2025 is already here to start anew this gaming adventure into whatever stratosphere a hype project might get you.
Not sure this would be a good forum for it. I did create quite a few characters and did renders of those characters. I've been thinking about posting them just to see what kinda responst/interest there'd be....but then I remember all the nonsense before and makes me think twice, lol
This game in particular, it had a bad MC, antihero in the vein of John Constantine from the comics, not the hype Keanu Reeves movie adaptation - the badass without the dunking from the other characters.
This being the jest and seemingly the way most players got to know the MC, it was easy to dunk on him and the game,
but only because the whole grand scheme of the overarching story was shaping up to be the absurd yet hard and obscene gloryfying of the antagonist - the grossly overbord, allknowing, allwinning, overpowered mobster boss who was shown, like, every other update, to run everyone and everything into the ground.
Every project has to own to the subject matter it portrays and showing the winnings being almost exclusively for the antagonist as the overarching story, while dunking on the MC and consistently showing him failing or getting outsmarted or degraded by some of the other characters - this is the kind of dynamic that spilled from the game into this forum.
JAmes Gunn will have to own up to showing Superman bleeding (beat, slammed into the ground, powerless and coughing blood) and getting dragged back to his ice fortress man cave of solitude by his dog - almost like the corpse of Hector at the back of the Achilles chariot in the Eric Bana+Brad Pitt Troy movie - that was the kind of representation the newest Superman trailer is showing smack in the very beginning. It then shows Superman getting booed and assaulted by countless demostrators and getting chased by seemingly a mob formed of literally all the people, while getting hit in the head with a can of food.
Anytime you show this kind of stark, hard hitting themes, you need elephant like thick skin to take the big emotional backlash of moviegoers, comic readers, Superman fans that might be furious at this degrading look into his troubled existence.
