Much clearer, thank you, and FYI I always read every single line of text, sometimes even twice or thrice, but you don't make it easy for us to understand it all ;)

Well glad it cleared few things. .And yep, I know, The One forces me to not reveal much.

When you're trying to create mystery by leaving holes in the reader's knowledge it can be hard to gauge exactly how much you've actually communicated. Passages that you think are very revealing may actually be ambiguous or even serve to increase confusion. If you create too much confusion your readers will inevitably get frustrated and disengage. They may even assume bad faith: "He's just blathering, this isn't going anywhere."

On the other hand, sometimes you can reveal more than you intended to. I remember stories about GRR Martin raging out because he thought he had concealed his intentions but his fan sites saw right through him.

If you can't afford an editor or other types of collaboration it can help to type stuff into an AI and ask it things like "what do you think you know about X?" Or just enter some character notes and see how it reacts. I've been using this approach for a while and AIs can be great to spitball off of. As long as you use it that way there is no chance of being accused of using an AI to "cheat," it's just a creative tool and a substitute for a real reader.
Oh, and make sure to explicitly tell the AI that it's your writing assistant and that this is a new story or it will try to fill in the blanks from its search results which can result in unhelpful or even bizarre responses.
You have real readers of course, but you can't collaborate with them freely: if you reveal too much you can't unring that bell. The AI will take your secrets to the grave when you erase the thread.

Good luck with your game.

Lost me with this DLC. I just can't follow anything going on and from 16 tags portrayed on what this game is about except for 3dcg and fantasy that apply to the DLC. It's as if you're done with the original storyline and now it's just random fillers. You've completely steered off what this game was about and made something that is just too vague. There's no completion to storylines or adequate amount of impact of any of those stories. This wheel of fate as you call it just doesn't do anything for the MC or any of its characters. I rather have sandbox and Silas than this unimportant lore dumb, time skipping and vague type of direction.

I don't wanna depend on that, and its not that I couldn't. Its just that... for this? Now? It isn't worth it. I sunk a lot of $ into this. And I am not willing to invest in it further.

Besides, I already got some proof readers and people helping out. That will have to suffice. As for the whole aspect of revealing and not revealing, I understand.

I have started to tweak and tinker with it, see if I can find middle ground, some sort of balance between something but not too much. But thank you for taking your time to give your opinion and insight.

Here’s the truth:

I did NOT abandon the original storyline. I expanded it.

I am building Book 2 right now through Wheel of Fate, and every choice here shapes the world. And in the long term, it shapes the main character.

Just because someone doesn't feel the weight of what's happening doesn't mean it’s not meaningful—yes, that can be the case, but it can also mean they weren’t invested in the bigger picture, or perhaps expected something very different from what the game evolved into. Either way, I'll respect both.

I will not and can’t please everyone. That’s a harsh truth I’ve learned in the time I’ve spent here. Some people want “Silas banter and lewds.” Others want “burning sanctuaries and divine reckoning.”
I chose to elevate the world.
That means some folks won’t vibe with it.
And that’s okay.

Wheel of Fate was not created as a simple filler.
The initial plan was “War Table,” which was purely narrative.
But despite the backlash and negative feedback, I decided to scrap that idea and expand it—to make it bigger. From lore to gameplay to consequences.

And it certainly ties into events and the story after Chapter 5. Most of what is done here will carry over into Book 2.

As I mentioned in a post somewhere before:
Given everything that’s happened, I probably should’ve burned this entire project to the ground and flipped it the middle finger.
But I didn’t.
Despite every circumstance I have that would justify it... I didn’t.

Why?

Not because of you. Not because of anyone here or there. Because I’m personally invested in it. Because everything I now do on it—I do for myself. Every additional penny, despite the losses I’ve taken, I spend on it for me. Because I am emotionally attached to it.

While I will respect your opinion, feedback, and critiques, there’s one important thing to understand:

I’m doing this for myself. Because I want to create, continue, and finish this story.

I stopped doing it for others the moment it left me with $10,000 in red on my bank account.

And now?

Leak it or don’t. Play it or don’t. Tag along with me, or take a plane to an entirely different land. It is entirely up to you.

Last but not least:
Please—and PLEASE—don’t misunderstand my words as some personal attack, or go “hurr durr, this dev is mad.”

I’m not attacking you.
I’m not angry.
I’m just trying to make you—and anyone else with the same opinion—understand the why and how behind all of this.

I’m being transparent, which is more than you can say for half the devs out there.

AI is free my friend. I've been using perplexity. You don't even have to make an account unless you want to save your sessions. It's too good to be true but it is anyway. It's worth investigating at the bare minimum. But you do you.

Good luck.

Is there a walkthrough - and has anything changed with the beautiful Elf he was with that left
That means someone already had a chance to do over 15 playthroughs to know everything. That's not the point, go with what you FEEL is right. Based on your self judgment for Wheel of Fate.

There is no walkthrough that will help here. It all depends on how you want it.

No. BUT... one of my proofreaders, has extreme obsession with Lyria. So, while she isn't present in Wheel of Fate, there WILL be a letter from here though! Its been a while, and she wants to stay in touch!

BUT... there is another Elf in DLC. No spoilers though!

My Paladin in arms brother. You're running 1.3.2 version, not 1.3.3 version. This has been resolved, all links are updated along with patch notes on first page of this thread.

I have purged this blight already! You just need to sharpen that version!

TECHNICALLY it would be smart if they do. Due to whole renderer changes and ability to chose renderer engine, plus whole fix with python init and fucks up regarding options and values!

No, this is not Book 2. YET.

What this is, is continuation, aka after events of Chapter 5 from Book 1. Wheel of Fate acts as a bridge between Book 1 and 2, aka the events that lead into Book 2.

This isn't a side story, it is expansion to initial story and where it ended. When that armored cunt pops about. This is set six months after that cliffhanger, and you basically continue from there.

Just that there is a lot more to it. You will also at some point through Wheel of Fate, witness the combat scene that happened and events after that when Eliot vanished after that fight.

It all ties into here. So, once again, this isn't a filler, this isn't a side story or rework. This is expansion. Wheel of Fate is a bridge between Book 1 end, and Book 2 start. You're just crusading right now till Book 2 will be produced.

So yes, this is continuation. With every new act, you'll see how things start to come together and more is revealed.

As for save files, it is highly likely they will not work given the size and scope of the update. But... read the patch notes. Look for Chapters Select in main menu, jump wherever you were, or if you already finished Book 1, then choose DLC option. It will allow you to name the character to whatever name you were using, and you can continue.

Nothing lost.

Thanks for replying. What I fail to see is how you'll make renders for 50 million possible outcomes or variations of events? Since that's something you wrote in the changelog. When you say that you won't adhear to feedback that would only please me or a few others of a certain opinion I wonder what I specifically asked? Because all I'd love to see is more of what is already there in book 1 which is really not that crazy.

Did want to write more but I caught myself speculating on what could be and a lot of speaking after the facts so I'll refrain from that but I'll say that War Table would've been more on point with what you created before and would be better for the story.

Not a problem, and let me help you out with understanding this particular part. It seems to be unclear or confusing you perhaps.

“How will you make renders for 50 million possible outcomes?”

You misunderstood the phrase. That wasn’t literal. That’s hyperbole for the sheer scope of branching decisions, not that I’m rendering 50 million variations in DAZ one by one.

Wheel of Fate is still primarily narrative-driven, using text, flags, and dynamic outcomes. Only key events or major shifts get dedicated renders. The rest are structured like interactive books with visual transitions—just like most of Book 1.

As for this part:

“All I'd love to see is more of what is already there in Book 1"

Totally fair. And you will see that. But Book 1 had to end. What’s being built now is the result of what happened in Book 1. That means a wider lens, bigger picture, and yes, some shifts in tone. It’s not the end of what made Book 1 it’s just not only that anymore.

You mentioned War Table being more on point—and you’re right. That was the original plan. A static, clean, but it would be no-renders DLC that just set up Book 2.

But I scrapped it because it didn’t feel worthy of what was coming. I wanted something deeper, bolder, something that feels like it matters. That’s where Wheel of Fate came from. I blended two things together for more impact, which doubled my work perhaps... but more fun for those who play and like it.

So, basically, "50 million unique permutations" line in the patch notes doesn’t mean I’m rendering 50 million scenes in DAZ like a deranged machine.

It refers to the narrative structure—combinations of flags, choices, world states, and character reactions that stack over time. Most of it plays out in text and branching logic. Not everything gets a CG.

The whole point of that line was to highlight how your choices actually matter and create meaningful divergence—not to suggest I’ve built the Matrix and I'm rendering it with DAZ. Even if I wish I could!

I have to weigh what serves the overall vision vs. what pulls it backwards. War Table was tighter and smaller. It would be simple, quick, easy. But as I said... I had a question. And Wheel of Fate became the answer to a question I asked myself "what if I actually followed through on the world I built?"

I hope this helps you understand the situation on this better.

Oh I dunno, perhaps the dev just wanted to actually show Silas' story fully (with him actually roaming the places he goes to, describing fully what he sees and feels), instead of merely showing highlights/summary like you described in your "reporting mission" method?
Have you actually even thought about that? lol

 where are you even getting this so-called "logic" from?
Silas is not a puppet of MC, he's MC's apprentice.

And while Silas believes MC and follows MC's orders, it is actually possible to shape him to take actions that MC may not necessarily take if good choice options are given (such as Zaton & Shani in Desert Stalker who are the primary & secondary protagonist in that game. You can shape Shani to have a bit of opposite morals to Zaton if the player chooses to).

So such a thing is not impossible.
Perhaps Silas may take an action in the future that MC would not take in same situation.

And what even are you referring to with the whole "watching Silas do what he was told to do by the actual protagonist." All MC gave to him in terms of instructions were "Go and spy on Falongor" and merely saying "If you get caught, I can't acknowledge you." (or something along those lines).
MC basically gave no instructions as to how Silas would go about his methods.

Disagree, cause I'll say this using example from Desert Stalker once again.
Yes, that game has choices (tons of choices actually), but regardless of how player chooses in terms of actions of secondary Protagonist Shani during her content, even if her actions contradict/go against what players have chosen against her father/mentor Zaton or not, it doesn't influence Zaton's arc as the primary main character, at least in major way.

So in the end, it's gonna depend on how the dev implements choices in the future Silas content.

Honestly, seeing how some folks are upset about this makes it seem like they think Silas is undermining Eliot (Primary MC of Elleria 1) or something, when that's not even the case :HideThePain:
Hmm...I don't think using Desert Stalker is a decent example as a second protagonist example title. Shani is a devoted female and a love interest of the main character (player)...and the players choices for her events were for her survival only.

But, now seeing this title has added another character as a second protagonist character, who happens to be another dude...will most likely be seen as a potential threat / competition to any of the future or present females introduced into the story (most harem fans will not care to see Silas getting action...if that is the direction the dev is considering with that added second protaginist).

At least this is what many harem fans like me might feel seeing this type of second protag content suddenly be included in a harem stuctured title. And considering this title also recently kind of crapped on one MC's main girls of the story. I mean...many, including myself, though the elf was the main love interest in this harem story. The sweet and pretty elf who has been by MC's side for over five years, and for most of the first part of this story. And as an adult elf woman who just gave MC her V-card, something which was pointed out earlier on...was a huge deal for any elf to give to a chosen life partner. (And the story showed she was very much in love with MC, but the feeling after that scene really wasn't reciprocated by his sudden drifting away from her and becoming a dark asshole towards her. But the blonde was never treated bad like the elf.)

Instead the story suddenly flipped MC to a much darker side in general...and over a short time the story decides to start shitting on the elf, and replace her with another girl. Sure MC was written as a brooding insufferable PTSD asshole, but shortly after that sex scene with her, he became even more of a cold and heartless dick. And I'm not sure how a harem will come from that kind of MC. (But it's not my story to dictate.)

And shortly after that scene I mentioned with the elf, the developer then tells playes in the forms, who for many was and is the best girl of this story...she was just a side girl (I did a "Like WTF?" ). And to top it off then now adds a second male protagonist as DLC content. This is where it started to turn me off wanting to continue with it...
at least for now.

Though, it's good it's a players choice to be able to skip the second male protag DLC content event. I guess...at this moment this isn't an old school type harem story that I would be interested in right now (I'll check back later, as more content has been released).

Regards.
