Chop Chop's likely a player given his comments about his son going through college but ending up a total

but it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being revealed as a Syndicate member, given his knack for being everywhere and popping up when you least expect him to (like a certain Stabby person from the dev's past game).

As for NPCs, I dunno. The only NPCs I can recall were the ones in Luna's mystery server, the summons, the monsters in various worlds...and well, one of them is technically undead, so...

...you know, that's one of the things that struck me as odd about the game. We've met a lot of players in various servers...but hardly any NPCs. The only other ones aside from the ones I've already mentioned are Calypso, Idriel, and the Praetorians. But even their status as NPCs is kinda sus. So it's kinda hard to gauge if they can be permakilled or respawn after a certain point.

As for entities that can "excommunicate" aside from the Praetorians...that's a hard one to predict since we still don't know how "excommunication" really works. Is it a spell that cuts off the link between you and your projected self? A magic bomb that travels through your link from your projected self to your real self and kills you upon contact? A program that automatically fries your brain if you cross a Praetorian and get killed by it? A status effect or debuff that will get you insta-killed in the real if you get killed by a Praetorian or anyone sanctioned to do so (i.e. the mercenary players that the Praetorians were with in Ogygia)?

Yeah, we need more evidence in this regard if we're going to draw some solid theories or conclusions.
Wasn't the bear Nova killed in the Pixar server an NPC? He could have been a summons or something else, but he definitely wasn't a player.

It seems like summoned creatures can be created by the summoner or can be other things as well. The one guy said he basically created the undead Pharaoh, but then Luna seems to have made a deal with Pyramid Head since he can't really be controlled and is the embodiment of death in his game (Silent Hill). It is so odd that he is in the game too, because how can a character from a video game be in Eternum? If Eternum is a game, then was he like a cross-promotional NPC she got as a summons? But if Eternum is some kind of multi-verse then is he actually an avatar of death that Luna is cool with just because she is awesome?

So many questions! :ROFLMAO:

I do hope that Penny can resummon her little frog, that was so tragic when Kermit got crushed.

My money is on Excommunication frying the neural link, and that in some case can kill the person. I can't imagine it always results in death as that would be a monster to cover up. A few deaths are one thing, but if every person who was excommunicated died it would be much harder to control that leaking. Someone would eventually have to not be willing to keep quite.

Him teleporting from server to server is easy to explain since when he had to go to school he had to fly..... also the laws of physics weren't even invented yet. And he's obviously powerful since to get to said school he had to fight 2 tigers and a T-Rex with a nunchaku. Little known fact, the 2 tigers....... now do his taxes, yeah. Let that sink in.

His only weakness is that his son is such a professional failure he can't even......... cook rice

Thought he was a guy in a magical fur suit, to be honest. But yeah, I suppose he counts.

...Or maybe it's just another case of HS2 asset limitations and Pyri isn't the same Pyramid Head of the Silent Hill universe, lol.

That, or (if we're going with the "Eternum is just a VRMMO" route), Ulysses bought out Konami and other companies so they're basically controlling a bunch of IPs and don't give a flying fuck if someone draws out characters from different media entities into theirs the same way Epic doesn't give a flying fuck if the Rock and Darth Vader somehow exists in Fortnite.

Nova pointed out back in 0.2 that Ulysses HAS been covering up the excommunications, either by scrubbing the evidence or paying the families of the deceased to keep quiet about it. With their power and influence, it's likely that those who couldn't be bribed and are willing to blow the whistle are either on uhh..."extended" vacation, or are now happily swimming with the fishes.

We'll probably end up meeting his son in the real world in the future...working for Panda Express like the complete disappointment that he is. :ROFLMAO:

I had wondered that too, but the way his face moves, and he doesn't break character even while dying made me think NPC. But it could be a player, I just got very NPC vibes from the bear.

You got to stop bringing up HS2 asset limitation, it's spoiling all my ideas! :ROFLMAO:

Though I do like the idea of Ulyssess just buying out all the gaming competition.

I do recall Nova mentioning that, I guess it depends on how many excommunications there have been too. That could also be where the Syndicate started or who they recruit from too. Some disgruntled family members of some excommunicated players would be prime fodder for anti-Ulyssess personnel.

I have a buddy who works at Panda Express... he is a disappointment to his father... my god, his dad might be Chop-Chop! :ROFLMAO:

I can't help it, man. There's just way too much assets in the game that's ripped off from other games!

From the floating swords behind Annie's back which was taken from Nier: Automata...

To the Praetorian's gun in the Ion server being the Sunshot from Destiny 2...

To Luna's attire in the mystery server being Triss Merigold's clothing from The Witcher 3...

And now Pyramid Head from Silent Hill...

Not that I'm against it, though. There's only so much you can feasibly do without a dedicated co-developer who can provide unique assets for your work. Which is why I'm kinda excited to see Caribdis hit that next Patreon stretch goal because I like to see what madness he has in store for all of us when he becomes unrestrained from that asset limitation issue.

What if it isn't asset limitations, but a clue to the fact that Ulyssess has bought all those IPs! :ROFLMAO:

For real though, it'll be nice to see Caribdis unbound and going all out even more in making this game.

I just had a thought about her ability to read minds too. If Alex isn't really there and she is just a virtual construct, then that means that Calypso was taping into the implant in her brain. If Calypso is an AI, then she is able to access people's minds via their implants which is crazy. And if she isn't an AI and there is some kind of real realm jumping going on than that means that means that she is able to read people's minds through their astral projections, which is also crazy. Need to think on this more...
The ability to penetrate in the others' mind and control it, is one of the basic thematic of the fiction based on the concept of the neural implant, of the demonic possession and of the psychic powers. So the question is: is Eternum compatible with those concepts?
You already know the answer…

What happens to different entities when they are killed? And excommunicated?

Normal NPC - just respawned? Can they be excommunicated?
Player - level reset, permaban or actual death on excommunication.
Calypso - ??
Chop Chop - ??
Praetorian - ??

Praetorians can excommunicate, but are there other entities that can do that or can learn to do that?
I think we could suppose there are two/three different kind of NPCs: the artificial ones, the professional (or human) ones and the supernatural ones; at least this is what I suppose.
The artificial NPCs are artificial intelligences, created to perform the more basic roles in the various setting; like a redneck in a medieval world, a prostitute, the bear killed by Nova…
The professional (or human) NPCs are actors hired to perform more complex roles; the Headmaster of Warthogs, the Praetorians and Chop Chop could be professional NPCs.
The supernatural NPCs are supernatural entities (vampires, werewolves, elfs, daemons…) "enslaved" by Ulysses to be part of the Eternum setting. Of course this kind of NPCs can exist only if Eternum is actually a techno-magic multiverse; otherwise they would be "only" highly advanced artificial NPCs.
Why I have written: "The supernatural NPCs are supernatural entities (vampires, werewolves, elfs, daemons…) "enslaved" by Ulysses…"? Due to the dreams in which a girl asks to Orion if he would help them, because I think it opens the door to two kind of scenarios (not incompatible with each other), in which the not human NPCs are highly advanced AI (so advanced to have gain the self-awareness) and/or supernatural beings enslaved by Ulysses. In fact what we know about Calypso is compatible with both the scenario: she can be an actual elf princess not completely subjugated to Ulysses will or an AI who don't know it is an AI due to some issues in its programming; the Praetorians said she wasn't ready to be used…

Does anyone else know other visual novels made using Honey Select 2? Most VNs seem to be still stuck with Honey Select 1, which looks too plasticy in my opinion.

I'm gonna call it here first. Chop-Chop is the Founder. He shows up everywhere to keep tabs on the players and the game. He is especially interested in the MC because the MC is his son/past self or father on a different timeline/arch enemy/ etc. He is there to watch over the MC and make sure nothing really bad happens to him and steer him in the right direction subtly (so subtly that no one, not even we as observers can tell he's anything other than bat-shit-crazy).

It's even possible that Chop-Chop is Stabby Mike in disguise. We have never seen Chop-Chop and Stabby Mike together in the same place at the same time (Batman/Bruce Wayne, Superman/CLark Kent syndrome)

By the way i think chop chop is meant to be like the parody of a gold farmer or something. He's basically a guy that actually works on Eternum, since you can easely convert the game currency in actual money.

I don't think he will turn to be more then this unless Cardibis goes for a cheap plot twist. He's a comic relief.

Let me say i strongly approve your screen name. Why not an actual Coaxmetal avatar though?
Would you believe that there is no good fan art of it? The actual screenshots look like a brown smudge. Lady of Pain had to suffice.

Does the main character ever become less of a pussy? He's so passive and is the classic "nice guy". It's difficult to deal with. And the amount of dialogue and exposition is getting ridiculous. I'm no brainlet but slogging through the excessive dialogue is painfully boring. Also I've been playing this PORN game for a few hours now and the only thing explicitly sexual was the prostitute when you get to the game in the game and the creepy shower peeping thing. I've been doing all the choices perfectly as well due to the multi mod. I just met the psycho bitch that threatens to kill you. Does it get better or is it like this the whole way?

I would say that based on what you've said, no, from your perspective it won't get "better." If you already find the game "boring" I can tell you that you will probably just get more and more bored by it. This is a game that is heavy on story and character development, as well as humor and intrigue, with sex scenes in it from time to time. It's a true example of an Adult Visual Novel, as opposed to a fap a minute porn game that are a dime a dozen on the site.

Also, the MC is a good guy, not a nice guy. Nice guys are pathetic weak neckbeards who are, often, secretly assholes acting nice to get something. White Knights and the like. Good guys are actually functional adult human beings who just aren't assholes because they don't want to be and treat people with respect and are good humored and well adjusted. If you see the MC as a "pussy" or "nice guy" it makes me wonder if you even read any of the story at all... and if you are calling Nova a "psycho bitch," then yeah, this game probably isn't for you... ;)

/one of the recommended options in the game leads to MC sucker-punching a white-haired dude trying to hit on and sexually harass his childhood friend. Later on in the game he gets the recommended option to do it again, resulting in him brawling with said white-haired dude.

This game is story first, porn second (with about 1-2 scenes minimum per update), so if your definition of "getting better" means that it's going to switch gears and have more porn than plot later on then no, it's not going to "get better."

The type making that kind of statement is the incel that can't even get a woman to look at him, so he imagines himself taking every woman in every game by force so he can pretend to be a man. Pathetic.
