Is there not an incest patch/bugfix mod?

It's missing the tag.
i don´t think that a game becomes and incest tag when there exist an incest mod. When they are like step family then they will become this tag when they have sex but in this game there are not releated so i´m not sure that this game will become an incest tag

Truly sorry mate! I didn't mean for this to happen and it certainly wasn't part of the plan.
Oh I know, for the record, I'm not whining or bitching about what amounts to a minor snafu, I've seen these things happen as part of the dev cycle and if any dev has earned the graciousness of the community it's you, you've gone above and beyond and really done a lot to show how 'the sausage gets made' as it were and that level of transparency is greatly appreciated. I was dying for a chance to use that meme and was just having a bit of fun though, it wasn't intended as a dig and I hope it didn't come across like that, I just got back on and saw all the bitching and don't wanna be lumped in with that.

Just because I plan to sleep with: my Daughter and her friends, Lola, Nanami and Lupita plus whoever else. Doesn't mean I can't also be nice to the wife :p
Well, but it's still a betrayal for her. By the way, in the last update I played, I told her that I had an affair and ... her reaction was the ... normal:LOL:

Wow, so the last content update was February, 9 MONTHS AGO and all we get is some playtest?

It's the patreons I feel sorry for.

If any Patreons are reading this, guys vote with your wallet, only sub on months with content updates, unsub if there's none the next. Only support the Devs who truely deserve it. I know you're all thinking the same at this point, but this is becoming a terrbible and downright lazy, money grubbing attitude with a lot of Devs these days, not just this one.
Don't cry for us VN pirate,
The truth is we're more than happy,
With supporting,
A game developer,
Who keeps us informed,
And entertains us.

Why is everyone bitching?

I check this thread sometimes (never comment) to see if there is any info about the development of the game, since the dev of this game communicates with people on this pirate site quite often which is cool to me, and pretty commendable. At some point i was also thinking what the hold up was, and correct me if i am wrong but somewhere in this thread he said that he liked doing the art more than the coding side, so he made a program that does the code for him so he never had to bother with it again and can entirely focus on making art and making a good story. And this as far as i know took a while to set up and create.

And if you all cared so much about this game, why not take 2-3 minutes to check the comment section and see whats the hold up, and check if you can find any info? Instead you take 2 minutes to write a comment to bitch and moan, while you don't even know whats going on and why there is a hold up lol..
I try to be as open and honest with ever stage of development as I can. And of course instead of bitching and whining, people can always address me directly through several different channels. I do my utmost best to reply to every communication that comes my way and give the most honest answers possible.

And I wouldn't say that I hated to code, it's just that by itself it was time consuming and required a tremendous amount of effort. Now I have script I can run that does it all for me. With just a few short notations, entire lines of code get properly written which speeds things up and greatly reduces the possibility for errors (cause if you played my game you'd know typos are my thing...even in my code.)

Well, thank you for your concern, I will indeed support devs that truly deserve it. Such as RomanHume. Bisous.
And I thank you greatly for that support!

-Sees game updated-
FUCK YESS!!!
-Sees that it's a play test-
... My boner is dead. I wait for the proper version.
Sorry for the misinformation. I didn't share it. Just keep that dick on life support and as soon as I finish the actual update we'll see if we can't revive it for you.

I see no issue in a developer taking time to rebuild their game to better suit a certain set of standards, if this developer wants to focus on art assets over code? By all means that's what we the player are interacting with, why not take the time to make robust programming to effectively carry the burden you don't want bogging you down?

The patrons have voted with their wallets, they saw this coming and if they really had such an issue they'd leave, for real bad patreons don't stay up for long outside of very few outliers who managed to find enough simps to milk. As pirates there is no room for complaints when a developer is actually doing what they said they would, and I look forward to seeing what these developments will show for progress down the line.
Plus I try to type as fast as I think that inevitably leads to many errors in my code that later have to be debugged out. So having the script write the code based off a short hand notation reduces those errors considerably. Plus it's a platform I can use for future games as well.

I think when one considers most of the summer was spent writing lines of script and dealing with all the fall out from pandemics, etc... I mean to be perfectly fair, we didn't really get to start digging into the Cassie chapter until the second week of September. That's when the first render came out for the chapter. So in about six weeks we created and rendered over 450 images to go along with 8,000 words or so of script.

For a part time project I'm not ashamed of those numbers at all.

So you aboned the playtest?
I love that aboned is now a thing!

Quit bitching, we are shite pirates, fishing always for freebees. Would be different if we were patreons. But we are not. So quit yapping. There are many devs who do really like NOTHING. This one here works always on his project, keeping the audience(yes even us) up to date like no other dev. Even does collective brainstorming with the people here, which is quite rare. It takes as much as it takes, he does not dillydally. Good thing is, it will be done, it is just a matter of time, and in our case time is not our money here.
Hey, I was a pirate before I was developer and I don't forget where I come from. My philosophy is that one day pirates may be patrons, so treat everyone like a valued player. Besides, some of the best ideas for my game came from pirates on this thread. (y)

I appreciate the vote of confidence though. Hopefully the final numbers in this next release will speak for themselves.

Well, every single dev that tried to rebuild their system, either abandoned their games or milked for a couple of months, then remake again, and again, and again and again, and had never introduced new content ever again.
Right....but my rebuilt code is done and there's nothing else I'm looking to add to it. It has all the features I want and need to tell my store. No more, no less.

And were these other developers Live Streaming Daz and Coding sessions for four and five hour stretches throughout the week?

Shit, I had more than a couple of streams these last few weeks that lasted over six hours. I guess when it comes to milking patrons I suck at it cause clearly I'm doing too much work.

Good game, snail pace update. Not much else to say.
I mean, I like the first part of what you said. And of course I won't deny the second either.

Actually I'm a patreon, but I'm always here anyway, Patreon and discord are pretty boring if you want to discuss (and it's not like I can afford to patreon EVERY dev anyway). But in my experience it's us who are patreons that keep the discussion civil and are fairly patient. When someone is in here bitching in Engrish, endlessly asking for updates and generally turning the thread toxic, it's a pretty safe bet that they're not patreons.
Firstly, thank you so much for your support! Every bit helps and thanks to you guys we've just about finished the build on the second computer which will help with the renders tremendously. Having two systems jamming out the art is going to be amazing!

The shower scenes in that play test took almost 2 hours a piece to render. Easily the longest in the series but there was a lot of water and reflective surfaces in the chrome that I blame for it.

And for what it's worth, my patrons are the best! Not because they are patrons, but because they are on F95 and know where to get the game for free but still choose to support the project and that means a lot to me!

At least it is good that it was just a playtest and people are finding bugs.. so you still win one way or another..
And surprisingly I haven't had that many come in. So that bolsters my confidence further in the coding.

I did not understand this. Are you saying that you don't want to be able to overwrite the "neighbor" by "dad" as it is doing now, or that for some reason it is not working?
Uh, not quite. So in the "Contacts" tab, you can select a character and change what they call you. When you create the character and give him a name, this field is still defaulted to Roger. So in those instances where you'd get called by your nickname, it will still show "Roger" unless you manually changed it in the planner for each character.

I'm just working on a way to get those fields to update, but only if you haven't gone in and manually changed the nickname. It's a loophole I have to close up and I'm hoping I come up with a simple solution before the release.

Sure I could use a flag or something when the player changes the nickname in the planner. But I'm to avoid introducing a bunch of flags and variables to track stuff because the more there are, the greater the chance for a game break.

You don’t mind this game for the second or third time, if my memory does not change, the first version of the game was released in 2017 or I don’t remember exactly and the name was different right now I don’t remember
Yeah that was back when I had a couple other guys helping develop the game and everyone on the forum hated us. Ah...those were the days.

Guess you were wrong eh?

Man the people on the early pages of this thread were very whiny about the game.
I mean, we got slammed pretty hard. But knowing the history of some other devs and being completely new to Daz, Patreon, Renpy...and, well everything. We made some dumb mistakes in the beginning. Some of those were written off as us being arrogant and greedy when in fact we had absolutely no way to know how to properly market the game.

But everything that was said was read and the valuable advice was taken and adhered to and the basic bitching was discarded. So ultimately all the negative feedback helped steer everything into a better direction.

I believe the patrons who watch the livestreams of the dev working and interact with him on a daily basis are more than happy with where their money goes.
I certainly hope so! None of them have complained to me any way. :)

Why not simply force at the beginning of the game the player to "manually" change it by imposing that they define those variables?

EDIT: ohh forget what I said, I think it what you suggested but wanted to avoid.

Couple of things for RomanHume

1. Thanks for the Playtest excited to see all the changes play out
2. Holy shit being able to select your character model is huge for me, since it's rare for any of the games here to actually let you play as someone that looks like me.
3. Loved the Cassie Preview, can't wait to see more.

Bugs I found:
-When starting a new game, the Doc nicknames you Rog, however, you can go in and change this and it'll go as normal.
-You can't change Cassie's last name no matter how much you try and set it and just like the doc you have to go in and set your nickname. With her.

Awesome stuff otherwise, though.
1. You're welcome, though I can't take credit for sharing it here. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
2. My pleasure. It's something I wanted to do for awhile now but implementing it was a bitch because it required writing all this alternate code for each image. Now that my code is generated via script, I no longer have to type out all the definitions. They get created for me thus making such an option much, much easier than ever before.
3.Can't wait to bring you more!

-Working on the Dock nicknames thing.
-I think I have it programmed so that Emily's name and Cassie's name will always be a derivative of the last name you give the character (which can now be changed any time you like as well).

Is changing the last names separately something players would actually want? Would players want to give Emily and Cassie last names that differ from the MC? I'm asking because I made an assumption they would want them the same, but now you have me thinking I could be wrong. Let me know your thoughts.

This kind of stuff amuses me. I'm one of the supporters, there's regular updates and live streams of the work on the game. It's not like he's some radio silent dev just dragging his feet. Also, I am voting with my wallet, I believe in this project, thus my support. If I wasn't a paying supporter, it's not like I'd be spending that money on another dev, I'd just have a little bit more in the bank at the end of the month.

I think far too many people get overly entitled and think that if a game doesn't update every month or so then the dev is just ripping people off. I support 2 devs and both of them take a long time with updates. This is fine with me, I don't need instant gratification and I regularly interact with those devs. At the end of the day it's my money and I'll hand it out where I want; if down the road this game peters out unfinished, well that's life, we don't always get what we want.
And I appreciate every single dollar of support! And I know you've been around long enough to know that if things fizzle or they are are problems, I'll notify everyone up front. In the meantime, my general policy is, if I'm working on the game, I'm streaming it.

We even did some audio editing and coding during one of the streams last week.

Yup, it hasn't updated in hours, it must be abandoned!!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Ahem....you mean...Aboned?

The interface in the playtest looks much better and more intuitive.
Can't wait to have all the content added over and let's get little gem up to the current chapter!
I appreciate the feedback! One of my design goals was to try and make it so that you didn't require a guide to use the journal. I attempted to make the tabs self explanatory and to include some quick instructions in each one on how to use what's there. Hopefully people find it simple and beneficial.

We're already moving at a much faster pace than before. And once this second computer is built, we should be rendering at over twice the speed as well! Exciting times are ahead!

I must be missing something. how do you play the playtest? Ive tried to play it as is, and tried to over write the old one. No Dice.
Here are the instructions I included in the Patreon Post (since the play test already leaked I don't suppose there is a reason to hoarde them...)

Download the Playtest by itself and keep it separate from the previous game, the two versions are not compatible at all!

IMPORTANT!
To access Cassie's Chapters do the following:

1. Play to the end of content screen.

2. Open the Journal and go to the "Cheats" tab, Turn Cheat Mode On.

3. Open the "Replay" tab, Cassie's Chapter is now accessible.

4. When the Chapter starts, Open the Journal and Click on the "Contacts" tab.

5. As long as Cheat Mode is turned on, you click on Cassie and then click on "View Character Stats"

6. With cheat mode on, you can modify any of her stats to customize the chapter play through as you like.

This is missing an incest tag
Since there is no explicit incest in the game F95 policy is that it cannot carry the tag. Their rules, not mine.

Getting a crash before even reaching the start menu. Downloaded the test compressed version.

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

While running game code:
File "game/images/start/start.rpy", line 12, in script
amana '"Before we can start, we first need to establish a few features about your character."'
File "game/images/start/start.rpy", line 12, in script
amana '"Before we can start, we first need to establish a few features about your character."'
Exception: Could not find font u'sexsmith.ttf'.
I know other players have reported this problem with the Mac version of the game. Can you confirm if you're also playing the Mac version?

Is there not an incest patch/bugfix mod?

It's missing the tag.
There is, but it's unofficial. I didn't make it. Other parties on the forum did. I think one reason it cannot have the tag even though there is a patch, is because if those generous parties creating the patch ever decide to stop, then the patch goes unfinished and incest stops at a certain point. Not sure of the official rules on that though.

If the game is obviously set up as an incest game, and all it takes is slightly changing text or dialogue to make it actually incest, it's gone past needing the tag.
Take it up with the forum moderators. I gots no control over the dealio.

For what it's worth I didn't think you were whining. I'm perfectly fine with people expressing their severe disappointment. I'm flattered people like the game enough to be disappointed when updates don't come. I've been that position before *cough*isctor*cough* so I completely understand.

If people are just letting me know they're unhappy and displeased, I can empathize and will offer my sincere apologies. But people who accuse me of milking without seeing all the work I do on the weekly basis for this game, well those people can fuck themselves. :D (which you didn't do!)

Think i will wait for the full release..hehe
I certainly wouldn't blame you.

Last update was in february. WTF
The developer is a lazy, patron milking piece of shit. What can I say. Fuck that guy. Fuck this game.
