2020-10-09 News

I've been meaning to post this for a few days but I wanted to finalize some details before sharing them.
So where are we at? Let's start with the technical stuff.

PC Build
So thanks to all my wonderful patrons, we used the entire sum of this month's Patreon intake to purchase a pair of RTX 2070's for the new PC.

Previous month's contributions have secured the i7processor, the Z390 Mobo, case, coolers, fans, 2TB M2 SSD and the RAM.
All that's left is the OS and about $500 worth of Hard Drive's for additional storage and redundancy.

This close to the final build, I'm going to chip in the remaining $500 out of my own pocket so we can get this PC built and start reaping the benefits before November is done. The last of the parts should be in over the next couple of weeks.

New Content
We've just finished scene 6 of Cassie's next chapter. This marks the half way point of the chapter's completion. Scenes 1 thru 6 of Cassie's chapter contains approximately 7,000 words and around 570 completed images.

There are a few more images I need to re-render to correct some lighting and focus aberrations but I should have it ready for play testing in a couple of days.

What's the Plan?
As soon as I tie up Scene 6 I'll release the test version of v2.x.x with the new material to $10 patrons to bug test. While testing is happening, we'll continue with the live streams and push through to the end of the chapter.

After a couple weeks of testing, when the bugs have been smashed, I'll open up access to the test version to $5 patrons, followed by $1 patrons. You've gone too long without anything in hand and I owe you for your continued patience.

I want to give those who want it, a chance to wet their appetite a bit with the new content while the rest of the chapter is being finished, but only after the bugs have been found by the play testers.

Once the entire chapter is done and has been play tested, I'll issue the final release of the chapter.

Long Term
Right now a week's worth of live streams take about a week to render out. Once the second computer is up and running, we should be able to complete the live stream work and rendering all in the same week. My goal is to see the production speed doubled by the addition of a second machine.

We'll test this theory and if all goes well I'd like to see development of two, maybe three characters at a time as long as the computers can keep up with the queue. I won't know for certain how much we can heap on until after the second machine is up and running and I get a good sense of how fast it can knock out the images.

If this pace can be maintained, that means we'd be completing a scene or more per week!

Exciting things are ahead and I'm super thrilled that we've kept this project alive to this point!

Thank you all again for hanging in there with me while I sort out how best to produce this game and iron out a solid workflow for getting it all down. We're finally hitting our stride!

But i am afraid, this update will be too huge. This 570 images are the half? And your images are good very good. I hope this file goes not up to 5GB and more.

Maybe, and only maybe, you are considering to splitt the updatde. Because is sooo long since the last one. Pls

The newly rendered 570 images will add rouhgly 296 MiB to the game's size.

That being said, it's but an estimate only taking images into account and heavily dependent on the overall complexity range of the current renders and the use of constant quality settings versus

Have you thought about which chapter will be next? I would personally love to see a Jane chapter. She's my favourite character by far.

I think Roman said it was Monica and Lupita next as they had the least progress so far. I guess we will have to see if he confirms anything or does more livestreams.

This is true. Monica and Lupita are the next up on the hot list because all I have for them so far are their introductions and people have been very patiently waiting for more of their story. Monica in particular hasn't received a lot of love, so I want to see if the addition of some additional plot doesn't ramp up her fan base a little. (This is purely a writing challenge on my part much like Lola's introduction.) I have a lot of good stuff written for both characters and I'll be super interested in seeing how it's received.

Oh man, that's unfortunate. Don't get me wrong, I love this game and I'd say this is one of the best games on this forum (especially in terms of writing). It just means that I might have to wait about 16 more months for some new Jane content.

Hopefully not. Once I get the second and eventually third computers up and running, my goal is to be working on several characters simultaneously.

It'll happen in due time. Lola's story is far from over.

I know I am crazy but Cassie is the least interesting of the girls (to me) so all the focus on Cassie disappoints. I am looking forward to more Jane, Lola, pretty much everyone else though.

So patrons will have the option of downloading individual chapters so that they can begin playing while additional content is downloading, or downloading it all as one big file.

Since I don't contribute downloads to F95, the development of a similar scheme in the OP is entirely up to the pirates and uploaders here on F95. But all the content will be individually packaged for convenient downloading.

As RomanHume said, there is definitely no incest content in this game. Yep, Cassie is Roger's ... neighbor's ... daughter.

Unless you want Cassie as your daughter, but some of the text still comes up as neighbor's daughter. Having her as your daughter makes more sense though as an explanation for having your neighbor's daughter in your house often, having sleepovers there, etc. isn't in the game. But I love this game so far-the scenes and story is so riveting. I enjoy all the scenes so far in Chapter 1-loved the scene in the Club talking to Dan. Especially enjoy the scenes with the MC choosing the advice he give the girls /ladies

That always seemed wierd to me in these games, rather than your wife why not just make your partner your girlfriend. then her daughter becomes your girlfriend's daughter. I think that makes whatever happens legally if not morally fine .
Girlfriend seems more realistic that tenant or neightbours friend. But maybe I am just missing something.
And as long as you don’t say how long you have been together people can make there own minds up on how your related to your girlfriends daughter.

Originally I had planned to have that. But as I started writing those scenes they started to feel incredibly redundant because it was mostly just recapping what had already been said/done in the previous scene. So in the end I decided to scrap a lot of the therapist stuff because it just started feeling like fluff and filler.

I have considered doing some more Amana dialogue at the end of the Acts. Right now I'm looking at about three acts per character, each act having multiple chapters. But we'll see. My plan is to write the end of act therapist scene and if it feels too redundant, I'll have to make a call.

No bullshit, that's how the game originally started. Like the very, very, very first draft of the script. It ended up getting thrown out (probably for the better), because we were so terribly new at Daz, we couldn't figure out how to control the reflection and the lighting in the mirror. So it was scrapped because visually it looked abysmal. In retrospect, I like the current beginning a lot better anyway. So as Bob Ross would say, "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents."

This has always been a planned future possibility and remains so. It'll just be a late game thing.

I don't see the Purple outline for the therapist/ can't talk to her between sessions. Is this a Bug or am I doing something wrong? And if you're scrapping this idea, take that line out of the Tutorial so people don't try looking for it and end up writing a post here like this. I imagine it would save you a lot of time and aggravation not to have that question asked a million times if you don't actually have it ingame

Finished post processing images. Have to do a little work later today and tomorrow to finalize the music and sound effects and I'll have these out to $10 patrons for playtesting.

Should be starting up live streams on the next round of art tomorrow or Friday.
