In the journal it appears as "Cassie H....something" with the H changing depending on...uh.....other...factors.How will you handle Cassie's last name? Will it always be Harighnton, or will it change based on Roger's?

It's algorithmic man! But whenever you change Roger's last name it kicks off a quick script to update Emily and....her....
I gave her credit for the inspiration from day one. Originally I had nothing like the planner in the game. But after playing H5 I saw the value of having an in-game database to help players keep track of characters and such. Then as I started to think about how many characters I had planned and how complex my story could end up, I realized that there was a huge value in having that kind of interface.I like the little Nottravis thing on the planner, a subtle little shoutout to Notty
While our in game tracks function very differently and I built mine from the ground up, it was H5 that turned on the light!

If they tackle the issues of APKs created by RAPT only being capable of using one expansion file the people playing VNs with painstakingly detailed renders on fiddly touchscreen devices would be all over them, drowning them in money.For your next big project RomanHume you could re-write renpy itself
There is nothing to play because very few games of my preference progressed enough to be playable. Maybe about 5 games from whole site in 4-5 years since I have been here.

Look, if I didn't like the game, I wouldn't be her. This is one of few games that made me want to be supporter... but ... I think that devs cannot just take money and produce nothing for months... call me crazy... but I think that he needs to finds some way to compromise between his need to improve and learn as developer and releasing updates...
You try working and being a solo dev, while learning several new pieces of software and how to code on top of it. See how quickly you put out your updates. Not everyone wants to churn out derivative content with store bought assets and quickie, low quality renders.
Quality over quantity and all that.

He's been very clear after a few false starts trying to put together a team (in order to churn those regular updates) that as a solo hobbiest this would be a crawl. People can choose to fund him or not - he's been totally transparent about the process. If it's not fast enough for you and there aren't other interesting games, learn Daz and Renpy. I'll be happy to check on you every couple weeks and give some criticism how fast you aren't once you get started. Just let me know once you have a project going!

Last update was only 4 months ago and in that time he's been busy working on the game and making things easier for himself in the long run with some short term hardship (writing code to write code). Have you not been reading the patreon posts?
Plus he has a family so can't just do this 24/7
Generally by age one a child develops a sense of object permanence in which they understand that just because they can't see, touch, taste or smell something, it still exists. Just because I don't have a finished chapter to hand you right now, for fucking free, you think that I'm just sitting back and banking patreon money and I'm not actually working. Considering I've put in over 300+ hours of work since the last release, I take a huge fucking offence to that.
Tell you what, I'll send you all the code and game files that I have on my hard drive right now. And you can open up the copy of the game that's on your computer and then you can go through them one by one and look at the plethora of fucking changes that I've put into this game since the last update. The hours of writing, testing, writing, testing to ensure that when I do deliver the game, it doesn't fucking break like it does nearly every time I release.
I'm more than ready to put my money where my mouth is! I'll zip this shit and fire it over to you right now if it'll shut you up.
It's not about improving and learning moron. It's about increased stability to ensure saves don't break and to create a platform that allows me to focus on the only part of the project you think matters, the writing and the rendering. If you read any of the news releases I put out you'd know that.
And you know what? Fuck what you think about devs and their patrons. My relationship with my patrons is none of your goddamned business. If they didn't want to support me, they wouldn't. And I'm going to get offended on their behalf that you think you know better than them what they should do with their own money. I've never asked anyone for a dime. Not once.
I don't deride pirates. I treat every player like a paying customer. I'm a huge advocate on this forum and even mention it to my patrons (possibly shooting myself in the ass by showing them where I can get my game for free). People who support me trust me and believe me to be a man of my word. They see the value of the long term goal and appreciate the vision I have for this project. They've seen not only my dedication to quality, but to making sure that I"m delivering the best product and custom service experience that I can.
And I appreciate that my game made you "think" about being a supporter. But I'm going on record right now and telling you to never do it. If I recognize your handle or your id on patreon, I'm going to refund that shit and block you. I have enough to do without someone thinking they suddenly have the power to micromanage me just because they tipped me a dollar.
These last few months of dealing with outsourced art, failed attempts at team building, writing new chapters, rendering as much as possible and wrangling Renpy into doing exactly what I need it to do in a way I can trust it not to break in the future has been very mentally taxing. You coming in and accusing me of taking another's hard earned money and doing nothing for it, is why you're getting told to piss off.

If you are not paying why complain about how the money is spent? I supported Ianvs since he decided to restart the game from scratch. I caught it here just in time to play the old version before reboot and loved it. I actually feel bad at how much effort he puts into this game for how little payoff. He just recently crossed a 1000$ on Patreon despite top tier renders and writing. People also have a job, they can't throw themselves at making a game 24-7. And those who do burn out. Chill dude
Fair enough. I've been mulling this one over hard for a bit.When I posted about Lola/Lita, in my head the way that would work is if you enable trans content, you can pick between Lola and Lita when Rodger goes to the club, and if you disabled trans, you would automatically go to Lita.
Now, the way I imagined that choice being made is pretty simple, Rodger would simply choose to go left or right when looking around in the club. One direction would go to Lola, and the other Lita, this choice is skipped if you disable trans. If you picked Lita, but had trans on, that doesn't disable future trans content.
As far as Lola/Lita both dating MC, I don't think you need to do that. It can still be binary, for the most part. It's interesting that you're considering having them promoted to main girls, I personally think it'd be interesting if they were "hybrid" characters.
A hybrid basically means they are a combination of a side and main girl, they don't have full red/blue paths like the other main girls, they combine into a red/blue path. They'd have a split portrait in the character selection screen. Going blue would eventually mean that Rodger will end up dating Lola, going red would mean Lita. Lola doesn't have a red path, Lita doesn't have a blue path, if you stay in the middle, you can either fool around with both, but never begin an actual relationship, or not get with either of them. If you disable trans, that just disables Lola's side of the path so you are stopped from going blue.
TLDR, it's combining two characters into a single red/blue path. One character is the blue, the other red. Polar opposites, if you will
I would love to eliminate the trans option and just make it so you can pick between the two when you get to the club, but if I don't reveal ahead of time that Lola is transgender, I'm going to upset some players who pick her and are then surprised and turned off when she "opens up".
The only option would be to reveal to players ahead of that choice that she's transgender. But if I reveal ahead of time that Lola is transgender, then the entertaining scene with the "big reveal" can't happen and would have to change. Personally I love that scene.
I think for now I'm going to just leave things as is. But in another scene or two, once a player on either path, trans or no trans, has had a chance to really get to understand what each character is about, give them the chance the chose between Lita or Lola.

Same with Amanda, if you go blue, your relationship will be flavored different than on the red path. It's hard to say much more without dropping too many spoilers.
I should clarify. I'm only talking about adding girls if/when this new method of development sans coding proves to be fast and efficient. I'm sticking with the main girls for now and if I reach a point where I think I can produce content reasonably fast, I'll throw in some more Primary Lovers.Hang on - didn't you say earlier that 7 main girls was too many? To see almost all scenes, play each girl twice - one red, one blue.
The point I think I was making is that I'm restructuring the code so that when/if I find myself in that position, I can upgrade any character by converting their "Supporting Cast" object into a "Lover" object. This gives them some additional stats to track and changes where and how they appear in some menus. I'm laying the ground work now just in case.
