Did you really say "Poop" instead of shit.. on a.. a porn game site? O.O anyway lol ill play it since i do like a good story
Yes I did. Beauty of the English language as different words for the same thing set a different tone. ("Poop" is more dismissive than "shit" IMO, which is what I was going for). Just like "diddle" can sometimes be cruder than "fuck". :WeSmart: You're not talking to a prude, here.

I don't have time to go through the past hundred pages. Can someone sum things up?
Is this game actually abandoned? If it's being redone, is there a new page for it?

Abandoned. Some of the characters will be 'sort of' reimagined by a friend of the dev's in another game that will likely be very different. Original dev will be involved very little, sounds like. So the strengths of the game may be very different.

The original vision is abandoned, so if a new version ever pops up here, consider it as the spiritual successor.

It has been dead for a very long time. It was dead for 2+ years while the person who took over the project learned Daz. Then there was the single release (2.0) and it went back to really, really dead. Now for the past 3 years has been talks about trying to get it going again, finding an artist, etc.

The most honest statement in this entire thread is found pretty early on:
Hello everyone,

We have to say we're surprised and excited to find everyone here talking about this game, even though we didn't post it in this forum. My name is Roman, I'm a dev and marketing guy for the untitled IAF posted here. I've been reading through your posts and I'm thrilled to see all of it, good and bad. I'm hoping that posting up here I can answer some questions and maybe dispel some of the negativity around our project.

2. There isn't shit to the story.
This is true, very, very true. This project officially kicked off on December 14th, 2017. It started as round table discussion that quickly evolved into a bunch of buddies wanting to put together something fun...

5. In it for the money and looking to quit some jobs.
While the prospect is enticing, I can't conceive of a scenario where we'd make enough money on Patreon to match our combined 4 salaries and afford us the liberty to quite our jobs and do this full time. At the end of the day, this is a hobby, and if you can get a hobby to pay for itself while you're having fun, so much the better.

6. You're going to milk the shit out of this and live off the residuals for years.
Unfortunately we are a bunch with very active imaginations. Which means we've already thought several games past this one. The middle aged corporate executive character is only one of several stories we'd like to tell. All in all, we've got 4 more games we want to build after this, and I'm sure that list will grow as we continue to hang out and shoot the shit.
Six years. The vast majority (5+ years) of it was forum discussions while collecting Patreon checks.

As others have stated, the "new version" in the works is a different game, with some simularities with what was attempted in the past. It should have a new title, a new thread to promote the work of the new dev (if/when it comes out). But I wouldn't expect much, other than more years of forum posts.

Yeah a lot of what you say is Bullshit

The first gap was everyone abandoned Roman leaving him to try and craft story and graphics all alone while working a day job
Clearly posted long ago that they had no intent of leaving their day jobs
Roman did a lot. Got things revamped and released v2 with the hope of getting the first part under his new skills.
But his job called him to do more and he told us all that (Patreon and Pirates alike) he could not continue graphic work... at all
He was looking for a new artist because again he told us he could not continue

No one was scammed into paying for forum chat
He said he could not continue and ANYONE who kept paying knew that

Cut to the new artist and she has creative differences so the game will have echoes of the original but will be it's own game

She has not released anything so again ANYONE who is paying is clearly OK with that.

Your implications of milking or scamming are the tired old jealousy of silly people paying money to something that isn't making anything. But they are free to do that.

I personally feel the new game should have its own thread.
because every time there is an update
People will just assume it's for this and keep asking questions.
Or complain that this is dead.

That's just my opinion on the situation of course.
Agree. Best option would be to keep this as abandoned, open a new thread and have a link in the OG post of this thread to the other game, calling it out as a "spiritual successor" of sorts.

You may be right, but at the current moment, the new games is still in development and hasn't been published. Perhaps once it gets published it will get its own thread.

Well, according to the Patreon account (which has been rebranded and handed over to meepish), a 1.0 release (as in "first version ever", I assume) has already happened.

However, as was already said, we know basically nothing of the new game, and it's safer to assume it's a completely new game. Well, since the title has completely changed, the story and writing have also changed hands and direction, and the rendering software was upgraded requiring to rebuild the old models practically from scratch (not to talk about the whole background rendering shenanigans), even the definition of "spiritual successor" may be a stretch - "partly inspired by" is probably more accurate.
