Well, I don't know how you got conflicting variables. You shouldn't have that thread active with the decisions you previously made. Check the spoiler below. Here you go.

It technically ends. It was supposed to disappear after a scene your save says you played. I'll be making the adjustment in the next patch fix. It may still remain in your save until the next major update (0.7).That's odd? Thanks for the fix!

How do I trade with her?You need three healing tinctures, a sleep potion, a withstand potion, some willow bark, night-time, and in the shop. If you don't have the ability to carry three potions at a time, you'll need to initiate one trade with Horace first, which will increase the carrying capacity from two to three.
You need to complete some scenes with Horace (look in her character sheet). When you reach the scene where it requires 5 of any ingredient (5 fennel, 5 lavender, etc.), she will open trading with you. After that point, if you go outside the shop in the evening, choose "Wait for Horace". It might take a day or two for her to get there, but the more you trade with her, she will offer more. How do I trade with her?
Thanks I have an option to wait for her, but then I can ask for something new - its a potion for 10 silver (but I dont have it) or for news. Is buying this potion considered to be trading and will increase the amount of potions I can have? Is there a way to get more money? Maybe sell some potions to her somehow? You need to complete some scenes with Horace (look in her character sheet). If you haven't cleared out other scenes, there will be a couple that play first when she comes to trade outside in the evening. It can take a few times.
If you want, and need to continue the Saving Valkan thread, you can make a third healing tincture during the day/midday/evening to trigger the scene in the shop at night. However, it will decay overnight if you haven't increases your maximums to 3 potions and 8 ingredients.
Don't buy the potion. She'll just give it to you. Thanks I have an option to wait for her, but then I can ask for something new - its a potion for 10 silver (but I dont have it) or for news. I asked this before but the last time I played this was 0.3ish I think. Does "Choosing no here will remove Genny as a romantic option at this point in the game" mean just for now or is it forever if you don't take sex for payment? It makes me feel like a gigolo or something and it would be too bad if that's the only way to pursue her. I ask because in the journal it says "right now".
