True, but that only works when the images\settings you are placing in front of us match each other.
What do I mean, well for example I just started playing earlier, and got the scene in the seedy bar near the start of the game, where you very obviously draw attention to the glory hole in the toilets wall, at which point two options pop up, one is full steam ahead or something like that, the other is toltoc or something similar.
Taking into account where you are and what you are doing, those two options should point to either getting out of the bathroom as soon as you can or choosing to do something in relation to said glory hole, I choose the full steam ahead thinking it was get the hell out of there and ignore the glory hole, nope what I found out was I was instead heading to the bar tender demanding a job, which has nothing at all to do with the scene being show as the choices pop up.
If all the other scenes/choices in the game work the same way then yes it is your fault for things happening, any choices we are making should be for the current scene not the one after that, which at this point we do not even see.
