So just a couple of notes since this is already spreading like wild fire. The goal here was not to introduce a mini-game for the sake of adding a mini-game. I'm making serious effort to make the poker game dovetail smoothly with the story. This includes things like randomized cross talk between the characters, as well as random cross talk between the characters and the MC. There will also be a few 'cut scenes' as well as during certain parts of the mini-game like when characters are losing clothes or sharing information that actually drives the main story forward.

I do not intend to have story, story story -STOP- Mini game - RESUME- story, story story...

The goal is to have story + poker game unfolding simultaneously with the characters saying and doing more than just showing their cards at the end of the round. Especially since people chatter a lot around a casual game of poker.

If all goes well the poker game will flow seamlessly with the story and have story built into it as well.

However, it does play like a virtual poker game and the outcome is not predetermined. It's simple five card draw with no ante or betting system (Jane came up with her own set of rules for everyone to play by!). And of course for those who don't like mini-games or just want to get to the good stuff, I'll continue to include option buttons allowing you to cheat on a hand or even skip the whole thing entirely.

And don't worry, the only time things are 'covered' is at the end of the round when all the cards are shown. The rest of the time I made sure to keep the gui well out of the way of all the good stuff.
This looks and sounds good, but I'm sure there are some of us that hope this doesn't take away time and development from the more conventional storytelling in the game

Does that mean you would have to replay the poker game multiple times to get all dialogue/outcome? As in repeated playthroughs, for a different outcome in the poker game? What I‘m getting at is: Will this lock out scenes depending on who wins and who loses?

Not at all. I programmed the poker game and interface over the course of a weekend. I just need a few more images and then it's pretty much just programming dialogue which is super quick and easy.

To get all the little random dialogue, yeah. But it's just flavor text. The story relevant stuff will all use a more controlled delivery method.

I've installed the patch but it keeps introducing Cassie as the neighbor's daughter. Is there a button I'm supposed to hit to enable taboo stuff?
i think you play the version 1.1.5 or? Did you use the currect mod for that version and not the mod for the version 2.0.0P? these are difference mods and don´t support the other game version. When you use the currect mod did you become the question for overwrite files? because that comes for the version 1.1.5.If not you have maybe installed the wrong mod or put the files wrong in the folder.I have extra redownload the version 1.1.5 to test this and the mod works for me.I attach you screenshots from my game. The number 1 and 3 are without the mod is installed

If the poker scene offers replayability - can we replay it outside of the main story or would it need a save from right before it starts?

I get that, but this is literally the character's introduction. It seems like the most obvious place to check to see if you've changed things properly, which is why I just assumed that I had done something wrong.
Sometimes the patch breaks, idk. I didn't make it, not sure if it has been updated anyway.

Take it out on the patch maker.

I'm confused...
I made the mistake of deleting the previous version (not sure which one I had, but going off of the questions leading up to playing 2.0, I'd say I was up to date) prior to deleting the 2.0 version..
If things are as they should, the 2.0 version consists of 1 scene?

any way... does the game continue in 2.0? is that a parallel thing and should I still have the other version/progression?
why the split?
do we have an idea whether the next update will be building on the story in 1.1.5, or take the detour of 2.0?
should the 2 versions have been glued together in 1 game?

IIRC 1.1.5 is over already. All subsequent updates will be for 2.0 and the plan for the dev is to gradually reintroduce the events from 1.1.5 into 2.0.

I could be wrong but I asked a similar question and I recall the dev telling me something along this line .

gotcha... do we know if he's focusing on the do-over or on the development of the plot? because as much as I appreciate that he might feel he can do better on the previous scenes, I'm kinda curious to find out more about the plot :p
