Same here, started with a few artifacts but then whole screen became like that and it was unplayable. Closing and restarting seemed to fix it. With Unity games that usually means a nasty memory leak, not sure if it's the same with renpy.
edit : It's animations that seem to break it.

This game is really great staged and very ambitious...i hope Dev continious it with that gorgous quality and dont drop it soon. The setting,story and graphics are really great made but i think to make only a short update with this quality is already a bunch of work and the resulting length maybe not satisfying for players...or we have to wait longer for new releases. And i am afraid that like other games which got started with this high level quality it will get abandoned soon just because of the workload to keep this quality and long period between new releases. Lets hope for the best. Game is really top notch in every aspect. But i recommend a stronger machine to play it.

I like to say the GUI is great, clean, and not busy with links and flashing pics in the background, and you can actually see the save in its slot. In some of these games, you can hardly see the buttons on the side.
