I guess I'm late to the party. And it'd my own fault, I have seen too many ugly Honey Select games, so I tend to ayoid them.
Boy, was I misled.
This is officially the best Game in the section VN.
The grafics are spectacular (for HS).
Yeah, MC's overpowered, the girls are unrealistic (but very sexy) and the characters are a bit clichéd.

It doesn't matter a bit! The story is absolutely masterfull told, and the little parodies here and there (or the VERY BIG ones, like Warthogs) make it even more interesting to follow. I haven't even activated the "skip unseen text" on that one.
This gets all praise I can give because of its creativity, the mastery in execution of said creativity, and the little things they throw in here and there to amuse me. (Also, made me cry, laugh and even rage. How can you stand in front of the fukken box and chat away! Open, grab, run! GODDAMIT! ;D )

Those of you who had lag during animations might want to try the mod. I've adjusted the code throughout the game to ensure multiple animations are not showing at once which causes lag.

there is not a lot at the moment, but it's not like there's nothing. if his past game, Once in a Lifetime is anything to go by, there will eventually be plenty to keep you sated.

I enjoy the current pace to be honest. I wouldn't with many other games but I do with this one.
The writing and art is just so good that I really don't care that much about the sex scenes. Caribdis is either very knowledgable in the field or truly talented. Lighting, framing, atmosphere, humor, emotions, MUSIC ... it's all so well done that I regularly forget that this is an AVN.
I understand your point of view, and if you go into this game with your main motivation being to jack off, this is probably not the perfect game for it.
Came for the porn, stayed for the talent you might say.

Wait, are you following the story correctly? (I'm assuming you've played v0.4) MC's first gem of doom was robbed by Thanatos when he was stabbed but magically not dead, so his inventory has never been reset in the first place. One third of Chapter 4 is to grab another gem from the old dude's vault. That's the reason why he's got invited to the meeting.

He's not dead, sure thanathos impaled him but when Mc was going to die he awakened some sorta of power

Nah I think he's talking about the fight Mc VS thanathos, where Mc being impaled by thanathos and close to die awakened a sorta of God mode that saved his life

I never experienced that because i got Annie a good luck charm from Chop Chop way back in the beginning of the game. Seems to be some kind of respawn token that absorbs one death and then shatters.

he literally goes on boasting about his intricate plan to his enemy like we see in some movies where the villains before their success talk straightly about their evil schemes. Like WTF man?

And the reason is quite the same: Exposition. The cliche villain infodump and Orion's bragging cover the same need a movie sometimes have to explain a plot twist. In the case of the villain, the movie need to connect a few dots of what the hero found out so far, while in the case of Orion it is needed because or the ring structure of that sequence.

Ring because it is a non linear narration that start to a certain point, near the epilogue and then goes back to what happened before to arrive at that point and then move on.

Now, i think it was just brilliant. The ring structure is there as a red herring to make us think the heist went horribly wrong. The cigar dude also clearly say it was comically bad concieved and executed. If the narration was linear we would have just assumed that the heist was going to be a success, so we would have followed who did what in a kinda boring way. With the ring, we had this information: the heist failed. And we were curious and invested in finding out what went wrong and with what conseguences. But then there come the twist: the heist is still ongoing and full on track. And to quick deliver this information Orion had to do exposition and the author had to tell and no show, which is sometimes acceptable.

Now i'm not a literature critic, so i can't tell how well delivered this approach was, but i enjoyed it a lot and i'm not the only one so i guess it wasn't bad after all.

Again, i'm very curious about Caridbis background. The guy REALLY can write and he's an hell of a director.

OK, that needed more words. Our MC is Neo, right? He knows nothing, can't do shit (in game) at first. But everybody 'xcept for the villains likes him, he gets the ladies by default, he is Mr. 100% compatibility, he has the learning curve of a Rocket and on top of that a creepy superpower thing (he doesn't completely control, yet...). The gems are rolling his way, the super weapons accumulate around him, sein Rotz läuft bergauf.
All that is not your average Joe.

But, don't worry, in case of emergency there is still Nancy. (I highly enjoyed her way to power, very nicely done.) Or the badmans daughter. The very cute nerdy sniper. And so on. All assets that gather around him, powers at his service.

And then the meeting at the very end of 0.4. Wow!

I agree that "overpowered" may have been not the exact right word. But my english is not good enough to catch all that in another word.

The IT-rapist said that all npcs have a chip in the back of their neck, which makes me think that they are real people that are being mind-controlled. I also think that Axel saw a benjamin npc and that he will now get a redemption arc at some point.

I hope, like really hope, that Benjamin does not have a redemption arc of any kind if he is somehow "alive" inside Eternum.

Can't surpass my curiosity anymore and rush to play v0.4 anyway... just when I thought the pacing of the game in previous version couldn't get any better, here we are: a bit of heist, romance, alien invasion/resident evil, and classic suspense that exceeds my expectation.
The only thing that puts me off just a bit is that at the end of the heist when elf lady (can't remember her name sorry) comes to rescue MC, he literally goes on boasting about his intricate plan to his enemy like we see in some movies where the villains before their success talk straightly about their evil schemes. Like WTF man? Seriously this scene is so ridiculous that it cracks me up quite a bit.
Alex's BJ scene feels just a bit forced imo, because the relationship buildup feels a bit lackluster compared to other girls like Annie, Dalia and/or our cougar Nancy: one minute she's still questioning whether or not MC is the prince charming she's been looking for, and in the next scene the situation gets incredibly escalated. But this is just my nitpicking.
Anyway, such an amazing update that enriches the storyline further. Looking forward to next surprise!

About the MC talking about the heist plan - I actually dont mind this because I dont view this as a game that takes itself too seriously or tries to be realistic. I view it as more of a fun/lighthearted anime inspired game with a few scary moments. I think for me the setting and general atmosphere of the game really matters when it comes to scenes like this.

If this game tried to take itself too seriously or if it tried hard to be realistic I would probably hate it but since this game does not try to do that, I dont dislike it.

Oh, okay, Axel I'm undecided on. As of right now, I'd prefer he not get one, but we'll see if Caribdis can change my mind if that's the plan.
