Yes they do, and there's zero indication that's going to happen with this game. You can hope if you want, but I've seen nothing whatsoever implying either of those will ever get done. FFR, when you say "updates" that is understood to mean this game specifically; nobody will think you mean a remake or a sequel. Both of those are considered new, separate games.
