That's his official stand in the public chatrooms on discord. However to high pledges he has told them different. From what my wife has said he has basically said as she is pledging high he wanted to be honest with her about release date so she is not wasting money thinking its soon. But then states if he tells everyone the same thing he could lose alot of support and that would delay it further as he could not afford his staff ( not even sure they exist tbh first mention of staff was months ago wouldn't suprise me if the staffs patreon sites where made by gumdrop tbh)
Okay, we get it. There are a few people who still believe in the project, and many people who think they are dumb for doing so. Do we really need 500 messages saying the same things?

Ask her why she supports him and what she thinks of all the lies, missed deadlines, etc. I'm genuinely curious how his patreon supporters rationalize all that and decide it's still worthwhile to give him money.

Well he has not exactly lied to her last year he said next year for update and suprise at Christmas. That happened exactly as he said and he has shown a few renders on his site. I honestly think she is just clinging to hope at this point. This is still her favourite game.

Does she seriously think this update is legitimately going to take Gumdrop 1.5 years to make and that he isn't milking or being lazy though? I just don't understand how anyone can rationalize giving him money anymore at this point, it's crazy.

Well he claims the update is huge even compressed estimates it will top 10gb. Now me I think he's full of shit but to others an update of that size depending on compression used could potentially take a year. However will be funny if update drops at 10gb and guys here compress it to say 2 lol

Man even if she's crazy/delusional enough to still believe Gumdrop at this point, she must know this game is broken up into 3 acts of 10 parts, and this is just one part of 10. Even if it's supposedly a huge update, if it ever does come out it will be full of filler and repetition, there's only so much he could do for a fucking high school dance lol. Assuming he isn't lying and it ever comes, It won't be content worth playing. I just really don't understand how people can be so delusional, especially over something like an incest porn game lol, but whatever I guess.

Actually Star Citizen is not quite as good comparison. The Star citizen patrons get updates, it is simply stuff they don´t need. (Last update gave them an Underground system in their starting city to use. Great worldbuilding, but since it is a game with starships which are still rudimentary, the devs lost touch with what is important to develop when)
Gumdrop on the other hand gives out no updates at all. Probably is fraking too much call-girls, having a good time with patron money and laughing about how incredibly gullible his pflock is, instead of doing what he should, developing a game.

Agreed, although i'm of the opinion that Star citizen is never going to be anything near what it was hyped up to be, at least its doing something. A dying animal is still alive, Dual family is completely dead.
