Not really any need, worst case scenario, there is always the 'skip' button. The only real difficult part is trying to decide if I want to make different choices this time... Do I want to change my mind and have lots of sex, or stick with my canon choices and stay true to myself. :LOL:
Which is a great reason to help ourselves by making strategic save points ...

2019-08-13 News

Good afternoon all, thought it was past time I chimed in with a little bit o'news.

Today's been a particularly good day. I took the day off of the real job today and will log a solid ten hours on this game today and if all goes well, another ten tomorrow. It's been nice blocking everything else out for the day and just focusing on the project.

But I don't mean to mislead, there has been some steady chipping away at the "to do" list over the last week.
As previously reported, the scene selection tool is now complete and fully integrated. Along with in-game character bios (for all the characters you know and a few you've yet to meet). As well as some other interface upgrades.
I'm also happy to mention that all the re-coding has been completed and naming your character is now a fully integrated option.

Finishing up Nanami's Chapter 3 is also well under way. I hope to have some play-testable material soon for $10+ patrons. There have been a lot of changes since the last release, so there are a number of mechanics that needs tested. But we'll get through all that.

Now, onto a few other things...

Setting Expectations
This next release is going to have a lot of new things integrated into it. Some of these new enhancements have yet to be fully integrated into the previously constructed material. One such feature is the ability to change the MC's race/skin-tone. While the mechanics for this feature are now built in, I still need to go back and update all the previous scenes with the new textures. This is going to take time and I won't delay the game further by going back and reworking old material.

So with each subsequent release, expect some of that original content to be retouched and remastered a little to work with all the new mechanics. If each release contains a bunch of new content and a little bit of old remastered content, then I think we'll have a good balance.

What can I say, it's a beta. There's going to be tweaks. But hopefully with the ability to jump to different points in the game, the lack of save compatibility will be mitigated a little.

On the upside, when I get all the old content remastered and in line with all the new content coming out, I think it'll be a pretty awesome fucking game/story/whatever.

What's that Sound?
Finally, I'm getting around to adding music to the game. This is also a feature that right now is a bit uneven as some scenes have it and some...well...most don't. But I'm working on that.

I've wanted to include music in the game for awhile but the two things that have stalled the effort is a good source for royalty-free music and the variance in sound levels between tracks (You know what I'm talking about, one song is soft and the next one comes in thirty decibels higher). Happy to say both problems are now solved.

With an excellent source of tunes at my disposal and having done some research in the renpy documentation on volume control, I'm now in the process of constructing a music library for the game.

As the sound gets integrated I'm doing my best to make sure that the sounds levels are adjusted and maintained across the game so that you never need to adjust your volume preference more than once. It's a little trial and error, so I'll be hoping for feedback on the success or failure of this endeavor.

Streaming
While we only did a couple of these I must say I did enjoy doing them. Once I get Nanami's chapter buttoned up I'm looking to return to doing one, maybe two streams a month dependent on time. So look for that to kick back up again in September.

In the meantime, I'm going to continue hammering away at this thing and will do my best to respond to all the messages and emails I've received in the meantime. I promise, I will get a response to everyone eventually, just hang in there with me.

I can see the charm of learning something new and wanting to use it but the game is already liked by many the way bit is.
Plus we see so many devs burning out on the workload they put on their own shoulders .
Finish this game and put everything you learned in the next and take care of yourself .

He's already rebuilt most of it, from what we've seen and heard. I think that much of the rework and new work is about behind him.

At the same time, he's been putting in new content, so no sign of pulling back on this project at all.

It's like I tell people, I don't get to work on this game enough to get burned out. I have all these plot lines bouncing around in my head and no time to get them into the code and rendered. So even after all this time, I'm still riding high on enthusiasm for the project.

While there is a bit of rework I want to do, I intend to keep a balance in each new release. I'm thinking 75% all new material, 25% upgraded old material. The story is an ongoing evolution and these characters sometimes write themselves. The original Chapter 3 for Nanami was a fraction of what I've released so far. But once I started writing for Lola and Lita, they kind of took off on their own and had their own story to add. Which then lead to the bouncer Miles and a couple of other characters that'll come out in the second half of that chapter.

And I'm a very judicious writer. If something doesn't add to the story or won't be important later, I violently cut it out. But these characters added so much to the overall story and had so much potential for more drama and tension, I simply couldn't let the opportunity slide by.

But now that I've got all the learning out of the way and I've worked out a solid one-man pipeline, I'm ready to get back into high gear and get this story out of my head and into your hands.

I finally got time to make a first run through of this VN. I must say I enjoyed all the characters so far. Nanami is very much scary and arousing at the same time. I have mad love for Lola she was a sweetheart.

Kind of hilarious that I gave sage advice to the other three young girls of the game and tried to stay true to Emily. I fear that flash drive is going to return and bite me in the ass at some point in the future. Lola totally made it worth it though. I can't wait to see any further updates and all the changes you've been working on.

In my playthrough Roger ended up telling the truth about the sex with Nanami to his wife. I can only imagine what is going to happen if she find out he also had sex with Jane, the friend of their daughter, and Lola. :LOL::p

This was a test render from today's batch that came out so well I figured it needed to be a wallpaper.

It just occurred to me today that when I release the second half of v1.0.7, it will be the first release that is 100% mine. My writing, my new coding, and my Daz style.

I know my predecessor (Fecalmancer) favored the POV composition for a lot of the images. But being a long time fan of Movies, comic books and other forms of entertainment, I tend to prefer more dynamic compositions that really get you up in the action.

There will still be many POV-esque images when appropriate (like the post sex scenes with Lola and Lita, those were 100% me.). But I'll be interested to get some feedback on my personal visual style when the second half of v1.0.7 drops.

In the meantime, enjoy a picture of some sweet tits and Nanami's vicious gaze. (And poor Roger trying to calm the waters with a little cold, hard cash).

Can't wait to drop the next release. Till then, Hey mon! Gotta get to work!

What's funny is that in the render it DOES look like she's staring at her tits. But the way the scene is set up she's actually staring her down. The offest is strange but not so bothersome I'm going to spend a lot of time sorting it out. Lol.

As for 1st-3rd, I like both, it depends on what is going on in the scene.

That said, I have a sneaking suspicion that one reason so many games are 1st person here is that is one less body you need to render per image... :whistle:

It seems her eyelashes led to a shadowing from the intense blue lighting overhead, which overlaid her eyes and could appear to be her pupil and iris in the dark.

Honestly, the final render still looked to me as if she was staring down the owner of those ta-tas because of her posture and head position, just in a noirish nightclub lighting (and mood) where I expect lots of shadows to make things more mysterious.

I think you might be right, the shadows make her gaze look more downcast.
