I'd suggest just downloading v1.1.5 and v2.0.0P now while you know they're still up (play 1.1.5 first. The two files were originally going to be merged back together later, before game got abandoned. 2.0 continues from 1.1.5). I almost hesitate to suggest that, since you'll be playing a game that cuts off after one and a quarter chapters and won't be restarted. Though for strictly utilitarian purposes... watching a quarter of a porno still gets the job done. "But I wanted to see how it would end" *as the viewer sobs and zips up their pants again*. :KEK:

It was one of the best games on this site though in story, renders (expressions, lighting, natural feel) and pacing.

It would be better to go into the new one (not available yet on F95) without any expectations, as if it's an entirely different game & design team. Because it will be (sounds like).
Im used to playing a game for cutoffs, i try to stay away from abandoned games but depending on the size and update version ill probably play it.

Ngl, i actually do play 90% of these for the story, what can i say i love a good story.

Not re-released or rebranded all new. Also from what is being said on their Discord is this from the Developer.

oh yeah!
i also forgot, expect everything to change.
the name of the game, the story, the backstories.
just look at this as a brand new game with familiar characters.
the spiritual successor of Dr. Amana if you will.
I don't understand, why bother "continuing" the game if you're basically going to make a completely different experience? It really feels like meepish is piggybacking on an existing fanbase to jumpstart her own project. If she truly cares for DAST and its vision, she and RomanHume wouldn't disagree so much that he relinquished 90% of the creative control to her.

I don't want to overhype as that leads to disappointment. But IMO, it was the most well-written on this site, considering both story and dialogue. (I don't think that's an exaggeration either, based on the poop usually on F95). So it's a shame it's not continuing as such.

Eh, the game was dead anyways. If someone wants to pick up the assets and make something inspired by it with the old creators blessing, why not? Better than letting it all fall over and disappear.

That basically is "letting it fall over and disappear", TBF. I'm looking forward to Meepish's game, but from what's been said so far (without actually getting the game myself yet), pretending like it's anything at all related to this one is borderline dishonest. It's an entirely new game, with an entirely new background for characters, with entirely new story elements, etc. Calling it a "spiritual successor" (which Meepish has done) is definitely the more accurate way to describe it. There's very little relation to this game now. Names are the same (mostly?) and models are somewhat similar (but going G8 from the past models forces considerable differences), but from what I can gather it otherwise doesn't really share much with this one.

Once more, I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but she really needs all of that stuff separated: acting like it's just a new game she and RomanHume collaborate on, getting a new thread for it here, etc. Without those things, you're just going to continue to get people (like me from several months ago) who at first might think this game will get new life breathed into it or something. That isn't even remotely true, so continuing here to pretend like it's the same game is a mistake, IMO.

I'm absolutely not dissing on Meepish (frankly, I've been impressed with her renders so far), but please let's call it what it is: a totally new game sparked by the very basic concept of this one, but in no other way even remotely related.

Yes I did. Beauty of the English language as different words for the same thing set a different tone. ("Poop" is more dismissive than "shit" IMO, which is what I was going for). Just like "diddle" can sometimes be cruder than "fuck". :WeSmart: You're not talking to a prude, here.

I don't have time to go through the past hundred pages. Can someone sum things up?
Is this game actually abandoned? If it's being redone, is there a new page for it?

Abandoned. Some of the characters will be 'sort of' reimagined by a friend of the dev's in another game that will likely be very different. Original dev will be involved very little, sounds like. So the strengths of the game may be very different.

The original vision is abandoned, so if a new version ever pops up here, consider it as the spiritual successor.

It has been dead for a very long time. It was dead for 2+ years while the person who took over the project learned Daz. Then there was the single release (2.0) and it went back to really, really dead. Now for the past 3 years has been talks about trying to get it going again, finding an artist, etc.

The most honest statement in this entire thread is found pretty early on:
Hello everyone,

We have to say we're surprised and excited to find everyone here talking about this game, even though we didn't post it in this forum. My name is Roman, I'm a dev and marketing guy for the untitled IAF posted here. I've been reading through your posts and I'm thrilled to see all of it, good and bad. I'm hoping that posting up here I can answer some questions and maybe dispel some of the negativity around our project.

2. There isn't shit to the story.
This is true, very, very true. This project officially kicked off on December 14th, 2017. It started as round table discussion that quickly evolved into a bunch of buddies wanting to put together something fun...

5. In it for the money and looking to quit some jobs.
While the prospect is enticing, I can't conceive of a scenario where we'd make enough money on Patreon to match our combined 4 salaries and afford us the liberty to quite our jobs and do this full time. At the end of the day, this is a hobby, and if you can get a hobby to pay for itself while you're having fun, so much the better.

6. You're going to milk the shit out of this and live off the residuals for years.
Unfortunately we are a bunch with very active imaginations. Which means we've already thought several games past this one. The middle aged corporate executive character is only one of several stories we'd like to tell. All in all, we've got 4 more games we want to build after this, and I'm sure that list will grow as we continue to hang out and shoot the shit.
Six years. The vast majority (5+ years) of it was forum discussions while collecting Patreon checks.

As others have stated, the "new version" in the works is a different game, with some simularities with what was attempted in the past. It should have a new title, a new thread to promote the work of the new dev (if/when it comes out). But I wouldn't expect much, other than more years of forum posts.

Yeah a lot of what you say is Bullshit

The first gap was everyone abandoned Roman leaving him to try and craft story and graphics all alone while working a day job
Clearly posted long ago that they had no intent of leaving their day jobs
Roman did a lot. Got things revamped and released v2 with the hope of getting the first part under his new skills.
But his job called him to do more and he told us all that (Patreon and Pirates alike) he could not continue graphic work... at all
He was looking for a new artist because again he told us he could not continue

No one was scammed into paying for forum chat
He said he could not continue and ANYONE who kept paying knew that

Cut to the new artist and she has creative differences so the game will have echoes of the original but will be it's own game

She has not released anything so again ANYONE who is paying is clearly OK with that.

Your implications of milking or scamming are the tired old jealousy of silly people paying money to something that isn't making anything. But they are free to do that.
