No offense, but that's pretty stupid considering unreliable most devs are. Games are always getting abandoned, going on hold, or running into problems with development. You should probably check more often than once a year lol.
It depends on what he values and whatever his pre requisites are for deciding who hes going to support. Say he pledges 5 bucks a month for a year that would turn out to be 60 bucks or the price of a brand new game where i'm from. 60 bucks a year or one less triple A game a year in order to help support the production of something that would never happen without support isn't too steep a cost.

yeah i don't pledge anymore, got busy with work so I don't really check any progress of devs in patreon now I decided to just buy a game that is finished instead of supporting something that might not be finished

Should go easy on him, not like he is alone doing such. Question is if he learned from it, and won't repeat it. It's a slow process to get the masses to ease up on the leniency a lot of creators is shown. Yeah, it's all about support the creators but if all you get out of it is bumpkiss in the long run it's time to wake up and smell the cheese.

how in the big F Gumdrop gets increased patrons, does he promotes the game on other sites?
It's plastered all over the internet (adult sites etc), and on Steam. So yeah, it's "out there". What he lack in produce updates he make up for in create awareness and interest in what he already made. In that department a lot of creators got a lot to learn from him (, no, not the lack of work ethics, the part about promote what you got)

As the story goes, Dumdrop emerged from his basement lair one day and asked his cult:
Dumdrop In The Wild.jpg
They were so used to saying "Yes" to anything he offered them that they did it again here, and so this game is "Coming Soon". What a pity.

I guess that it's just strange to me. I'm more than fairly well the fuck off, but I still manage my own finances and see who and what I owe month to month. Can't imagine just letting even a dollar's amount just sit on the back burner and forget about it.

What really baffles me: Gumdrop hasn't talked about personal issues - his mental illness - that are forcing him to postpone his upcoming update yet. This is quite unusual here for Patreon devs' standards.

You have to admit that developing a Patreon-funded porn game is one of the most dangerous jobs.:whistle:
Maybe he has a special type of disease and will be spending a long time in the hospital

Laying down the groundwork for the next excuse I see.

He'll suddenly become 'burdened' with all these extra animations because of Fatcat's vocational change thus meaning he'll need to find 'another animator on short notice' or 'do it himself' thus the deadline is probably missed...But who knows, maybe he'll prove me wrong, but it's the perfect card to pull.

Must be s snail phase training local people I suppose, seeing he said the same to lostraven in that interview, whatever.
There is no training.
There's probably not even any real staff, or if there is actually any 'real' staff, I doubt they're that in the loop with the project and just out-sourced 'some' of the work, the bulk Gumdrops no doubt keeps for himself. It's all incredibly dubious.

I suspect that's part of the reason he's so determined to keep everything 'in-house', not for efficiencies sake, but rather because if an outside source actually got to peer behind the production curtain, they'd possibly reveal just how much tom-fuckery was going on.

The truth and lies are so interwoven with Gumdrops I'm not even sure if he believes himself anymore.
Smoke and mirrors.

I told you: he's mentally ill (like every devoted Patreon porn dev is). He isn't aware of it yet: when he is, he will make it known. Then, his patrons will start collecting money for his medical treatment. :D

Lol, it seems that even Kyle himself begins to believe that the "FatCat" is real. Lies are piling up and Kyle is drowned so deep that he no longer knows what is real.
He is real enough @

If you go back in the thread you will find a poster here that contacted him as well. If you lose grasp of what is real and fiction, you might consider find another thread for the sake of your sanity -)
