Hello everyone.
Work has finally started on the next set of scenes, these are specifically the Louise and Cindy (separated) parts.
Both of these take place in the shower section of the beach house. Up until this point in the game this part of the house wasn't really shown, thus I had to spend some time fleshing out the environment. I am pleased with the result.
With that graft out of the way I should be able to focus on the static images before moving onto the animations I intend for these scenes. A side effect of all this is learning how to create a realistic wet effect for both Louise and Cindy's skin.
Next week's supporter only post will have some preview images, but until then:

(For those keeping count, don't let that figure of 54 confuse you, 28 animations have a total 6420 rendered frames.)
I didn't finish this when I first heard of it some months ago and I couldn't remember why, so I replayed it when this update came out. Everything was fine until we get to the beach house and the game seems to turn into a sandbox and my motivation to continue drains quickly. Oh, yeah that was why. How long does that format last? Does it ever end or does the game just stay that way?

Hello all,
In this Development update I want to highlight what's comming next in update 0.4.9.
Don't let the small version increase fool you, there's a few good scenes being added to round out chapter four as well as some system updates. Let's take a closer look at what you can expect.
Chapter One Remaster:
Many of you already are aware of this on-going work. The next update includes a re-design and re-render of the images used in chapter one, specifically the scenes where you meet Cindy and Jon for the first time.
Old images are on the left, whilst the new re-mastered are to the right. (In case it wasn't blatantly obvious!)
It's only when these images are side by side that I can really see just how much of a difference there is. I guess that's four years of progress, though of course even now I'm always striving for improvement. Perfection is an ever moving goal that can never be attained, so long as I feel my skills are progressing then I am content.
The re-master is not just contained to the images, the scenes themselves have been updated, in some cases completely re-written, though the original intent is still there some elements of the story that (at the time) were as yet unknown, have been introduced earlier.
Game systems update:
Game systems include things like the replay menu, which has been updated and a couple of long standing bugs have been fixed. The animation replays are now persistent so they will remain unlocked across saves.
Unfortunately due to the way I have implemented choices as part of the scenes a replay of those more intimate moments is not possible. It's a nice to have, but given I'm hoping to finish out this game with chapter five, I just do not have enough time left to devote to this.
Several long standing bugs with bonus images and relationship screens have also been corrected.
Walkthrough:
Yes, you read that right. I have gone through and added a walkthrough that can be toggled on at any time via the settings menu. This was a massive undertaking as I wanted to give you, the player, ultimate control on your choices.
Some of the 'supportive' text (orange) may need to be re-worded so that it is easy to understand. You could (in theory) select the 'realistic' route but decide to get back together with Louise, which would then put you over to the supportive route.
Let's call this version 1 of the walkthrough. It will most likely need some tweaking but the structure is in place. Does this mean other mods or guides will no longer be updated. The PDF walkthrough guide is specific to a Louise Route and it is entirely up to ZoeyRaven is he chooses to continue writing it.
Mods are, however, entirely outside of my control.
Additional scenes not featured in 0.4.8b:
There are three additional scenes that were cut from the previous update for time. These feature Louise, Cindy and Cassie (separately). They slot into chapter four in the morning before leaving the beach house. For anyone with a save at the end of chapter four I have created a call back (in story) that will allow you to 'go back' to those scenes.
For anyone who gets to those scenes naturally i.e. have not reached the end of chapter four. They will not get the call back as they will encounter the scenes through normal playthrough.
Bugfixes!:
Part of doing the walkthrough allowed me to really focus in on some bugs that have been missed repeatedly. Some of them ever since version 0.1.0! These bugs are often missed due to me (and the testers) speeding through the first parts of the game, very rarely choosing alternative choices as, what I do, when it comes to testing new content, it's easier to manually trigger variables and conditions on or off via the ren'py console command.
This teaches me to not take the early game for granted and to remember other routes exist and need just as much testing.
Christmas / Holiday special:
I'm not one for doing these, outside of the one-off images I produce each year. However I have a rare opportunity to actually get a short, but fun Christmas themed special into the next update. The writing for it is done, and yes, I did have a lot of fun writing it, also yes, it is as cheesy as you can imagine! I do not have any completed images to show you as these are still in production. However perhaps a teaser of the outfits our two girls will be wearing.
Not final, subject to change, probably will a bit.
