaction an error occurs (the magic of the Tab button). I get it you like when someone provides you with some financial help, but not everyone has money to pay for every pre-beta-alpha porn game they'd like to play, and it doesn't take the right to criticise away from them.
Yup, that bug will be fixed on the v0.40.3, unfortunatly I didn't got report for that bug before we released the v0.40.2.
You can enter
ha.slt = 5 in the console as a workaround. That will make you skip the first read event though.

I understand your reaction. I am moved to review most often when I am disappointed. I've certainly written some very positive reviews, both here and elsewhere, but on balance I've been pretty critical, especially lately. Sturgeon's Law. That applies to my own projects (I write fiction that has not generated much enthusiasm. I soldier on and try to get better).
Having said that, I'm not taking some malicious pleasure in knocking stuff. I have never written anything insincere or tried to troll. I don't know your background or circumstances. Some devs are pouring their hearts out and some are scamming and getting over. Most probably fall in between. Sometimes I have my suspicions about what's a real scam or just someone struggling, but I rarely really know. All I can do is look at the games and say what I mean. Please don't take it as a personal attack, because it's definitely not meant that way in this case. I've been sarcastic or vicious sometimes, but I was pretty conflicted here and don't think I wrote anything nasty. Criticism comes with the territory.
I DON'T wish ill on you or anyone who isn't some opportunistic scammer. I DO want every game to be like the games that knocked my socks off. From zero stars to five stars, I will rate honestly when the urge comes over me. I will post what I think, both plaudits and damns. I don't think not saying anything is at all helpful to the community and think I've provided fair service to those few people who found my posts or ratings helpful.
