same problem. i dont understand how start new game. There is only day 5 in main menu. And download link only one.

I have saves from day4, and tried preferences , pressing start new game .. It

After you press "Start new game", the main menu should adjust to say "Load previous chapter", then you can load your D4 save

Also Day one and two get a text overhaul with the week 1 edition.

Ok... For everyone that have problem with the "save" I can assure u there is no problem with that.. This save thing has been answered way too much. Every problem that u think is a problem actually already been explained in his website..
If u want to load d4 save file into d5, and can't get the file to appear in the loading screen... Go to preference and click start a new game.. Then the continue chapter 3 will become load chapter 3 ..
If u never played d1-d2, d3-d4... Of course u will have to download and play it before u play d5... U can't play d1 with d5 file... And after d7 release.. There will be a mega pack which contain d1-d7 as Week 1 ... And any old bug should been fixed by then
If any of u is still confused, I recommend u joining the dev discord.. It's a great community... We will answer any questions asap in discord.. As we are very active.. If u think the discord is a ghost town.. No.. U need to talked first in order to get ur member role...
I played the game from d1-d4 more than 10 times.. There is never any save file problem for me.. Sorry for this long post.. Regards
