While I am a fan of incest in general, I don't believe it's needed in this game at all.

I went to a game I knew had it, clicked the tag, and got 49 pages of results. There are plenty of games that already have it and not every game needs it. The best games I've played or looked into (and this is one of them) do well without that overused trope.
I've played a few that have it, and so far only one has had a decent story to go with it; the others either didn't really benefit from it either way you played it, and/or didn't have nearly as good of writing or story building.

Remember the first Weapon of Atlas? The sword? I have been imagining what it can do. And if there's one thing Caribdis taught me, it's that Honey Select is capable of much more than just generic stuff.

Am I right in thinking that there's no way to avoid Orion "dying" as a result of his encounter with the xenomorphs on the Andromeda server's space station?

You can survive, but its a bit hidden:
If you bought Annie the Pendant of Destiny in the very beginning of the game, you survive without dying (during very first interaction with the item vendor in eternum)
However i don't think the level loss is a huge debuff: level in Eternum seems to be more a vanity thing or rather, it shows how powerful you are/were, but you don't gain power FROM level ups but levels from completing hard challenges. The real debuff for normal players is loss of equipment from dying, but eternum player skill rises from actual personal skill, not points distributed during lvl up like classic rpgs.

Room Girl was released so I thought I'd give it a try. Tried to re-create Annie because she's the easiest. Turns out, Room Girl is even more demanding than Cyberpunk. I did manage to capture one screenshot before my computer exploded though. So although Caribdis has already said he wouldn't switch to Room Girl, I guess that's even more certain now.
