I am in the same situation, harem games don't excite me. If you can have everyone then it means you are having no one. It means all the characters all having the same personality. If you are tying to make a story with a semi serious plot like this one it won't fit at all. Poly is ok but more than that is just lol. There is no risk, no choice, no replayability of the game, since u can have everything in one playthrough.
This game get so good each update i wish there was 2 episodes an update idc if the development takes longer. I will be occupied with the other games on here in the meantime

You can't have everything in one playthrough, unless you're playing a kinetic novel with no choices. The choices here affect how the story and the relationship with the characters progress, and it seems like the game will have more than one ending so there is always replay value in that. I think you can have a "serious" story and have a harem ending. For me at the end of the day these games are all fantasy so I am ok with endings with outcomes that would be very implausible IRL.

You may be OK IRL with swarming babes or guys around you and a relationship,
but most guys do not get reciprocated attention, not 4 being good, not 4 being bad,

Beyond the character development argument (which is totally valid on its own but need further explanation I am to lazy to give), harems usually ruin most games, as it kills the necessity of the player to get deeply affected by a character as he can have them all.
Oversimplifying: a choice is as good as what you leave behind. If you can have all, you are not choosing anything.
This is particularly true for pure love stories, as in those stories the only source of drama is getting the girl. Once you get the girl, there is not conflict left to be resolved. Now a harem kills all conflict possible as the main character can have it all.
I don't think this is a pure love story, but I hope for many reasons this is not a simple harem. Multiple character relationship, IF they make sense, are ok, though.

i said the same in 1 of the new VNs threads because people were begging for it to be turned into an harem because they dont like to choose, it makes a big impact on any emotional investment you can gain in the characters if you know your just gonna end up with all of them anyway

I play these games because I like games where I get to make choices. My favorite non-lewd games are all RPGs by BioWare or similar because I like making decisions that alter storylines and change outcomes.
If the MC in a porn game can be with and fuck everyone then there is nothing to convince me to replay it. If there are no consequences for cheating it makes cheating less exciting. A game where the MC never makes a mistake, never fucks the wrong person, never deals with the aftermath of who they fuck/where they fuck/when they fuck is just porn. I’m not here for just porn, there are thousands of sites that I can find just porn on.

Exactly!! MC must make decisions that have consequences. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind kinetic novels if the story is good. But his decisions must matter. If all is good, everyone is happy, everybody gets what they want.. well, that is just plain boring.
No conflict, no story. As simple as that. Harem kills most relationship conflicts. Everybody loves MC and everybody is happy that everybody loves MC. As I always say, there is a reason why stories END with "and they live happily ever after."
If it is ok to do, it is not fun at all. That is why for me there is no more absurd concept than that of harem incest setting. One just kill all the "forbidden fruit" from the other.
Same with pregnancy. I want the drama of the "yeah.. we are fucked", "how are we going to tell x?", not a "so.. we are going to have a baby" and everybody is happy about it..

Having a harem path in a game doesn't mean that you don't have meaningful choices in the game, you can still choose the wrong option that will lead you into losing some of the girls and then locking you out of the harem ending. If all the choices you make in game end up leading to the same ending then yeah it has no replay value.

And.. "leak" a "fan base" patch that tells the story just as you want it to lewdpatch.
Or simply lock her path under that patch. For example, there is a hidden variable that unlocks her path if set to 1, but that variable is not changeable without modifying some of the code. After all, legally, you need to modify the code to access it. But might be a good idea to speak about whether this is good enough.
But I'm considering change the story a bit. Maybe if teresa always knew that he was not her father, It would be fine. But I woull have to change a lot of lines and some planned plot points. I don't know. Maybe I'll create a poll and see what my patrons think.
He is not her father. But she thinks he is and he raised her until the age of 10. Maybe if I change these details I'll be fine.

Yeah all the incest games go with the patch route. The only game that I remember having issues with patreon because of an incest patch was C-Plan, but that only happened because the dev was linking to the patch on his patreon
